Streamyx sucks be reminded that this team is made of alot of youngsters. u dont expect them to just blend together in a match and produce results. hope to see sterling really. a little pace on the left will do us good imo. |

QUOTE(Everdying @ May 2 2012, 12:12 PM) sometimes it pays to take a couple mins to look around and think...nothing to do with the mods. Money counts at the end of the day. Cant blame them its part of the TM mencari ramli ad, where the top 30 players found get to go to old toilet for some potty training. |

Wolves are going down. Any chance of us snapping Steven Fletcher? 25 and have a decent record of scoring goals. Surely he can score more with better players around him, eh?

QUOTE(daryl23 @ May 3 2012, 04:51 AM) wow, u think suarez might have a chance for goal of the season but wait till u see cisse's goal against chelsea. what a signing he has been for newcastle, gutted that our rivals was able to pick up not very well known of players and be a success. i know he has a more than decent record at freiburg but to score 13goals since his move in january ? thats madness. 13 goals in 12 games. Have seen the second goal. Absolute cracker but is there any link showing the first goal? Missed out on that.btw on fletcher i think he can be a very good backup to the likes of suarez n carroll. he scores a decent amount of goals considering he doesnt play plenty due to injury n plus he's in a relegation side. possibly even luuk de jong to come in.. |

QUOTE(demio121 @ May 3 2012, 09:25 AM) I once read about this american idol thing, why most of them dun cut it in real world. 1 album then oblivion. in american idol, they are mostly amateur. when you put amateur together all you see is the best of the amateur. the winner stand out because the rest are juz average. once in a while someone really outstanding come along. Sorry but Alonso was a big fish in small pond too back then. As for Kewell, he was the real big name that ended up being flop. That's why your theory is a bit.... not accurate here.we may see occasional magical moment. a golden pass that score a deciding goal or a brilliant turn that send defender the wrong side. we need someone like Xabi Alonso, not Harry Kewell. Added on May 3, 2012, 4:29 pm QUOTE(carloz28 @ May 3 2012, 07:07 AM) NO more Brit players. Period. Haven't we learn our lesson? Possible another Charlie Adam bomb. There are plenty of players like him at bargain price. Last I know Fergie signed relegation team players and turned out to be good signing...The likes of Tevez, Valencia, Saha.... the list goes on... Added on May 3, 2012, 4:30 pm QUOTE(ALeUNe @ May 3 2012, 10:31 AM) Honestly speaking, the scariest thing is, we're gone. Doubt owner will throw that much $ again. Probably around 20m+ to remove deadwoods and replacement. No major signing I guess. This post has been edited by solstice818: May 3 2012, 04:30 PM |

QUOTE(demio121 @ May 3 2012, 06:31 PM) i share your same view. Let's be true to ourselves. We all know it's hard to get the 4th spot. See how fierce the competition for 4th spot is. IF we dont win something, we wont be able to attract decent players to our team in the summer.look at this list.. how in the world did Arsenal manage to stay on top of us? They are on a trophy drought. Have never win CL. 13 english league title. they r behind us in terms of top honor counts. However, they have not fail to play in CL since 2000. That is where we must go. Carling and FA should be left to those on bench. That is where they can get competitive football without sacrificing our league. this season our priority was all wrong. At the turn on the year, we were still in the 4th place league but we slowly drop off. We need to stop living in the past. Getting sentimental is not going to earn us any pts. we went from shouting 18 to 18 + 5. what next??? 18 +5 + Carling??? i have my opinion which is someone else younger and with recent experience to take over. KD taking over wud be sentiment. i use to shout 18 too. i don't want to do that. Sometimes trophies count. At the end of the day, players want to join a team winning cups and not some regular teams in and out of the CL because of the 4th spot. We are no longer the BIG club ppl fear. If we dont win something, which good player would want to join us? Even if they join us, I m sure we will be stepping stone to their career. In other words, signing for short term more like it. |

QUOTE(demio121 @ May 4 2012, 01:37 AM) I think differently. I agree that FA And Carling cup might not be as attractive as CL football but being a realist myself, I do realize that it's tough getting into top 4 this season given the lack of quality we have in squad. Look at the Spurs squad and compared that with ours... We dont have the squad good enough to challenge for top 4.English FA and Carling dun attract top player. Not so foreign player. When we win our treble, Houllier value UEFA over the other 2. Most english player choose the FA. EPL is probably the most difficult to win. CL is probably the most prestige in club football. To attract top player we need get into CL minimum. You're right. In & out of CL won't help either. Playing in CL consistently wud help financially and also attract top players. The club need to end the trophy drought too. Each cup success will only breed confidence and determination to be more successful in future. That's why I think the cup success can be a major step forward in long term as compared to a top4 finish. |

QUOTE(Rotuham @ May 4 2012, 02:15 AM) Yup that's right.torres chose to come to us because we played in the CL final although mu won the league at that time.Having benitez and spanish players also helped a lot.CL is a better attraction for foreign players. Kuyt was with us when we were in CL and all but he once said that his biggest disappointment was all these years the club never win anything.I believe the likes of Masch, Torres , Alonso, Arbeloa dont leave us just because we are out of CL. It's because we DONT WIN something while at the same time NOT IN CL. At the end of your career, people dont remember you for playing in CL...People remember you for winning trophies. |

QUOTE(Rotuham @ May 4 2012, 12:17 PM) http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...o=feeds-newsxml Be realistic. Why would he come to a club with no CL when there are other CL team after him?We should be going after players like this. But no doubt we will pay 25million for darren bent this summer |

QUOTE(koolspyda @ May 4 2012, 01:01 PM) Personally we 'got' (agree) Suarez to come, as he had a slight 'baggage reputation' on his shoulders. A lot of people questioned his temperament (allege biting) and some hated his passion for denying a sure goal with his hands in the WC tournament. Heck I think a lot of Lfc fans too weren't sure he's the right one after what we read online. Maybe other (top) teams too weren't too sure of getting him hence we came off the better candidate for suarez then. That's exactly why I asked some of us here to be realistic. We are lucky Suarez turn out quite good for us actually, likewise if it had gone sour, some might say another 'tavez' issue in Liverpool. (actually I didn't mind if we had tried for Tavez too, what can be so wrong of getting "problematic" players? Bellamy here, now Suarez,... I don't know if Torres would have come in 2007 if not for CL but I'm pretty sure he did want to succeed in any club he joins, too bad he didnt win any when he was with us, but I don't think he regret coming here as much as he would regret ending a football carreer not winning trophies. Who would have guessed back then when he opted out, someone is in 2 finals too, a FA cup & a champion league final. At least he has a shot of the highest level in club football. Who would have guessed? I know we too are in 2 finals this year but come on, if you know you have, and know you are a good footballer, how long can your career span if you don't take opportunities along the way. I can't really fault torres nor mereiles given the situation we (lfc) were in. We are lucky to get Suarez. Spurs was interested in him but gave up on him because Redknapp thought he was the same player like VDV. If Spurs enter the race that time, with them in CL, I m sure Suarez will pick them over us. Some of us here dream of big signing but big signing goes to big club. We are not one at the moment. |

QUOTE(Rotuham @ May 4 2012, 02:43 PM) Not many top teams are after a striker.if he leaves i think cavani and hamsik will want out too. That's what you think.Reality might reflect otherwise....If barca or chelsea get one of them it gives us the chance to get the other.City are loaded, united don't need strikers, arsenal just signed podolski and the trio wouldn't fancy moving to another club in italy. We do need to pay a bit higher like we did when we beat chelsea's interest for johnson in 2009. Another transfer window of players like darren bent, matt jarvis and steven fletcher will condemn our club to midtable obscurity. Rumours have it City wanna offload Dzeko and RM want Aguero. If they leave, City will need REPLACEMENTS. ManU will have both Owen and Berbatov leaving at the end of season. Who is to say they wont need replacements? They cant possibly depend on young Welbeck eh? Drogba is leaving Chelsea. Lukaku is young and raw. News reported Lukaku is heading for a loan as part of the deal for Marin... That's left Torres and DT23. DT23 is too young and Torres is switching hot and cold. That means they probably aiming for 2 strikers. These are only the few big teams I m referring to... We have Bayern....Lyon....Inter....AC Milan...and other big teams with CL aiming for strikers. |

QUOTE(bitebug @ May 4 2012, 07:31 PM) But u also quote QUOTE(bitebug @ May 1 2012, 07:28 PM) It would be great if we can get some of our most influental ex-players for loan when the next season starts. If Arsenal and United can do it, why not us? Would love to have players like Riise to play for us again, even if it's just for a while. Anyway, shitmail or what doesnt matter. IF....the words come from Werner then it might be true.... and don't forget Riise makes his emotional return to Ainfield |
