Hi I've book K5 2 weeks back and the SA promise that I can the car by end of this month. I have suggestion to improve this forum. Can someone list down all the issue that K5 owner are facing and the solution at the 1st page. This will help all the soon to be K5 owner. Not only that maybe you guys can post a good SC in one location + all sort of information that is useful to us.

Also, what is the procedure buying this car? i meanam I supposed to pay the down payment now and wait for the car or I should wait 1st until the car is ready to be delivered to me..Sorry for the noob question 

SA told me he gip free dark tinted with JPJ approval. 
he said cost about 650-700 but he will bare the cost.

any idea how much it cost to only tint the sun/moon roof? ive got all my windows tinted but totally forgotten about the sunroof :/

Too many bashing around in this thread. I don't think people should undermine each others predicament. This discourages other people to voice out their opinion or predicament when forumers here are criticizing/undermining their problems. We are all on the same boat here. We choose to purchase the k5. To each problems is to their own. It is and will be a concern to everyone who choose to purchase the k5. Lets make peace and not war k.

 

Foongchai76, maybe company need them to follow procedure and many department n step to follow.. So more order need to wait this client and that client parts n ship together , so delay and delay?

Just came back from awan besar r&r. Saw a rather big crowd at the parking area, then realised it was a TT session for lancer and myvi. Majority of the crowd staring at my ride with full admiration when i drive by. I slowed down for them to admire. Haha, such a wonderful feeling and proud owner of a K5

The K5 has really taken the battle to T n H n some Contn makes in Msia n Overseas! The design is sleek,specs very good (if only GPS included as an option in Msia it would have been fantastic), engine tech, drive n ride good n at least comparable if not better then competitors. Priced well n could even be better if not for Govt levy n tax in Msia!
Overseas it is selling well n the 2.4 n 2 litre turbo n hybrid also available. The 2 turbo would have been great in Msia for another 12 k perhaps. When cars like K5 come into msian market it should make us all think why proton etc are being allowed to make us rakyat pay so much more for lembik protons! I drove a proton perdana a long time ago n it was horrible n no airbag even n a mitsubishi 6 cyl engine which was old tech n it was flagship car for proton! Karut politics n we the rakyat made to pay for a decent car! Cars are not a luxury but a necessity for many of us n sooner policy  makers realize this the better! also after more then 30years our proton cannot standup n requires more protection n what do we get in return but poor quality n high prices! Proton should be allowed to vanish if it doesn't improve and this protection racket must come to an end!

Don't kid yourself n others about proton ! BS car brand n will vanish lenyap in 12 mths if not protection by Govt! Just imagine how many will buy this proton prieve if other brand without Govt tax can sell their cars with full specs n less then this proton! Keep thinking of your pride n keep buying low tech kampung jaguh cars n make others more expensive by taxes etc! in the meantime the rakyat suffers by this false national car which has so much foreign content! As I said stop kidding yourself n why are u talking about proton n bios here?

Preve has good specs and design is ok. But what ppl are still unhappy about is the pricing and the fact that because of Proton, we all have to pay more for cars in Malaysia. Hence the hatred towards Proton. So as long as they maintain such prices, many are hoping Proton will just die off.

Added on June 24, 2012, 1:22 pmI just passed by the Toyota showroom in TTDI and it was completely EMPTY. Despite the launch of the facelift Vios and the Camry earlier, it was EMPTY.

No wonder Toyota is worried. Serves them right!

I have been quoted rm1k for 3M tinting on car glass surfaces to be delivered next week. I am unsure if this price is bcos the dealer wants to patch up after karut with me earlier! Any comment on 3m tinting welcome? 

epoh 3m quote this car 2.3k but roof tarak. should roof put also? pls advice

Thanks for the info, the dealer after causing me so much frus last week now very sweet so I think I will go with this 3m n it includes sunroof! Also 3m have safety film for windows etc.

when i got my car, wanted to do vkool elite..but then, so to let u know, the car comes with solar cut glass, all windows...and i find it acceptable even without additional tint to the car..the car manage to get to good temperature after less than 2 mins air cond blow..in the end, i put in 50% light trans eco tint cheap cheap all round 6 windows except munroof rm850 minus rm200 voucher, rm650....

hence, the difference u might get before and after might not 'worth it'..of course, thats my thinking

Well said. Most ppl dont realise that the Optima comes with UV cut glass which reduces the heat alot. I too planned to have tint installed but once i started driving i noticed that tinting wasnt really neccessary. My car spends a good deal of time in the sun too (which is why i went for silver) and it doesnt get that hot. In fact, the heat is about the same as my previous Vios with 50% UV protection.

So guys, dont be in a hurry to tint your car. Drive it for about 2 weeks and see first.

I saw a convoy of 3 white k5 on Jalan Ampang just now with temporary plate number. I guess the cars are releasable already. Kudos to NAZA. Congrats to those receiving their new "baby". The more the merrier..
