I have had this report always being closed without being resolved many many times last year, was so damn frustrated but finally thanks to Rizvan I got my problem solved without going through UniFi centre!

how u solve it?
*
My problem was not the HyppTV problem, but rather intermittent packet losses causing Upload Speed to go down to almost zero, and it lasted months. All the UniFi technicians did was to change modem (VDSL2), change port, change slot card at the MDF room of the building, but it never solve the problem yet they closed my report.

After being frustrated for months that there is no solution to my problem, and I have at least another neighbor who confirms having the exact same problem as myself, I actually wrote a lengthy letter and send to politicians and posted in LYN, and that was when it was spotted by Rizvan & he contacted me and helped me solve the problem without going through UniFi call centre. Apparently, there is some damage with the fiber uplink hardware at my building.

Problem is, the TM UniFi technicians then were not well-trained to deal with much more complicated issues. All they did was to troubleshoot the link between customer premise & MDF room, and not the link from MDF room to TM Exchange. If that is outside their jurisdiction, they should have at least reported it to the higher ups who can deal with this rather than closing the report & mark it resolved!

what is the recommended router which can replace our unifi dir-615 ??

which can able to watch iptv as well speed wise ?
*
If you want something low cost & works well, TP-Link TL-WR841ND, cost around RM75 - 90 depending where you buy it. Just download the latest firmware from TP-Link Malaysia website and flash it, and under WAN settings, remember to select UniFi mode instead of Normal mode.

Yes, i learned this during my Uni day. Company usually send their junior technician first, but if they can't troubleshoot the problem they should always report back to higher ups. The company will proceed with more experienced technician.

On the other hand, if my theory is correct, Super Speed Me is just package upgrade right? But with no extra charge and first 3 months bill will be charged same as your current package.
*
This is what the TM technicians should be doing. I don't blame them for not knowing the problem, but if they don't know and could not solve the problem, then they should be reporting to the more senior technicians or engineers to troubleshoot & resolve. Closing report to meet their KPI is totally unacceptable. What's the use of KPI if it can be abused this way to look nice? mad.gif Might as well don't implement KPI!

From what I understand, yes, its just upgrade and after 3 months only you will pay the actual upgraded package. But if you are upgrading from Streamyx to UniFi, then perhaps there might be some charges with regards to non-standard installation.

Suggestion for improving HyppTV (TM UniFi IPTV) Service

1) Run own in-house channels (just like Astro has their in-house channels like Ria, Wah Lai Toi, AEC, etc. TM can consider running 3 channels - Malay, Chinese, Indian channels.

2) Perhaps have an arrangement with Astro to allow us to subscribe to selected Astro in-house channels such as Ria, Wah Lai Toi, etc.

ya, but there is a higher level user called "operator" which has more privileges than the "admin" user.

Also, it is not wise to leave the password empty for admin. Better to change it, and also change the operator password, but first you need to find out what is the operator password.

Hi, is there anyone counter same problem as me?

I've change my router from DIR 615 to TPLINK WR841ND ver 7.2 yesterday and my connection is getting worse below than 1mb ,
i've follow klseet step at  http://klseet.com/index.php?option=com_con...e&id=7&Itemid=6

and i live at Highrise building (7th Floor)

here is the result by using ;-
1) DIR 615 = user posted image
2) TPLINK WR841ND = user posted image

Please do pm me if you guys have any solutions regarding it, Thanks
*
First, are you connected using Wireless?

And if you are using Wireless, which wireless channel are you using?

Install the software called inSSIDer and check what are the least used channel in your area and configure your 841ND to use that channel.

I can assure you that is not the router issue, the router is working fine as how it is suppose to be. Someone could be hogging your internet connection or just chances are at that point of time u doing the speedtest the connection was slow.

I been on TPLink 841 for more then 7 months now. I never switched off the router from the day it came out of the box. IPTV is connected to it, my seedbox, network bluray media player, NAS server. Sometimes all of it is running at 1 go, and not forgetting my smartphone/tab and also 2 PC's are connected to it.

Here is the speedtest results. Take note that 100+ torrents are seeding in the background.

I never have any problem with my 841ND too. In fact I have two units, one for my UniFi and another for Streamyx at my kampung. You could be right it could be due to network issue, but if this goes on without solution, perhaps it is likely a faulty unit, and so need to claim for warranty.

Perhaps you might want to try use the official firmware that supports UniFi?

The TL-WR1043ND_V1_120210 firmware also can use for UNiFi or only TL-WR1043ND_V1_110906?
*
I believe the newer one can, but not sure about it. You may try it out, otherwise, if not then flash it with the older one.

Okay, I just got my unifi VIP10 installed two days ago. Since I can't get the wifi signal at all when I was up in my room upstairs, I asked the technician to come back and replaced the TM router to Cisco E1500.
I was testing the download speed on mediafire and comparing it with Streamyx 1MBPS package in my room:

Streamyx: 80 kb/s
Unifi: 150 kb/s

Is this normal? It's just ridiculous since I didn't get even 10% of the advertised speed. I'm so freaking pissed right now.
*
Does TM now provide Cisco routers?

hi
should have read this tered before applying for unifi but better late than nvr

the appointment date is on 28/4.im living in a flat 5 storey high n i dont hv a tv,my copper connection inside my house need replacing(or is it another slowmo time from streamyx)...
any advice as what should i expect and prepare when the technician come install everything...i really dont watch tht many tv unless they offer  EPL n NBA
thanks
*
For 5-storey flat, I believe they will pull fibre cable straight to your house instead of using VDSL (phone line).

If you do not have a TV, then just leave that aside. They will install and ensure the Internet & VoIP phone works.

But get ready extension cord enough for the BTU, router & DECT phone.

Are you using the original router supplied by TM?  I have the same problem on Monday using TP Link 841ND, then I use back the Dlink 615 supplied by TM okay can access internet.  Change back to TP Link cannot access, then I log into the router and change the wireless channel and it works - touch wood until now.
*
I suspect this is possibly wireless interference issues rather than UniFi connection issue. The next time you have this problem, try use Ethernet cable to connect and access Internet see if it works.

As for choosing wireless channel, set to the least used channel. Although it does not completely prevent interference since each channel has overlapping frequency, you could at least minimize interference. Use the software called inSSIDer to look for which channels are very widely used in your area. At least at my place, I noticed that channels 1, 6, 11 are most popular. Channels 3 and 9 are also quite widely used. While channel 4, mostly I am the only one using, occasionally noticed 2 others but very weak signals, so it doesn't interfere.

Bro we are in the same boat, my VIP20 upload speed drop from 20mbps to below 10mbps. You can try call unifi service center to solve your problem. I don't have the desire to deal with those so call customer service representative so i leave it be right now  yawn.gif  .
*
Some test servers could be problematic, try different local test servers & see the result.

ya  i will tonight as it only happens during 9pm+ to 1am. Sometimes when i do speedtest it can be high until 400+ but sometimes it is low, but the speed stuck when doing speedtest.
*
I used to have a similar problem with high packet loss that affects the upload speed last year for months... apparently, its due to some issues with the fiber transmitter or something at my condo.

I have exactly the same problem.

Btw, update regarding my call to TM yesterday,
they were so effective where they came to my house to morning - BUT ... I am not at home!!!

The problem is they say they will call me to make an appointment 1st before they come.
They even sms me and told me they will call me within 24hours for an appointment...

but no one call me for an appointment..

When i got home just now, i got a card where they stated they came, and i was not at home sad.gif
So sad... means i gonna suffer constant disconnection for whole day perhaps until the day they re-visit..
*
By right they are suppose to call you before they come, but there are some technicians who don't, they just come and assume somebody is at home.
