lol fc question again...

ok like dis la...my car heavily modified with hi compression pistons gearbox with ratio etc BUT WITHOUT a proper engine manacement...just stock ECU(i believe with proper management the fuel could be saved even more)...i fill in petrol rm70 my maximum distance travel in km is roughly about 300km-350km...that is highway travelling with average speed around 150-170km/h and rpm maintain around 5000 - 6000...of course 10-20% city driving...driving style is quite aggressive when there's a car in front i follow their speed when the road is clear full throttle until 160 sometime drop to 4th gear and redline at 6700 and then shift to 5th gear...

IF let say i maintain a good driving behavior my mileage travel could go up until 400-420km max for RM70 fuel...

standard modified car full tank can go max to 500km...few friends able to clock this mileage...

so senang cerita drive laju2 of course la minyak kuat...drive slow confirm save...by slow i don't mean drive like aunty la drive within the ideal rpm range then should be ok at least for me and my fellow friends la

i guess, its time to get a proper engine management to complement the ecu then ?
biggrin.gif

i drive slightly slower than this fella, i also drive an auto car. on average , i get between 320 to 350km on 50 bucks. i keep my rpm between 3 to 4 . rarely redline. rarely go more than 4.5 , at 4, my car speed already hitting between 130-140 , which is enough for me. my car is gen 2 year 2005, so campro kosong, no added flavour.

Added on April 13, 2012, 10:11 ambut dude. get a brand new car lah. byk kereta baru in the market. pi angkat keter lama buat apa ? byk repair kang..

gen2 fc shuld be ok for me,im driving persona, but if u always doing 0-40km start stop, better dun get gen2/persona.
y?becoz it's not the engine drink fuel, but the car is quite heavy compare to vios/city,1220k(gen2) vs 1050kg(vios,city)
but in return,i can say persona is a very tough car,not milo tin anymore laugh.gif

but if u always doing 60km/h-110km/h persona/gen2 fc is very not bad,1L can go around 12km,cause the car inertia built up d smile.gif

gen2 owners dont really rely on that reading...that reading is just an estimation of ur overall driving style and not accurate...to really check the fc fill petrol full tank and drive for about 300km or until ur tank almost empty and fill it with petrol full tank again...then only calculate the total mileage vs the rm you refill...

fuel consumption could be more in the standard campro than the cps. for my manual cps, i used to get 7.1L/100km. after upgrading to the r3 exhaust and a few other go-faster bits, my fc is now at 7.2L/100km.

not sure about older versions but my 1 and half year old car has absolutely no problems at all. mileage is at about 18,000km now.

FC is slightly above average for a 1.6 litre car
if compare to vios and city, gen2 fc sure lose kaw kaw

Handling is superb thumbup.gif thanks to the rear multilink

If can go for newer batch like 07' or 08'

It should be the other way around. Cps engine is honestly the product from crap company such as proton. I own proton gen 2 cps and i must say that was a good car minus all the the problems. But the engine is powerful enough and driving on highway really feels great.

Cps is actually a complete version of campro. You can see how this engine being tune crazily by r3 and they put it in satria neo.

Anyway for fuel consumption as other people above suggest, drive within moderate rpm and it should be good. If u must take proton then get proton gen 2 cps. But u need to face all the problems.

Not all Proton car had prob. It just if you unlucky, you might getting lemon car.
This theory was applied to any car regardless with brand.
And buying 2nd hand car always risky no matter what brand you gonna buy soon.
If seller is your relative or friend, it should be better.

Agree.

Have you ever heard of a problematic nissan sunny?

My friend bought one.

Always in the workshop.

He is not the rich type so in the end he left it at the workshop cause no money.

This was early 2000. I was not interested incars back then. So i don't know what was the problem.

Nissan sylphy also has mouting problems. I spoke to 2 owners. 1 was a taxi driver who had to change every 2-3 years and the other a friend who still had it under warranty so they replaced it free for him.

So not only proton has these problems.

Added on April 14, 2012, 1:03 pmCheck the manual and it measures if you drive at 90km/h and you can get good mileage.

I drove at 110km/h on my wife's person for 200km and when i fill in the tank, i needed aroung RM 20++

When i drive the car at 150km/h at certain parts of the road for 200km, it took more than rm 35.

This was on a highway. Same highway.

i also have some minor creaking noises inside the cabin. so far, no other noises.

as i have mentioned earlier, my car does have some mods. this is because i wanted to rid the car of the slight dip in low end torque. while the cps had eliminated most of the torque dip, it is still there. the mods have eliminated it and i now have much better low end acceleration all the way to the mid range BUT i have lost top end kick. so, from 150kph till top speed, it is not as punchy as before and i have lost about 10kph from my top end. so, no more 195kph runs.

i agree with bro cmi.. i own new neo cps for 7 months already but there's no problem at all. Fuel cosumption, of course high. i'm a heavy right footer and this explains why my neo has bad FC. hehe.. last 3 weeks bought a new vios for my wife. this car gives me headache. On the delivery day i noticed that the rear left seat belt is not functioning and the SA said this can be replace on my first service. ok i'll accept it. then that night is raining and i stop at petronas station went to the toilet. when came back to my car and notice that the headlamp is fogging. WTF.. new car already have this problem. some more on both headlamp. this really pissed me off. called that SA again and he advised me to complain to the service center. the day after, i sent my wife to work and this is the part that i dislike the most that is the rattling sound came from the dashboard. i sent to SC and they said the dashboard is fixed but after 2 hours of driving from the SC the rattle sound starts again, the rear seat belt need to wait and the headlamp need to wait. Is this the outcome that people said toyata is a problem free car? i don't think so. for me it depends on your luck. so stop bashing proton's car. they are not bad actually. don't think that 'T' and 'H' is a problem free car.
I'm not a proton or toyota fan. Just to share my experience.
