Oh no la, not task killer. Just tweaking the inbuilt one via scripts etc. Not really lack of memory, just once again the theory that free memory boosts performance or something.

It's part of smooth scaling mechanism (that parameter + smooth_offset and some other one lupa nama). Basically the whole mechanism is to make your phone scale more evenly through the frequencies instead of jumping to highest.

But smooth_target alone is the target frequency you're trying to achieve. Then offset and another parameter determines how many steps it goes through before reaching target. So "0" is the highest frequency you have, followed by 1 and 2, etc.

Last time siyah had 1.6 (0), 1.4 (1) and 1.2( 2), so if value is 2, target is to teach 1.2, all is good.
Then he amended and removed 1.6, but didn't amend the smooth_target. So now with 1.4 (0), 1.2 (1) and 1000mhz(2), your cpu keep targeting 1000mhz, ignoring your 1.2

Target is the target which frequency to go to. Translating the numbers (0,1,2,3,etc) is highest frequency is 0.

So when you see target is 0, actually smooth scaling is off. When you see 1, target is 2nd highest frequency. When you see 2, target is 3rd highest.

Thing is, 3rd highest frequency changed from 1,200mhz to 1,000mhz when he removed the 1,600mhz from the kernel

Trying to see if using different modems do make a difference on signal quality. Currently on LPS baseband, not so good, same with LPQ lol
