anyone can help me decide between these two models? in serious dilemma here. I'm an architecture student so i'll be using a lot of photoshop/illustrator, CAD programmes, 3Ds max, Rhino etc. And i'm an avid gamer as well. Please help me! sad.gif

I know GE60's gpu will beat G53sx's one. But by how much? GE60 only has two slots for ram upgrades while G53sx has 4 (one is internal). I'll be upgrading my ram to the max too, so hopefully 12gb if possible. And the GE60 looks kinda ugly imo. Which one is better? for performance and for my wallet laugh.gif

Not really sure because there isn't much benchmarks yet..
But the MSI GE60 does have newer processor and GPU nod.gif, and the Asus G53x-1208v is EOL-ed already, it might not be that easy to find... Perhaps you could wait for the upcoming G series if you can wait~

thanks, I am indeed waiting for the G55, but worry it'll take a long time to reach Malaysia. So at the meantime i'm trying to find any stores/ppl that is still selling the G53sx. But thanks anyway for your reply biggrin.gif

The one i saw floating around the net, was i7 3610, 4-8GB, Nvdia GT 650. I could be wrong but most probably N56 will be a HD resolution instead of FHD.

also, its H.Metro laugh.gif

Hi guys, need help here.

Any 14" or 15" laptops with FHD display and about rm3.5k (max budget) in price?

and is the asus N56 really FHD or HD? Asus malaysia FB claimed that it is a typo in their brochure and the N56 will come with FHD.

and any idea when the lenovo y580 will be out? and whether the y480 will be equipped with a FHD display soon?

Inspiron 15R (Special Edition), i7-3612QM + AMD HD7730M + (1920x1080; anti-glare)@RM3399, 8GB, *1TB(5400rpm)[TBU]; backlit keyboard optional

Optional means you get to customize it before adding to cart... not turn it on or off. Rm3399 is FHD without back lit keyboard... back lit keyboard is customized while adding to cart with an additional rm42 iinm.

Damn it Dell -.-

thanks for clarifying that up for me.

Why so? Isn't that a good thing that you get to choose whether you want the keyboard or not? Of course you'll have to pay :/
*
Because i'm sure i'd want a backlit keyboard. They come in handy, and also in terms of aesthetic.
