Liverpool closing on €20m Uruguayan starlet

Liverpool are leading the race to sign Gaston Ramirez and could have already made a €20million bid for him, according to talkSPORT.

Anfield boss Kenny Dalglish is reportedly impressed with the attacking midfielder’s displays for Bologna this season and would be interested in bringing him to Merseyside.

The report of the Reds’ interest comes in light of comments made by Ramirez’s agent to the Italian press that a bid had been receieved.

“Bologna have received an offer near to 20 million Euros from an important club in the Premier League,” said Pablo Bentancur.

“Bologna will decide at the end of the season what they are going to do.”

The report suggests that this club could be Liverpool as Dalglish is thought to be ready to make a number of changes to his squad and is keen on bringing the Uruguay international to Anfield.

At only 21 years old, Ramirez fits the bill for Liverpool’s transfer policy under their new American owners.

The former Penarol youngster has been a virtual ever-present this season, scoring six goals.

Were he to sign for Liverpool, he would join international team-mates Luis Suarez and Sebastian Coates at the club.

Nah he probably said "You know what, you still owe me an assist you little bugger" laugh.gif

All 3 goals last night was class, should have had a hattrick much earlier but he redeemed himself with the wondergoal. That's why we can't get enough of Luis Suarez. thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif

He will then said, Damn you!!!you still owe me few during the Everton match! tongue.gif

Liverpool have reportedly agreed an £8m deal to sign Swedish midfielder Rasmus Elm from AZ Alkmaar.

The one-time Everton target has blasted 10 goals in 17 games in the Eredivisie this season, convincing Kenny Dalglish to make his move.

According to The Sun, the Scot made the trip to Holland to watch the 24-year-old play against Feyenoord yesterday.

However, Dalglish was left frustrated as Elm was absent due to his wife suddenly going into labour.

Despite the wasted journey, it has been reported that Elm will move to Anfield on a five-year contract worth a £40,000 a week.

QUOTE
Liverpool have reportedly joined the chase to sign Montpellier striker Olivier Giroud.

The 25-year-old has scored 20 goals for the Ligue 1 leaders this season.

Reds manager Kenny Dalglish was joined by assistant Steve Clarke to watch Giroud in Friday's 1-0 win at Toulouse, according to the Daily Mail.

However, the French international missed a penalty for Montpellier during the match.

Arsenal and Bayern Munich were also thought to have had scouts in the crowd to watch Giroud.

The No.33 also revealed why he apologised to the Liverpool fans on twitter following a miss from close range during the win at Carrow Road.

"I just wanted to let people know that I should be scoring from there," he added.

"I just took my eye off the ball. People have said there was a bobble but I've not watched it back to be honest and I don't think I will watch it back.

"I will just forget about it, keep getting into the box and hopefully get my first Premier League goal soon."

While his disappointment at not registering his first top-flight goal in a red shirt was obvious, a tweet from injured teammate Lucas praising his overall display was a great tonic.

He added: "I didn't see it at first before someone re-tweeted it. It's nice when someone like Lucas gives you that little bit of extra support. I have always admired him as a player and look up to him.

"It just gives you that little boost of confidence and it's nice that he did that."

Argh, next time just try harder, Shelvey....

Had it not been Suarez misconducting himself, he would have easily been the man winning the Player of the season award. Anyway, my vote goes to Skrtel as well.
