Oh yeah! Carlsberg broke RM11 

RHB Research raised Carlsberg Brewery Malaysia’s fair value to RM11.60 per share, citing better performance of its new placement in the premium beer segment namely Asahi going forward.

“We believe Asahi could potentially become an important brand for Carlsberg, given that it is now competing directly against Heineken, which we view as Carlsberg’s biggest wall against a foothold in the premium segment which is still growing,” the broker said in a research note on Tuesday.

Maintaining “outperform” on the counter, RHB Research said Carlsberg, with its introduction of more locally brewed brands, was on track to improve on its portfolio offering in its battle for market share with Guinness Anchor. -- Reuters

As of the 12:30pm trading break in Kuala Lumpur, Carlsberg Brewery Malaysia Bhd added 0.7 per cent to RM10.90, poised to close at a record.

The stock’s so-called fair value was raised to RM11.60 from RM10.90 at RHB Capital Bhd to reflect higher earnings prospects over the next three years, the brokerage said in a report today. -- Bloomberg
