btw on fletcher i think he can be a very good backup to the likes of suarez n carroll. he scores a decent amount of goals considering he doesnt play plenty due to injury n plus he's in a relegation side. possibly even luuk de jong to come in..

I once read about this american idol thing, why most of them dun cut it in real world.  1 album then oblivion.  in american idol, they are mostly amateur.  when you put amateur together all you see is the best of the amateur.  the winner stand out because the rest are juz average.  once in a while someone really outstanding come along.

how in the world did Arsenal manage to stay on top of us?  They are on a trophy drought.  Have never win CL.  13 english league title.  they r behind us in terms of top honor counts.  However, they have not fail to play in CL since 2000.  That is where we must go.

Carling and FA should be left to those on bench.  That is where they can get competitive football without sacrificing our league.  this season our priority was all wrong.  At the turn on the year, we were still in the 4th place league but we slowly drop off.

We need to stop living in the past.  Getting sentimental is not going to earn us any pts.  we went from shouting 18 to 18 + 5.  what next??? 18 +5 + Carling???  i have my opinion which is someone else younger and with recent experience to take over.  KD taking over wud be sentiment.  i use to shout 18 too.  i don't want to do that.

I think differently.

English FA and Carling dun attract top player.  Not so foreign player.  When we win our treble, Houllier value UEFA over the other 2.  Most english player choose the FA.  EPL is probably the most difficult to win.  CL is probably the most prestige  in club football.  To attract top player we need get into CL minimum.  You're right.  In & out of CL won't help either.  Playing in CL consistently wud help financially and also attract top players.

Yup that's right.torres chose to come to us because we played in the CL final although mu won the league at that time.Having benitez and spanish players also helped a lot.CL is a better attraction for foreign players.

Personally we 'got' (agree) Suarez to come, as he had a slight 'baggage reputation' on his shoulders. A lot of people questioned his temperament (allege biting) and some hated his passion for denying a sure goal with his hands in the WC tournament. Heck I think a lot of Lfc fans too weren't sure he's the right one after what we read online. Maybe other (top) teams too weren't too sure of getting him hence we came off the better candidate for suarez then.

We are lucky Suarez turn out quite good for us actually, likewise if it had gone sour, some might say another 'tavez' issue in Liverpool. (actually I didn't mind if we had tried for Tavez too, what can be so wrong of getting "problematic" players? Bellamy here, now Suarez,... )

I don't know if Torres would have come in 2007 if not for CL but I'm pretty sure he did want to succeed in any club he joins, too bad he didnt win any when he was with us, but I don't think he regret coming here as much as he would regret ending a football carreer not winning trophies. Who would have guessed back then when he opted out, someone is in 2 finals too, a FA cup & a champion league final. At least he has a shot of the highest level in club football. Who would have guessed? I know we too are in 2 finals this year but come on, if you know you have, and know you are a good footballer, how long can your career span if you don't take opportunities along the way. I can't really fault torres nor mereiles given the situation we (lfc) were in.

Not many top teams are after a striker.if he leaves i think cavani and hamsik will want out too.
If barca or chelsea get one of them it gives us the chance to get the other.City are loaded,united don't need strikers,arsenal just signed podolski and the trio wouldn't fancy moving to another club in italy.

We do need to pay a bit higher like we did when we beat chelsea's interest for johnson in 2009.

Another transfer window of players like darren bent,matt jarvis and steven fletcher will condemn our club to midtable obscurity.

It would be great if we can get some of our most influental ex-players for loan when the next season starts. If Arsenal and United can do it, why not us? Would love to have players like Riise to play for us again, even if it's just for a while.
