About the lappy, consider the Lenovo netbooks/lappies. Very well built and specs are ok. Price osso just right. Asus as well.

I have bad experiences with Acer so can't comment wor. Vaio lappys are oooook but overpriced, netbooks just overpriced and crappy. Fujitsu/Toshie has yawn specs/price ratio.

Macs are macs. Enough said lol, mahal like cipetz but you either love them or hate them.

i use acer, i dont see anything wrong with acer product. got 3 years warranty.
my acer got touch screen, the screen can pusing pusing become a convertible tablet, got ultra low voltage intel processor, battery can tahan 8 jam. RM2.7k saja last time 2 years ago.
only problem is the hdd not cantik already, that is also because it has full disk encryption and i use it to render stuff almost 24x7.

And ask her, if she need to do actual work then yes get a lappy. A tablet is not meant for humans if you wanna do "actual" work.

duno...last time my uni time all of my fren tat use acer cnt last until final year..mayb they play dota n watch prawn 2much???
if dell after 5 year da laptop wil kill itself de..duno wat bugs dell fit in its bios..

My fren and i tried this when we form 6. Put neutral and roll downhill without pressing brake at all. but halfway through our balls hilang and terpaksa engage gear    we manage to hit 100kph in 660cc kancil manual  before we raise the white flag.

Well my dell M1210 is still going strong, but battery dai edi. The Vaio I'm also using now while on the move (I write when not teaching) I curik from my parents liao (they not using asso).

But I agree. Dell lappies are built like Acers - but they have a far superior warranty program (if you choose to buy it lar).
