D800 i think is built for non-fast low light work i think. if u want a fast low light affordable FX body then d700 ftw!
im glad i didnt wait for d800 though |

QUOTE(bUGG @ May 23 2012, 06:29 PM) I sold my D3s with 2 additional original battery for RM10.6k. Body is in absolute condition. But my shutter count almost 250k. i agree. but i shall stick with what i have for now lah. gear improve but diri sendiri still newbie no point also If u r not doing commercial shoot, D3s is a better choice. QUOTE(Calvin Seak @ May 23 2012, 07:06 PM) His pictures are nice too! You should have introduced yourself and make friends with him haha! My new glass! Still not used to the manual focusing of carl zeiss mechanics! Jchue was spot on =p » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « isnt this more expensive then nikon 35 1.4? hahahah nice lens btw. zeiss's are epic his pics quite nice true. no one else went to take the cosplay pics at tropicana? eh if im not mistaken, my friend works for that HT production company... they do gravure shots in malaysia.. QUOTE(Everdying @ May 23 2012, 10:33 PM) D800 is interesting, just that the batt life bugs me, rated around 850 shots iirc. U will need 4 batteries to get almost the same amount as D4 but still, d4 is Nikons new flagship model. They prolly put some fancy gizmo in it to get that 4k batt life.while D3s can go 4000 shots. if D800, add on MBD-12 rm1k and another en-el15 rm150, means total already rm10,650...and it still wont have half the batt life of a D3s. |

QUOTE(jchue73 @ May 24 2012, 03:24 AM) Yes. Usually wide open, the f/1.4 lenses exhibit a little colour fringing or chromatic aberations. The newer Nikon lenses like the 24mm f/1.4 and the 35mm f/1.4 exhibit less. Not too sure with the Zeiss thought. Nothing that LR or Nikon Capture cannot solve. But this is the only thing the firmware update fixedOh, BTW if you have a D700, there's a new firmware update v1.03 that came out 2 days ago. http://nikonasia-en.custhelp.com/app/answe...d/7478/theme/my 'An issue that, in some very rare cases, caused images to be extremely under-exposed has been resolved' |

D600 is coming out and Nikon says its the entry level FX model, affordable to normal consumers. how much do you think they will price it? D800 is 10k. D7000 is 4k. D600 is in between? so basically it might have the same price as D700 which is 6k. less features but same price...

Using latest firmware better than using outdated firmware... right? haha true that. but iv never updated camera firmware before.. i hope it doesnt screw anything up since i have a job this sunday..QUOTE(celciuz @ May 26 2012, 12:00 AM) Only thing I dislike about 70-200, the weight... haha! Oh well, I decided on 16-35, 35 and 70-200. why not just 1635, 35, and 85? who you want to look at la with 70200 I'll be on my belt system... don't wanna carry that much burden LOL. Light is best Learnt my lesson during BIMS... its troublesome to change lens on my FS400AW. |
