I am planning to play "random" race in the next season, and it is team game. I know how to play Protoss, so it is not a problem for me. The problem is zerg and terran. I only know the basic mechanism of these 2 races. Obviously I don't have enough time to learn or master both of these races. So, what I want to know is the basic build order for these 2 races in the team game. I am planning to use the same build over and over again in the team game until I get familiar with the essence of these 2 races. I know that I am not going to win, but I don't want to lose horribly either.

So, what is the best or simple or safe build order I can use for Terran and Zerg? Anything will do. I just don't know where should I start from.

Just play like playing Pokemon.. Know what unit counters what, then go for the whole unit-counter style.. So much wins come from that.. True story.. Though in team games.. Not so much..

Watch replays of where the opposing team win you kau kau, you emulate their BO, you can do some minor tweaks after you become more fluid with it.

Random Team is unpredictable tho due to the random issue, Arrange Team with "allied control on" is a force to be reckon with.

i am a random player but recently i swap back to a pure protoss player unless i am in the mood for trolling...

basically playing random helps u understand each of the races... it wont be easy at first but as long as u have solid mechanics, it is pretty doable and fun... from there, u develop ur own styles for each random race and strategy together with ur teammates...

for example,
- when i am zergs i would always ensure i'll provide the team wit map vision and map control... occasionally i'll screw them up wit own creep spread for join base scenarios though lolx... i'll always go the upgraded lings style except roaches when it is a ZvZ scenario...
- when i am protoss, well i can do anything since it is my best race lol
- when i am terran, i'll always go macro-ish with a quick in-base CC... from there it is jz macro into anything i want like bio, mech etc...

it adds a lot of variety to ur play and encourage u to scout no matter what race you are =)

Actually, the reason why I want to play Random is for the achievement and portrait; archon. I don't really want to play for fun. Haha

I guess I will just go for mass speedlings and mass marines marauders in every single game, and hope for the best.

This thread suits evo the most. A random team player. I wouldn't say anything to counter him here. Follow his instructions

I am playing Random teams, not arranged team, so rushing is just impossible for my case. Yes, I don't have many friends for arranged team.

step 1: pick zerg
step 2: 6pool and kill off someone
step 3: ask ur teammates to sacrifice u and leave the game so they get ur resources

result: instead of 4v4 it'll be 3v3 with advantage to ur team? =)

I have a confession I need to make. Finally I played random for team game today, and I am surprised that Zerg and Terran are amazingly easy to use/play compare to Protoss. At least Zerg and Terran are not that pathetic when it comes to the early game.

It really depends, Protoss will need to watch out if there is 2 Zergs in the opponent group, Zerg base usually gets targeted first due to their squishy nature.

I play all 3 races and protoss isn't the hardest race for me though. Zerg perhaps is the easiest race to play if you ask me. :/

pretty much, protoss early game are a bit shaky in team games to rushes which is why i always love to chrono my gateway to get some early units...
there was a few times where i jz asked my terran teammates to bitbybit the protoss opponent with me as without warp tech up, u can deal loads of damage lol...
