I get what you mean, thats what wp does too. Notice how the transition when clicking on the live tiles is uneccesarily long to 'hide' the slow loading speeds due to it being single core only.

Overall, animations are more to satisfy the average user and some idiotic iFag-tech-reviewers-that-think-their-iphone-is-the-fastest-when-in-fact-its-slow-loading-speeds-is-masked-by-animations. Older android animations didnt have any fancy animations, thats a partial reason why people said android was slow. To me, im fine with animations, so long it isnt too long.

Apple also likes to be sly sometimes, like in web browser, even though loading bar finished but webpage is still loading and still got loading icon on status bar

Most probably not all user are comfortable flashing with odin. They feel safer if it is an official release from kies.

apex launcher now got pro version also. hmm, hope they don't make the pro and free version too different.

oh those good old days.. sooo naive of me hahaha~

i used to be like that also, waiting for 2.3.6 via kies.
finally an update came, but its still 2.3.3.

i tried to update via kies, its sooo buggy. re tried 3 times to download that 200MB file, always fail and need redownload again. finally got it working on my netbook that has no antivirus. somehow the kaspersky is stopping it from working.

also kies is very buggy. backup my contacts, calender and memo, when wana restore, says fail. keep trying until today also fail. duno what good is kies for. the worst rubbish software, even worst than itunes!

odin on the other hand, fast and stable.

been using HyDrOG3N for 2nd day, felt that battery consumption is much higher, easily heat up, i mean HOT (hotter than using stock rom), not warm! previously using checkrom. advantage of going HyDrOG3N is, FAST, fancy looking, and ICS. Still anyone coming from checkrom to HyDrOG3N? notice a big difference... still wondering should i go back to checkrom, it's much more stable there. anyone having this problem?

Neither of those are firmware version. Official ics for non G version is out just not in Malaysia.
