He still has a lot to prove.
Look at the number of goals he scored this season, it is far from impressive.

but those guys who thinks KK should start with Carroll is the same person who thinks Carroll is juz a waste of money early in a season..I bet they'll suddenly support KK if next season we're in top 4..the same person who want KK to be sack this season!!! laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

QUOTE(MistakesMow @ May 6 2012, 06:23 PM)
What I don't get is this

1* we are building for the future, why are we not playing youngster in the cup games. Cup games are always the stepping stone for the reserves to shine. To see if they are capable for the next step. Isn't it contradicting?

2* last night's match. It's so obvious that the tactic is not working in the first half. Why not change it immediately in the second half. It's not that we are levelled with Chelsea. We are a goal down. And we have to wait till they score the second only we start to wake up and field a more offensive player? I'm not saying we will definately win or draw level if sub were made during half time. But it does give us hope.

3* when the starting line up were announce. I tot that KD is going to pack the middle and hope for a counter. Well that's not bad. But what surprise me is that we are not playing 5 across the middle but it's still a 4-4-2 with Henderson playing out of position again on the right with bellamy up front with Suarez. Fine play 4-4-2. I totally agree. But not Henderson on the right.

4* sometimes I wonder if KD studies the opponent before each match to counter them. Chelsea - Barcelona match for example. Barcelona lost because they don't have a target upfront to distribute the ball. They played just outside of the penalty box waiting for opening. Chelsea just have to pack the man in the middle to neutralize it. That's all. And they won. Against the best team in the world. Allegedly. That should be the point KD must realize to organize the team for the match. Had he done that I'm not sure. Or he just think our current player can match them player for player without doing any homework? I don't know.

KD suppose to be the great motivator. But I jut don't see the player yesterday motivated at all. None so whatever.

not playing youngsters in cup games??..coates,kelly,flanagan is not youngster??..u want the whole reserve player played in cup games is it??

QUOTE(ALeUNe @ May 6 2012, 08:45 PM)
CL is not the sole reason to attract good players.

ManC signed players like Robinho when they were not even top-4.

There are other factors in attracting good players.
1) Manager with pedigree can attract players
2) Money (i.e. high salary) can attract players
3) The club has a clear direction to be a top club (i.e. full support from the owner, especially in transfer market)
*
this is what i tell to those people...CL futbol is one of the reason but its not the ONLY reason..there are many factors to consider..modric,bale came to spurs when they were not playing in CL..same as many man.city players..the most important thing is buy them YOUNG..not when they already became a household name

i think kenny should stay for at least another season, but liv need to bring someone who actually have the tactical management skill (or whatever it is called).. maybe bring in a new manager (capello, hiddink or ...) and kenny stays as the 'godfather' of liverpool biggrin.gif

again, i'm not liv fan but i kesian tgk the old man kenny.. he tried his best but i think, but everything went wrong
*
i dont think tactical is the main culprit..if u look back all those games where we lost/drew, we played quite well mostly..20 shots on target, hit bar/post 2-3 times but still cant get full points...its the players that needs improvement..and to do that we must spend this summer..i'm sure KK knew where our problems area is

QUOTE(Duke Red @ May 9 2012, 01:38 PM)
There are a number of posters who are delusional, that much I'd say. Some expected us to win the title this season. For more practical fans, we know that there is a lot of work to be put in. Having said that, there is nothing wrong in celebrating a win. Doing so doesn't suggest we believe the sun is shining and the birds are chirping all of a sudden though. Is there a point in being cynical and morose over every result until we become title contenders? Heaven forbid that the fans at Anfield will leave all glum and suicidal until we turn the corner. So the Carling Cup is pitiful and beating a somewhat weakened Chelsea side is pathetic. Almost fooled you into thinking I was a manc didn't I?

Lucky none of us were at Anfield, or the atmosphere would have been crap http://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/index....opic=285889.760

to release our tension waiting for the new kit..here's something to cheer us up biggrin.gif

Manchester United's new kit 'looks like a tea towel', say horrified fans
By CHRIS WHEELER
PUBLISHED: 21:45 GMT, 9 May 2012 | UPDATED: 09:52 GMT, 10 May 2012

Manchester United fans have reacted with horror to the club’s new ‘Gingham’ kit to be worn by Sir Alex Ferguson’s team from next season.
The chequered pattern on United’s famous red shirts is meant to be a nod to Manchester’s cotton industry at the time the club was formed in 1878.
The kit, designed by Nike, carries the slogan: Forged in Industry, Made of Manchester.

Torn off a strip: Manchester United's new gingham gear
But fans leaving messages on United’s official Facebook page have compared it to a tablecloth or a tea towel. One wrote that it looks like ‘something Rupert the Bear would wear’.
A club spokesman said: ‘It’s historical, unusual and a bit different. Gingham was invented in Manchester going back to when it was known for its cotton mills.’

Drenthe had 'problems' with Messi
May 10, 2012
Royston Drenthe has claimed Lionel Messi repeatedly referred to him as "negro" during his time in Spain.

Real Madrid winger Drenthe, currently on loan at Everton, has spent four years of his career in Spain, including a loan spell with Hercules last season, and he has revealed he had a troubled relationship with Barcelona star Messi.

"We played against each other a lot, and we always had problems," he told Dutch magazine Helden. "You know what really bothers me? That tone with which he always called me 'negro, negro'."

QUOTE(Rotuham @ May 12 2012, 08:38 PM)
Well even the first sentence is debatable.''.........build on progress''

Progress?what progress

He doesn't expect to move anybody on which we means we can look forward to another season featuring charlie adam and stewart downing regularly. blush.gif

In case you say i have an agenda against these two, damien comolli said recently that a player bought over the summer ticked all boxes but ended up a failure.I am guessing it's between these two with downing more likely.
*
in terms of cup..we have progress..6/7 season trophyless??..but not in league table..so KK got a point there
