Yes, if Chelsea wins the UCL and we finish third we will have to play in the playoffs.

i thought the last team that can do that only Liverpool. After that qualification to UCL only through league qualification. hmm

That one i know. What i mean is, in normal rules, 3rd and 4th place are going to playoff right? because last time i remember Arsenal (3rd) and Spurs (4th) both have to enter the playoff session, that time we draw against CSKA Moscow. Not sure which year. Correct me if i'm wrong..

only 4th position has to play off.

in the situation if chelsea wins, then 1st to 2nd no play off.
3rd position have to play off b'cos chelsea will be the defending champ.
4th position no enter champion league.

liverpool last time, 1st to 4th position EPL enter champion league + liverpool b'cos they r the defending champ. that year, england had 5 teams.

New rules said only 4 teams, thats why it is very important that Arsenal remains at 3rd position.

looking at the position now, Arsenal really need to maintain the 3rd spot since Newcastle had one game in hand... some more they are on fire...

btw, this unexpectable RDM just became more legendary than the expectable AVB.
