Proton: Syed Zainal resigns
Proton Holdings Bhd MD Datuk Seri Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir has resigned, raising
concerns over the future of the national car maker which was recently taken over by
conglomerate DRB-Hicom Bhd. His departure, which could presage resignation from other senior
management staff in the company in coming weeks, is due to differences with the new owners
over Proton’s future direction, close associates of the Proton chief and industry executive said.

i heard there is this plan. DRB hicom use proton to keep the car price high(as an excuse) and profit from the rest of the car brand under him

tat sometimes happen to a M&A.. new company (DRB) would want to appoint people that carry the same vision

I foresee it is a positive move as DRB has been quite aggressive and visionary

Its going to be a huge lost for Proton but who knows someone else capable to bring proton into greater heights.

SZ contribution to Proton is tremendous but looks like a new of Proton is emerging, moreover with a possible sale of Group Lotus.
