1. Preferred Brand - Asus, Lenovo (No Acer)
2. Budget - RM3.5K
3. Usage - Hardcore gaming (Current games at mid setting), Photoshop, Video editing, Watching movies.
4. Preferred laptop/screen size - 14"~15.6"

I'm buying it later on end of August. Weight is no problem for me. Hope the laptop have no heat issues. BTW, can recommend the best cooler for the laptop as well?

Me again. This time it's for my friend. icon_rolleyes.gif

1. Preferred Brand - Asus and Toshiba only
2. Budget - Max 2.5K
3. Usage - Gaming, watching movies, using for university
4. Preferred laptop/screen size - 13"~14"

I already done a bit of research and here are two laptops I found met my friend's requirement wink.gif

A43Sm-VX002v, i5-2450M + Nvidia GT630M (2GB)@RM2299[2.4kg]v, 4GB, 750GB(5400rpm)
Satellite L840-1009X/XR/XW, i5-2450M + AMD HD7670M@RM2499[2.12kg], 4GB, 640GB, W7HP; colors: Black/Red/White, 3 years warranty

The question is which one is better in the term of gaming and also best bang for bucks? Or are there any even better contender? hmm.gif Do tell me if there are better one brows.gif

Try find Y480 in garage sales or increase the budget a little for Asus N55VZ. Much more powerful than those u suggested.

I think you meant N56VZ right? icon_rolleyes.gif I don't think my friend can increase his budget anymore. 2.5K max. He said supposed to be 2K only. About Lenovo, he said he don't know much about the brand so he never considered it. He specifically told me he either go Asus or Toshiba. Thanks for your suggestion thumbup.gif but so far I think the best are only between the 2 choices I pick right? Anymore suggestion is appreciated notworthy.gif

Okay, it seems like there are 4 choices that my friend could go for. thumbup.gif

Asus A43Sm-VX002v, i5-2450M + Nvidia GT630M (2GB)@RM2299[2.4kg]v, 4GB, 750GB(5400rpm)
Dell Inspiron 14R (Special Edition), i5-3210M + Nvidia GT640M(28nm Kepler)@RM2199[2.38kg], 4GB, 500GB(7200rpm); backlit keyboard optional
Toshiba Satellite L840-1009X/XR/XW, i5-2450M + AMD HD7670M(2GB)@RM2199[2.12kg], 4GB, 640GB, W7HP; colors: Black/Red/White, 3 years warranty
Lenovo Y480, i7-3610QM + Nvidia GT650M(2GB)@2499[JBL], 4GB, 500GB, backlit keyboard, FreeDOS

So in term of gaming, what is the rank of order between these 4 choices? hmm.gif

Qosmio F750-1010X, i7-2670QM + Nvidia GT540M (2GB)@RM3399[2.9kg][harman/kardon], 640GB (7200rpm)

There are not much models available. The latter is running on SB.

In terms of GPU capabilities,

Y480 (GT650M) > Inspiron 14R SE (GT640M) > Satellite L840 (HD7670M) > A43Sm (GT630M)

Ok, I understand. How about if rank by best bang for buck? notworthy.gif
BTW, I updated price from garage sales at the original post icon_rolleyes.gif
