And now, if I may, abit of feedback regarding the headphones and of V-Moda.
First of, I would like to share my experience dealing with V-MODA as an international customer (Malaysia). I hope this would help some fellow international customers who are thinking of ordering it via V-MODA's website. I ordered the headphones and later found out that I could customize the plates of the headphones. So i ordered the plates and had to pay for shipping again, (obviously). But I called V-Moda up and was attended to buy a very friendly sales associate and requested if they could ship both items together to make it more convenient. And he said that it would be possible and that he would refund me the shipping (I did not ask for the shipping to be refunded but only for the items to be sent together). If i am not mistaken the name of the associate at V-MODA was David Steinfeld.

And now for abit about the headphones, the headphones arrived with the custom plates installed into the headphones as per requested. The first thing I did was obviously to want to know how the headphone sounds like, (they look gorgeous by the way). So I put the headphones on and listen to a few tracks straight out from my iPod like “Feel So Close To You Right Now – by Calvin Harris” , “Without You – Usher * David Guetta” , Michael Buble tracks and Michael Jackson tracks.
Initially the music sounded really good on the first two tracks, and then I thought to myself that maybe cause its bassy music and sort of club music. But then when I started to listen to a few other genres, it sounded good too and I was shocked that it did. And this would be because the headphones are very neutral and theyre good all rounders.
Getting more into how they sound, the highs are abit rolled off, the mids are sweet and the drums spunds from the lower mids have a nice strong “thump” to it. The thing that is unique about the M80 is the reproduction of the bass, the bass is very strong and punchy but incredibly tight. Its very very tight and controlled. There are many headphones that have good bass but they are not as tight and snappy, the real unique thing about the bass though, if that is not unique enough from such a small headphone is that the bass is very segmented and layered, when I was listening to music that has a lot of bass like R&B, or DJ mixed music, I found that the bass had like two segments, meaning to say that it felt akin to a Balanced armature earphone that had two woofers and both of them were producing bass from two different sources in the music, like one produced the bass solely from the kick and another reproduced the bass solely from the bass guitar, and I found that really unique and I would like to know if anyone else here fells the same way. Having said that, I feel like the M80’s sound a lot like the Shure SE530 earphones but with deeper and more punchy bass that is very well controlled. That’s what I think about the V-MODA’s. Would love to know what the others find about the headphone too!

Cheers!

sounds wonderful though.

The customizations cost alot too, and i Choose UPS shipping which is more expensive then the normal options. I have two of these, the other one that I got off Amazon was very very cheap, even less then half of the price of the one that i got directly from V-MODA.

that means even withought the customization also need around 1k? TT cant afford it right now. really hope there is someone that will bring in the m80 into malaysia. btw is the difference between the m80 and the LP in terms of sound quality very big?

The M80 stock with shipping to Malaysia (cheapest shipping) would cost maybe Rm900? I still have another unit as i bought three units of the VMODA M80, two stock and one customized.

I don't think its a matter of difference in terms of sound quality as they are both tuned differently. the LP's are tuned for the more mainstream listeners and are more bass heavy while the M80's are more linear and neutral, good all rounders, balanced, just the way audiophiles like it. They're both tuned differently, not that one is more superior then the other.

It arrived in three days, and the custom plates costs USD70. And I did not use any coupons as I am unaware of them at the time of purchase.. And please, haven't you noticed the astronomical rates that your bank charges you for overseas credit card use?

If you mean headphone amp or dac.
And you dun wan to spend so much on them. Try fiio brand amp and dac. smile.gif

Fiio is a terrible match for the M80.
