QUOTE(BB-GunZ @ Oct 11 2007, 06:57 PM)
actually you can get it "legally" if you know where to get. how the sellers get it in is their business. if they got it in illegally, it's their business. all you do is buying it from them when they put it up for sale or display. so, theoretically, you're not doing anything illegal. you're just buying goods.
and ppl here seem to be very "friendly" and "helpful". i posted a question and until now, nobody has answered me yet. typical.  rolleyes.gif  rolleyes.gif  rolleyes.gif  rolleyes.gif  rolleyes.gif

Hey, BB-GunZ bro I would like to help out but my location is East Malaysia, Sarawak, Kuching and I'm not sure that "place" still got the AK-47 or not? Since it is few years back oredy... sweat.gif And my 'Double Eagle' pistol is bought during primary school@1998.... shocking.gif While my M4A1 is bought from 'ahem' forumer which same state with me, hehe so lucky I am! So.... unsure.gif Sorry. mellow.gif

By the way, unfortunately you are still doing illegaly for owning these 'stuff'! (according to Malaysia's law of course wink.gif )

Hey that FAMAS rifle I know, which is 1 of 3 airsoft guns replica offered by a Bintulu, Sarawak forumer to me. But I didn't chose it or took all, instead I've chosen the M4A1 (hand grip not included), which is AEG and the others are manual type. All 3 of it are in plastic. smile.gif
Now make up my airsoft guns replica collections to 3, which include: M4A1 (without hand grip), AK-47 and a handgun (Pics here:http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/231138/+220)

QUOTE(thestar.com.my @ Friday April 11, 2008)
Two nabbed over 60 fake guns

SIBU: A contractor and his wife have been arrested over the seizure of more than 60 imitation guns of various types and ammunition at their home in Jalan Belatok here.

Federal Criminal Investigation Department (CID) director Datuk Mohd Bakri Zini said the weapons, believed to be smuggled in, looked genuine.

''Although the guns are imitations, they could kill when used with imitation bullets. We are investigating whether similar weapons are in the market,'' he told reporters on an official visit here.

Mohd Bakri said police are probing the case under the Firearms Act, 1990, adding that the couple had been released on bail after a six-day detention period. They were arrested on April 1.

Investigation papers have been sent to the state Attorney-Gebneral's office for further action.

On the progress of ''Ops Cantas Kenyalang'' launched last year to eradicate the gangsterism problem in the state, he said 20 of the 43 ganglords now under detention were from here.

He said two of them were arrested here last week.

Mohd Bakri said police are still hunting for another 10 who are in hiding outside the state.

He said the gangsterism problem is more serious in this town, and that gangsters are involved in various criminal activities, like collection of protection money, illegal logging and extortion.
Unfortunately, I fail to find some news's pics for you guys. sad.gif

Found more of the news,
QUOTE(Eastern Times.com.my)
SIBU: Sixty-five 'toy' guns, of various types, in what was described as the biggest haul of such dangerous weapons in Sarawak, were seized by the Sibu Police.
The 65 pieces of firearms, though they are supposedly meant to be toy guns, were as deadly as the real ones as they have pellets that can hurt and even kill the live targets when shot at.
Consisting of revolvers, automatic and semi-automatic machine guns, riffles, pistols, shot guns and air guns, the fake weapons were seized from a couple's house here.
Director of Investigation Department, Bukit Aman, Datuk Mohamad Bakri bin Mohd Zinin, who was here yesterday to check on the smooth implementation of the 'Ops Cantas Kenyalang' said the seizure of the dangerous items was an excellent example of good cooperation between the police and members of the public.
"This is an excellent example of good cooperation between members of the public and the local police force. We need your help to inform us any suspicious activities in our midst.
"Otherwise many incriminating activities may go on unnoticed," he said.
Bakri said the couple, in their thirties had been detained, interrogated and released on police bail, recently. They might face the wrath of the law, as they could have committed an offence provided for under the Fire Arms Act. The investigation was completed and a court order is pending.
"This is a serious offence and we cannot tolerate it. One must have a licence to own guns. So much so, one must have a permit to import these firearms," he elaborated.
According to police records, the couples 'visible' occupation is  contractor. The wife, according to Bakri, was believed to have been involved, since she obstructed the police during the raid. The couple had kept all the firearms in their house.
The police believe that the guns were imported from China and Taiwan and that they would be sold into the market as 'toy' guns. The couple did not have the required import permit for firearms.
"It is illegal to own a gun without a licence and it is equally illegal to import such dangerous items without a permit," he stressed.
Asked on the overall status of gangsterism in Sarawak, he said most of the suspects were arrested.
"So far, we have identified 53 suspects throughout the state of Sarawak. Forty-three have already been arrested and 10 more are still at large. But we know where they went and it's just a matter of time that we will catch up with them," he said, adding that the Police had just arrested two recently.
Out of the number twenty, thugs or gangsters were from Sibu, while five of the loose ones are believed to be still in Sibu.
On illegal logging, Bakri believed that the criminal activity was still rampant. He said the police would continue to work with the relevant authorities to minimize the menace.
In the half-hour press conference at the Sibu Police Headquarters, police chiefs from Sarikei, Kanowit, Song, Kapit and Mukah were in attendance.
