Put use metal bb in bb guns if, aimed right, also can kill people right? I saw my fren used a metal bb, got tiny spikes wan... won't the barrel rosak?
Hi, would like to point out a few things in the statement above: First, all airsoft replicas (the one that some of you guys have been showing off in here) do NOT and are NOT capable of firing metal bbs, regardless of the length of barrel, what sort of propellent it uses, etc etc. Only airguns are capable of firing steel pellets (not steel bb because they do not looked like normal bbs). The diameter of a metal pellet is usually smaller than a 6mm plastic bb.
Air guns comes in 2 different callibre - (.177 rimfire and .22). Only .177 callibre air guns are capable of firing metal pellets. These airguns are NOT in the same catagory as airsoft replicas because of the different ammo used.
Again, 6mm plastic bbs travelling up to 500fps cannot penetrate skin even if shot at point blank range. It just hurts a hell lot!
metal pellets has got more destructive power (because it's made out of metal!) and it is able to maim or even kill small domestic animals. (that's what the metal pellets are usually used for, to get rid of pests like rats, and dogs & cats...)
If you are still confused between a normal 6mm airsoft gun and a .177 slug gun, use the internet search engine. Keywords: airsoft gun, slug gun, plastic bb, metal pellets.
