Some review on mass gainer:

1. Dymatize Super Mass Gainer 12lbs

Duration taken: 3 months (bought 3 packs of 12lbs)
Gain: 1.9kg
Effectiveness: ✮ ✮
Taste: ✮ ✮ (Dont like the taste. Very thick. After 3-4 hours in room temperature a sour mouth taste is noticeable)
Sweetness: ✮ ✮ (Quite sweet)
Price: ✮ ✮ ✮ ✮ ✮ (Cheapest. Around RM 150 from 11Street/Lazada. But not sure whether genuine product)

2. Gaspari Real Mass 12lbs

Duration taken: 1 month
Gain: 2kg
Effectiveness: ✮ ✮ ✮ ✮ ✮
Taste: ✮ ✮ ✮ ✮ ✮ (Best taste from all the brand i bought so far)
Sweetness: ✮ (This product have higher Sodium which contribute to better taste. The sweetest product among the other brand tested so far. Mix enough water should be fine)
Price: ✮ ✮ ✮ ✮ (Cheap. Around RM 179 from Muscle Mania Club. Genuine product. Would have stick to this if they still got stock)

3. Dymatize Elite Mass 10lbs

Duration taken: 2 weeks
Gain: 0.8 kg
Effectiveness: ✮ ✮ ✮ ✮ (2x more protein than other 3 products in same serving size)
Taste: ✮ ✮ ✮ (Acceptable. Quite different taste from Dymatize Super Mass)
Sweetness: ✮ ✮ ✮ ✮ (Low sweet)
Price: ✮ ✮ ✮ (Around RM 225from Nutrition Pro.)

4. Ronnie Coleman King Mass 15lbs

Duration taken: Just started
Gain: --
Effectiveness: --
Taste: ✮ ✮ ✮ (Does not taste like weight gainer. More like choc drinks. Compare to the other 3, this one is quite thin when dilute with water. Less foam, and de-foam very fast)
Sweetness: ✮ ✮ ✮ ✮ ✮ (Hardly any sweetness. Like Milo kosong. But does not taste as good as Milo la)
Price: ✮ ✮ ✮ ✮ (Cheap. RM 183 from 11 Street after using coupon -RM 30 - Malaysia Nutrition)

All these supplements recommend for 2 servings per day. Technically i only take 0.5 servings per day, mix with full cream milk powder + 18g raw rolled oat. On paper this provide 730 kcal.

Other meal as usual (1,000 - 1,200 kcal). I do take 0.25 serving + full cream milk powder + 30g rolled oat on top of above mentioned as breakfast replacement though. (around 500 kcal)

My daily macro before workout should be around 1,500 - 1,700. From this intake, bodyweight has more or less maintain the same for past 15 years.

From the 0.5 serving supplements 730 kcal. I reckon that 200 kcal will burn away in swimming pool, and another 250 kcal in the 1hr gym session (daily). So the nett surplus i guess around 200 kcal (body might not absorb supplements fully, especially the raw rolled oat)

From these 200 kcal & 30g protein extra per day. 4.7kg over 5 months, with 0.5 servings, quite acceptable. Taking into consideration body fat @ 10.2%, waist line maintain the same, still can wear all the old pants in closet.

Funny fact, the weight gain more or less same with the extra protein daily intakes. (0.03kg x 150 days = 4.5kg)
