to those that have booked the car, i would like to know (or maybe pm me)

1) where you got your car from ?
2) did you also do trade in ? ( i am considering trading in my nissan)
3) what promo/discounts did you get ?

quite frustrated with my high fuel consumption nissan at the moment.... sad.gif

Hi,

I booked mine from Sunway, City Ruby. The only deal I manage to coax from the SA is either 2K discount or no discount plus free Vkool armorall.

Guys, sorry if this question was asked in V1.
Anyone have the answer?

Hi, I believe this depends on how well you maintain the paint within that 5 years, if you are the sort who regularly wash, polish and park the car indoor during the night/day. Then i dont foresee there is a need to repaint. I regularly clean my car and polish and now after 5 years, after a nice wash. The paint still looks brand new.

Hi Guys,

I just placed a booking for a K5 and should be getting the car within the next 2 - 3 weeks. I was wondering how is the power like of the 2.0 in a body such as this. I managed to test the car during the roadshow in BU a month back. the accelaration from slow speed seems ok but i didnt really manage to go above 90 so was wondering after this speed, would the acceleration be still acceptable? My wife has a Forte 2.0 wit the single cvvt engine and on that car, its fast and responsive though engine sounds very unrefined, just not too sure how would it perform on the K5's body.

Any inputs will be appreciated.

generally, u can't expect a 2.0 car without turbo to have a great acceleration. For me, the car is good enough as I have set my expectation to be within the normal D segment range. Btw, my car is pretty new clocking 400km only and many says it would be better after 1st service at 1000km.

Well, make it simpler if u have tested a similar 2.0 category of D segment:
- camry 2.0 is much less responsive
- about the same like accord 2.0, K5 plus point is you can play around with the paddle shift to make it much more responsive
- heavy footed during normal driving will cause a quick gear change to low and causing sudden high rev. Best play with paddle shift when overtaking to avoid this happening.
- don't ever compare with passat, a4, mondeo, 508 which all carrying a turbo. You are then comparing apple and durian. tongue.gif
*
Thanks for the input.

yeah it would seem responsive from my test drove the other day...just that I travel from Dmnsara to cyberjaya daily and would be happy if the car got a bit of ooompph when needed to overtake the fast lane hoggers...

i kinda prefer to let the six speeder handle shifts unless you wanna prep the rev up for something...hahah..

yeah...passat, 508 range..a bit too optimistic, but then again i believe in 'there is no replacement for displacement'... smile.gif

Haha, in-laws are kinda staunch buddhists so you know what entails..they went and ask for lucky number etc....
I dont want to wait anymore truth be told, if I wait for WXA...another 2 months....I will die of the anticipation smile.gif

Hahah, if only I had not bought that property, I'd have gone for the K5 without a second thought.

Here's another angle of the new Graphite Blue that was seen in front of PJ Red Cube:

QUOTE(feelfree @ May 25 2012, 07:36 PM)
You are wrong, the hydraulic will be better for steering response and feedback, Cybermaster problem is a normal for Hyunday and Kia, this is due to the steering did not have the speed sensing capability and the other is Hyundai and Kia tuned the steering accordng to the chasis/platform capability, if not you will feel the car become very dull to drive. Take a spin in a VW Passat and you will know the big different for K5.
*
I agree with feelfree that hydraulics are better in communicating road response to the driver but I thought the k5 already came with eps? I heard that Kia did some tuning to the off-center calibration but looking at cybermasters comment they must not have done a good job. I understand cybermasters problem as my wife's forte 2.0 does exhibit the same problem.. It doesn't wobble but driving at high sped does not gives much confidence as the steering feel is too vague and really boring to drive. I hope one day they will be able to do something about this.. Suzuki swift also has this system but the steering feel is miles ahead of Kia sad to say.. It's not nearly as fast as the forte 2.0 but when it comes to cornering.. I think the swift driver will feel very more confident.

Hope they resolve this crap the soonest, i actually booked on early april but needed to wait until WWX. Now that day has dawned, but now this drama. Actually after so long, the excitement has died down but each time i see the car on the road...damn it looks good

Just a question,if i have signed the hp papers with the bank but have not payed downpayment, can i transfer the loan to a different car? I would obviously still wait a.while more for the k5 but if the wait gets ridiculous i want an exit plan..

I already got my 'preferred' WWX reg number in hand and yeah, I would still wait for the K5 as I can't really seem to think of any other substitute, worst come to worst maybe 508 or Kizashi (but too small) but they both dont look as stunning as K5 and are second best in terms of my personal preference.

Just got text from my SA that he will try to deliver the car by this month, Let's see how this goes.. At least he didn't ask me to pay DP first or else will 'sangkut'.

I usually feel the steering wheel jumping all over the place. The suspension feels ok. But im really not happy with the steering. Doesnt give u confidence especially during high speed drives.
*
that is what i dont like to hear,so its the same with the forte 2.0. The steering feedback is very vague. great while parking while terrible at communicating feedback to the driver..if thats the case, can surmise the car is no fun to drive??

on a side note, how many of u uses the headlamp washer and for what purposes?

If seriously no choice but have to increase price, I would prefer NAZA to remove some features of the car, eg. Sunroof, infinity 8 speakers, headlamp washer etc... and maintain the price at RM143k.. People will still go for the look  thumbup.gif
*
I don't think they will be so unscrupulous as to charge extra for us who have already booked and locked in the deal, if really that's the case, might as well add a few more K and get a 508 or get Jetta with 10K discount, even cheaper than the K5's initial price.

buGG , Agree sutun jambul said.. If price increase ppl hold on to not buy new, but aim ppl who want to sell..
If 1 year old K5 , I sell rm130K , I lost 10K .. But buyer will think I lost 30K , becoz market price are 160K.

Added on June 13, 2012, 11:34 pm

Recently help some1 to check it out the Jetta, no discount at all..
*
Is it, my SA before i decided on a K5 still willing to give 10K discount but confirm is 2011 car I suppose...nice car to drive but the interior...sigh!!

Really hope this K5 fiasco ends soon...

same thing my sa told me... he say T* complaint due to newly launch car
anywhere if rumous is true naza going to increase the price, not suprise k5 sale will drop as many will consider 508/passat... even for myself i will on hold also... hopefully just rumous..

i hear VW polo GTI also kena.. tis gov really shakehead.gif
*
The problem is the Gov got no foresight, why wasn't this taken into consideration when they first priced the car? Before that, heard that Naza could have priced the car lower than the initial 143K but because of certain quarters, they set the price at 143K to make it 'competitive'. Teana is priced even lower, why didn't they complain about that as well. Specs are secondary in this case as the refinement of a Teana outshines the specs. Now when T launched their new model and have to price it higher, they complain about pricing. Why can't the govt stand firm to their decision seeing that T has the upper hand in terms of branding ...typical flip flop policies..
