QUOTE(Rotuham @ May 4 2012, 11:33 AM)
How many luis suarez are out there?

Winning the cups is pointless if your league campaign is terrible.Look at what happened to portsmouth and birmingham. The former won the fa cup and went into administration while the latter got relegated last year.
How much 'progress' was that? The cups are only a bonus. You cannot claim success if your league season is a failure especially at liverpool

A few of the players you mentioned above didn't leave because they didn't get proper offers from other club.
No club wants aurelio as his injury history is very well documented while arsenal didn't want to put in a higher bid for reina in the summer of 2010.Agger,carragher and gerrard are the highest earners in the club.

Can you be honest and say that torres would have come if we weren't in CL in 2007?
No matter how much you like to believe about ''playing for the red shirt'' and ''proud to wear the liver bird on my chest'' this things are only given importance by us,the fans.It sounds very pessimistic but the truth is often hard to swallow.
*
Personally we 'got' (agree) Suarez to come, as he had a slight 'baggage reputation' on his shoulders. A lot of people questioned his temperament (allege biting) and some hated his passion for denying a sure goal with his hands in the WC tournament. Heck I think a lot of Lfc fans too weren't sure he's the right one after what we read online. Maybe other (top) teams too weren't too sure of getting him hence we came off the better candidate for suarez then.

We are lucky Suarez turn out quite good for us actually, likewise if it had gone sour, some might say another 'tavez' issue in Liverpool. (actually I didn't mind if we had tried for Tavez too, what can be so wrong of getting "problematic" players? Bellamy here, now Suarez,... wink.gif )

I don't know if Torres would have come in 2007 if not for CL but I'm pretty sure he did want to succeed in any club he joins, too bad he didnt win any when he was with us, but I don't think he regret coming here as much as he would regret ending a football carreer not winning trophies. Who would have guessed back then when he opted out, someone is in 2 finals too, a FA cup & a champion league final. At least he has a shot of the highest level in club football. Who would have guessed? I know we too are in 2 finals this year but come on, if you know you have, and know you are a good footballer, how long can your career span if you don't take opportunities along the way. I can't really fault torres nor mereiles given the situation we (lfc) were in.

I sorry. I think Chelsea hasn't even need to step up a gear. We are playing harmless possesion. It means nothing in the final.

I hope a technical change will be done at halftime by Dalglish.

I think Reina should done better. Another near post goal conceded. This time, same as last one he misjudged the ball and parried it into his net.

Reina can't do much. Chelsea player was thru, took the shot with vigour.

I hope Dalglish is retained for next season. Whoever lfc is linked, or even (my own choise) rafa, can wait. (unless he, Dalglish decides leaves on his own accord, in which I hope NOT). Next season, I sure he (KD) will not base his selection on sentiments on his British lads alone.

Perhaps even we the fans probably have unreasonable expectations, granted we've been starved for trophies, and perhaps a little jealously of the other clubs have overtaken us in the league, and before someone remind me, hey it's the LIVERPOOL FC!

I'm not sure those calling for Dalglish head, or those questioning his capabilities were fans who had the privilege of knowing Dalglish (were around to witness, n not just read) in his previous LFc stint? Granted the game shifted a bit in terms of ability to scrutinise every aspect, team formation etc. he dalglish will adapt. To question Kenny sabotages lfc is sick. I don't understand sad.gif

Some of you profess to be lfc fans, yet not many believe in our signature mantra. I don't get it. Sure, nobody is bigger then the club,...that includes us fans ridiculing the manager of deliberately undermining the club.

The funny thing is we are seeing some sympathy from 'other supporter' then some of our own lfc fans. We weren't good in the league, Liverpool fc and we fans can see that. Some of the players will depart, some may come in or comes back.

We'll take stock, reaccess and move on to battle on cool2.gif

To be honest, if there is any good time to replace KD , it's now or never. Pep is out of job(most unlikely candidate though. He wont want to spoil his cv i guess...) AVB...then capello.....And few others....  laugh.gif

Henry very unhappy  sweat.gif

it doesn't look nice I know.

Why shouldn't Henry be unhappy, we just lost in the FA final, like millions of lfc fans BUT I don't read beyond the photo.

Personally as much as some may think its a good opportune time, I think not. (for Dalglish)

Getting a new manager will mean a demand of another subtantial war crest that would dwarf the money to built/improve our sitting capacity.

We need to rethink, restrategies for next season. Not chop n band aid.

I think the discussion has gone a little out of sense.

Rightly Henry, the owners has a right to be dissapointed with our season, and if in a private conversation with a fan, I'm sure Henry's speaks the same feelings as the other millions of lfc fans. (at that fair, henry is speaking as a capacity as any football fan) while of course, he has ways to channel his dissapointment but he ain't gonna shrink his not answering the lfc fan.

If a shareholder comes up to speak to the board on the street, would we prefer he says "no comment"? as if he has no feelings nor affinity to our club?

Right now, I think it's silly to equate any notion that FSG has not done much or anything to our club. We were in bad shape before, our patience (for this season) is at least required after what transpire. Just 1 day to a possible administration, and thank god FSG done what all our fans wished for. Else, it would be another 'leeds FC' again. We all know where Leeds is languishing right?

As much as it was a nice win, it's feels hollow, no matter how it's sugar coated with the accolades of 'could have been 5-1, 8-1 , wha wha wha

Ok, serves a nice sending off for our soon to be departing maxi, and probably kuyt.
Good servants, as far as I know didn't throw public tantrums of not able to be fielded.

Thank you lads, for the time being with us at Liverpool FC.

i believe, if given a choice, Chelsea would have rather Lose the FC Cup final than this morning's encounter cause we virtually dump them out of Champions League football next season cause they can never beat Bayern in Germany.
*
We weren't given much a hoot against AC Milan, and by halftime everyone else was laughing at our expense. Just so you know, they dump the mighty Barcelona out. It's one off match. No doubt bayern starts as overwhelming favorites, home ground...

But the ball is round, and a mighty dose of luck might just win it.

Added on May 9, 2012, 11:51 pmi just saw this on the web..did anyone notice this during the match? essien should be send off..this is a very dangerous tackle.

The slow motion/reverse angle somehow shows as if his intent wasn't at the ball. (he, essien looks as if he's 2nd best to the ball, hence the desperate lunge) blink.gif

we've signed better player next season, because we buy cleverly and not splash the cash with player like downing again. scout gotta work harder to find great bosman and cheap player.

KD on summer transfer plans

Kenny Dalglish today explained how Liverpool will look to build on the progress made in his first full campaign back at the helm during this summer's transfer window.

The boss has revealed he expects the Reds to be active in the market during the close season - though he doesn't expect much outgoing activity.

"All we want to do is add to the start we've made here," said Dalglish. "With the transfer window opening there will be a bit of business done but that's the same at every club.

"We sit and talk to the owners throughout the season. We've discussed all the possibilities with various parties and been through every option.

"Most of the plans for next season are in place. We just need to get the work done and get on with it.

"We are not looking to move anyone out. The only one who will be leaving is Fabio (Aurelio) because his contract is up.

"The transfer market always brings up surprises but what the surprises are going to be I can't help you because I'm not clairvoyant. But what I can say is that we are not actively looking to move anyone out."

OH I seeeee. HAHA silly me! Thanks mate!

Yeah, he's class.. Showed his quality during the pre-season.

i agree,

Cannot fathom as much why he can't impose into KD's framework except to accommodate adam/henderson or we just needed to get someone to pay aqualani's wages. either that KD figured we havent enough players in the same skill that will take advantage of aqualani's classy skill. hmm.gif

QUOTE(digilife @ May 14 2012, 02:52 AM)
If KD goes, Aqua might stay, esp if Capello is the Manager ( italiano to italiano , easy talk)
*
i really think its more of their wages, both cole & aquilani if they had stayed (not loaned out) will probably spend more time on the bench then figuring in KD's formation. That is the only reason we been looking to cut cost. Other than looking to sell outright but nobody esp the italian clubs (in dire straits financially competing in the transfer market)

capello & benitez are the same bag of tactician. so i doubt the rumours will come thru.

we have yet to see any indication that KD is shifting upwards in his role in LFc. until then we await & see the news that emerges from the club for preparations for next season.
