Unfortunately i can't this round.  As all my 3 luggages will be filled up because of the bulky stuff like shoes and lego (if i buy).  Weight is not a problem for me, issue is with space.
*
My advice is get star wars, the dino hq base, modular buildings, ninjago. All these are overpriced here, the star war set especially. If you can snag a ucs super star destroyer it would be better, the SSD cost 2k here.

To pack just take everything out of the original box. Lego boxes are mostly air anyway.

Wow sweat.gif , what you planning to build with so many bricks? It is as though you are trying to build a huge modular building with it. Almost 2k to 3k there already.

Can try Brickbastion see if can order such a huge amount.

Anyway, just wan a ask you guys, had you ever visit those DIY shop, all China product, they have brick "lego" also...that day i bought for my son, police station, cost RM39.90. China Brand...quality ok de o!
*
I previously have bought a couple of rip-off China clones before from Enlighten. One was a rip-off of the Black Seas Barracuda and the other was a military tank. The quality for the majority of the bricks is ok but there is a few bricks which is sharp. Then again there are no missing pieces and you get chrome weapons.

The tank was ok with a non-kid friendly spring loaded cannon. sweat.gif All printed bricks and no stickers thumbup.gif

Bout that Enlighten police station, it only costs RM 40? rclxub.gif Got so many stuff like police with riot gear, a station with baseplates (miss those) and 2 vehicles. A real Lego one costs 500 plus and no weapons doh.gif

I see that most of you guys here are a huge fan of minifigs ? Where are the Technic lovers here ? I can only see one that bought a 9397 few pages back.

Anyone owns a Unimog ? That thing fascinates me, such a great engineering design.
*
I own 1 Unimog. Very big and tons of features. flex.gif Highly recommended.
user posted image

Due to budget constraints I limit myself to to yearly flagships as I need the dough for other themes as well. Like last year bought the Unimog, last year the excavator, the year before that Crane Truck. Except for some cases managed to get some old gems like 8868 or 8880 or 8448.

I know another Technic lover and expert MOCer, but recently he is busy as hell with work overseas. sweat.gif

Anyone here bought the other Avengers sets like the huge jet, hulk helicarrier or the wolverine set? Looks like the Orang Besi one is the most popular.

QUOTE(alanyuppie @ May 3 2012, 10:26 AM)
...but hate the price. I'm wondering how the local distributor for LEGO weight and assign the retail price for LEGO... even though their official pricepoint are the same.

For eg.
Creator Set us$25 ... becomes nearly rm110  (thank you! thank you!)

BUT for Avengers set us$25.... becomes >rm150 here . huh ???
Izzit because they (local distributor) foresee the desirability of Avengers (or other licensed sets)... they push their luck and markup waaaaaaaaaaaay higher ?
*
I know it was expensive when I bought it, but the set was too hard to resist anyway. Besides I think this set is the most laku of all the Avengers sets. There seem to be more Magneto+Wolverine+Deadpool sets laying around than this set.

That is why for license sets if got lubang better get it from overseas. If just want the minifig might as well get it from Bricklink. I have not seen the Hulk helicarrier yet, maybe it cost a bomb not many retailers willing to bring it in. I see the Batcave also wondering why so expensive, somemore it is the dumbdown version of the original Lego batcave.

I saw Brickboy got the T-rex with sky crane set for RM 350+ rclxub.gif Nearly pengsan look at that price.

In fact I think the large sets are overpriced. Some examples:-
The Friends house; I bought it for 99,000 Korean Won. Here it costs RM 360 rclxub.gif
Police Station; Overseas cheap only, about RM 400, here RM 550 rclxub.gif
Destiny's Bounty; Believe it or not, only 99,000 Korean Won. Here RM 400+ rclxub.gif
Space Police III Galactic Enforcer; I remembered that time in NZ about RM 400+, here RM 550 rclxub.gif

which country sell the cheapest lego? planning to parallel import them in future for business
*
The US sells the cheapest Lego. Just go to Lego Shop At Home and compare the price here. In fact sometimes those TRU, Target, Walmart all knockdown the price to BOGO or even bigger discount. But take not some out of production Lego is very expensive.

For the Fangpyre truck did you check Isetan? In the whole Mid Valley the place to look out for Lego is Isetan Gardens, Jusco, Metrojaya and TRU. Robinson the Lego stock is very old. If you noticed, Zane got the smallest vehicle compared to the other ninjas. Previously he had the smallest dragon, this time he got a lousy snowmobile laugh.gif I wonder if he is going to kena again next year. But the Fangpyre truck is really huge, bigger than the black ninja's vehicle. I saw the assembled model in TRU MV or Isetan KLCC, forgotten where already.

Unless those fellas in Billund open a Shop at Home in Singapore instead of here. That will be a real booboo on their part. Just like M$ Xbox Live only cater for Singapore only although the market in Singapore is smaller than across the causeway. Till now M$ still lansi and no Xbox Live for Malaysia.

I have seen before Lego ask the people who e-mailed them to Bricklink for the parts they need doh.gif

btw, do you guys know if its cheaper to buy lego overseas compared to MY? going Australia soon so not sure if its cheaper to buy there/cheaper to get international shipping to AUS instead of MY!
*
Australia is NOT cheap. So much so you can see constant ranting from our Aussie brothers about the price of Lego compared to their friends in the US. They even made this picture for comparison.
QUOTE
Ok this has been a hot issue for us Australians for a while, it was somewhat understandable when our dollar was weaker but our local dollar has remained strong for some time now.

So the recent pricing of the marvel superheroes sets was actually offensive. The DC super heroes sets were bad enough (double USD RRP in most cases) that I imported the few I wanted, the marvel sets pricing is even worse and actually more than double in some cases, the below images demonstrates this easier than I can explain it.

Lego will NEVER do a WW2 or current period warship or vehicle due to their history in Europe. As much as I wish Lego to produce an aircraft carrier or a naval destroyer I know that is not going to happen. Even their police officers in the city police sets do not carry any weapons at all. You can bet Lego will not produce an FRU water cannon with teargas launcher.

I didn't know enlighten got a full range of naval ships drool.gif The only other brand I know which produces modern warships is Oxford and most recently the Kre-O battleship. As much as I want to the Kre-O one, it is too expensive for a clone set!

QUOTE(Alucrix @ May 16 2012, 02:39 PM)

The problem with Lego is the box is big. Surely custom take note of the box size.

BTW, even without combine shipping, his Cap set is cheaper than retail price here.
*
Given a choice, I would ask the seller to open the MISB box and repack all the bags into a smaller generic shipping box. Then instructions sent separately. I wonder if it is cheaper or not. If you get the whole thing MISB sure the box very big since Lego boxes are full of air.

I do not know about the quality of the Kre-O bricks but it is sure not any cheaper than Lego. The huge battleship costs RM 300+ which is simply overpriced for a Lego clone. Sure it has figures and what not but as a clone brick it is priced into Lego territory.

Tempted to get the alien ship just to see how are the bricks like. Does the large battleship float? I see it comes with this huge hull piece.
