My fucuk up experience with
(Link->)Joe Yob Wheels today.
had to change my rims as there was too much wobbling happening due to dents on them. since repairing them would cost more or less the same as getting a new set and being a bear on a budget, i thought i try these fellas out and see what they got.
firstly upon arrival i told them to look at my rims and ask how much would they take them. i had settled for a set of recon
(link->) Titan Rims for RM330 and the salesman had also said that it
INCLUDED installation and balancing. so i took a stroll to the atm whilst leaving them to work on my car. upon return, the salesman said i needed to pay an additional rm40 for installation because it will be done at another shop and i needed another rm50 for wheel nuts as my stock nuts would not fit the rims. ok fine...got another rm90 out.
total so far: rm410
so i hitched a ride to where my car was being worked on and it was found that the deep dish rims did not fit the car as it would interfere with my disc rotors/heat shield especially the rear wheels. so i went back to the "showroom" and explained the predicament. the salesman said take another set of rims and all they had left were JRDs' which were not worth the money i had paid and everything else they said to top up a minimum of rm50 even for some of the JRD wheels. i said NO and told them to switch them back. now the other shop is not happy and said i had to pay an additional amount to switch it back and the arse at Joe Yob claimed it was my fault for picking rims that didnt fit and i should foot the cost to switch it back.
he claims, i should know how big my disc brakes were and that hidden costs was nothing new. WTF?! i said it was an oversight by everyone and offered to pay half the amount to switch them back and further argued that i brought the car here and the least they could have done was to check if it fits in the first place. they argued that it was my fault and claimed that i had switched to non-stock disc brakes (whereas, my car came stocked with all round disc brakes!!!) thats why it couldnt fit and i should know the size of the brake rotors and know of the hidden costs such as nuts etc.
i retorted that if i were to know all that, might as well i open my own rim shop. believe or not, the salesman blew his lid! He lost his temper and was yelling at me and rode off on a bike claiming he will return my car as it was and my money too.
so i got my money back except for the cost of the nuts, rm360.
so a simple 30min job took me a few hours.

so go to joe yob at your own risk.
btw i was changing 15inch JRD rims to begin with for 15inch rims and not changing any tyres...at the rate they were charging me, i might as well send the rims to be repaired as it would've been much cheaper at rm80 a rim...
but what really pisses me off is that, upon returning the car, THEY BROKE MY PASSENGER DOOR HANDLE and claimed it was like that to begin with! my brother was with me all day and he entered and exited the car without any problems!!! so which phantom did it???!!!This post has been edited by WanTheBear: Apr 26 2012, 07:38 PM
