Oh no la, not task killer. Just tweaking the inbuilt one via scripts etc. Not really lack of memory, just once again the theory that free memory boosts performance or something.

Might help reduce your stutters experienced tongue.gif

Oh @pikachu : Any news from GM on the GPU tweaks issue?
*
Ok my bad sweat.gif followed your advice about resetting extweaks profile in cwm, and now my phone is smooth agn on rc5! Thanks alot biggrin.gif

BTW, what is this smooth_target thing in extweaks that you mentioned?

Haha no probs, experienced the same thing myself so figured that was it. Plus u my kaki complain about stutters one ma  biggrin.gif

It's part of smooth scaling mechanism (that parameter + smooth_offset and some other one lupa nama). Basically the whole mechanism is to make your phone scale more evenly through the frequencies instead of jumping to highest.

But smooth_target alone is the target frequency you're trying to achieve. Then offset and another parameter determines how many steps it goes through before reaching target. So "0" is the highest frequency you have, followed by 1 and 2, etc.

Last time siyah had 1.6 (0), 1.4 (1) and 1.2( 2), so if value is 2, target is to teach 1.2, all is good.
Then he amended and removed 1.6, but didn't amend the smooth_target. So now with 1.4 (0), 1.2 (1) and 1000mhz(2), your cpu keep targeting 1000mhz, ignoring your 1.2 laugh.gif

I have no idea what you just said rclxub.gif so i think its something to do with frequency steps lah?

Yup, steps lol.

Target is the target which frequency to go to. Translating the numbers (0,1,2,3,etc) is highest frequency is 0.

So when you see target is 0, actually smooth scaling is off. When you see 1, target is 2nd highest frequency. When you see 2, target is 3rd highest.

Thing is, 3rd highest frequency changed from 1,200mhz to 1,000mhz when he removed the 1,600mhz from the kernel laugh.gif

Eh which governor & i/o scheduler u using on siyah ah now?
*
Ok i think i got it, i think i'll just set it to 1 then, thanks anyways smile.gif

Just now i checked was on cfq/ondemand, just changed to sio/ondemand sice just now i saw u say pikachu swears by sio, so cant go wrong with script expert's choice right? tongue.gif

Anyone that has rust over the samsung logo? Kind of dissapointed with the quality of the paint considering i ALWAYS place my phone on top of a cloth as i use my phone naked and i dont want my camera lens getting scratched.

And no, i have never dropped my phone in water, a few times i touched the screen with my wet hands, so a few drops of water goes onto my screen, but i have a SP, so i just rub it off. Thats the most the device has gotten into contact with water.

Just realized this today when lookig at the back of the phone sad.gif

Wahh y all leaving S2 haha. But yeah, now nexus so cheap, can see the temptation sweat.gif
Ah dayum. Apart from smooth scrolling, performance roughly same as siyah la kan, can't see any difference?
Hmm gotta wait for ppl to test voku I guess laugh.gif
*
Price is tempting indeed drool.gif but since i want to use a smartphone for at least 2 years, i think it's better to get a nexus as there is tons of dev support. I dont want to lose all the S2 devs to S3 once it releases, like this S2 gonna become like original galaxy s already sad.gif

Nexus don't lose support when new Nexus comes out ke
*
They do, to a certain extent, but nexus devices generally have better dev support. Plus, considering the way samsung treats its former flagships, S2 might not get anymore major updates after S3 comes out.

*
Nah, if i ever get a gnex, probably gonna keep it for at least 2 years tongue.gif but seriously, all these new phones are SOOOOOOOOO tempting drool.gif

edit: nexus devices get updates directly(just flash yakju firmware) from google, so should have no worries smile.gif

There are a few differents types of gnex model, mainly is yakju and yakjuw, yakju units updates dorectly from google, while yakjuw units updates are managed by samsung doh.gif so needa flash yakju for faster OTA updates

Has anyone noticed any decent modems for carriers in Malaysia?

Trying to see if using different modems do make a difference on signal quality. Currently on LPS baseband, not so good, same with LPQ lol
*
So far on LPQ, no major reception issues so far. Dont notice much difference between modems like elimnjst sweat.gif

Please do report back your opinions on voku and battery life, cuz im having AWESOME battery life on the no hard brick n camera FC RC6, 6 hours standby no wifi/data drops only 1%, and i got 4 hours screen on time on regular usage, which is the only time i reached 4 hrs on ICS. Hopefully pongster start developing redphill for ICS, got 5 hours screen on time on GB back then with that kernel drool.gif

Thinking it might be a teaser video or something, S3 generating hype that has never been this big for an android device, which is definitely good.
