I remember last time (back in year 2000) when 8448 was so famous, there was a monthly competition for submission of 8448 MOC, host my Lego itself (or some website). I remember there were some very nice submission. Most of them maintain the chassis, and only modify the body.

And there was also a limited edition yellow 8448, which was really cool. Wonder if the website still exist.

Wow.... space shuttle carrier, you mean an even bigger plane to carry your existing space shutter? shocking.gif Totally wicked... but I like the idea. thumbup.gif Which is why you need the linear actuator, as a grip to hold the space shuttle. But 3 of them? But there is not much technic set with white brick, except for NXT, and I think the limited edition boeing. rolleyes.gif sweat.gif

After all the poisoning, I'm reconsidering my decision of letting go my bulldozer but keep it for myself. laugh.gif Now kinda regret for letting go my NXT... unsure.gif

You mean like a launch pad? Wow....... We shall all wait anxiously for your build. drool.gif

A bit sayang to let go my bulldozer. After reading the review on brickset, kinda agree with the people there. It's a masterpiece, with a lot of goodies (2 IR receiver, 4 motors). thumbup.gif It's probably the best set ever since 2007. IIRC, it was also being awarded as best toy of the year. The technic line-up since 2008 and 2009 was a bit disappointing. I didn't get any of them. Looking forward to the front loader, but review isn't that encouraging. The crane truck also seems to have it's own share of dilemma.

Anyway, I think there is another forumer here who has an extra bulldozer, not sure if he want to sell or not, can try and ask him. wink.gif

I just notice these sets r for 16+ years old... even older than thos Technic set.. is it even more complicated than Technic set? sweat.gif

Show us some picture of your bulldozer!! Mine still inside the box. Haven't got the time and mood and display place for that yet. It is really a cool set. NXT is rated for 16+ sweat.gif sweat.gif it's NXT equivalent.

paanjang16: 2000+ pieces with complex building technique? I think blocks can only be as challenging as bottom-up right... correct me if I'm wrong.. laugh.gif

RM70 -100 (very small set, less than 50 pcs, with lego minifig)
RM100-200 (moderate set, usually 100-150 pcs)
RM200-400 (moderate set 200 - 300 pcs)
RM400-800 (large set)

Hey what front loader you're talking about?  unsure.gif  Model #?

I just checkout the video review at youtube. This toy is huge, larger than what I have imagine. Should cost around RM500, or more, with 1000+ pcs. The exceptional long rear body doesn't look authetic, (due to the motor, hide inside it), plus the mechanism design for the scoop is really really bad. I don't really like the design, seems a bit rigid and less lively. sad.gif

Anyone going to order from online ?

I have Mindstorm RIS 1.5 set. However, the power cables (rubber) start to disintegrate, exposing the wire-metal cable.

I want to buy replacement cables, as well as some accessories like temperature sensor.

Or anyone has any idea how to pry open the power-cables and do own cable replacement, soldering ?  hmm.gif
*
You can try getting heatshrink or cable sleeves from lowyat plaza, modders normally use those. I have a some here, but mine are really small one.

Why not post a picture of the damage part? If it is repairable, I can give you a hand.

Look at the short cable, the metal wire is exposed due to the rubber disintegrate by itself. You can also see the cable like turn white spots.

I store in cool and dry place, don't know why like water stain marks.

Wow... that look bad. The silver thingy is it the wire or just a shield? Erm, nothing much can be done, the brick is holding on to the rubber insulation, unless we cut and reposition the rubber, it won't hold... sad.gif

I am using my Monster dino IR receiver and motor. My bulldozer I have not dissembled it yet coz too big. The batteries I am using is the Carrefour home brand batteries, so not as powerful as the energizer batteries. Also use it to play with my dozer before I put it in my crane truck.

But I did dissemble my 8448 supercar already. The technic pins produced for that set is super strong!! sweat.gif Sometimes need pliers to remove!
*
Dude, never use a plier to remove any lego part. It would leave mark on the pin, that's not cool. Nowadays the tightness of lego stud don't feel that consistent, some of them are just so-so only. Afraid it may get loose after few session of dismantling.

Never tried direct post from US. It's going to be tax, not sure how much. Which set you bought, and how much was the courier fee?

yaphong, your courier more expensive than your set? You should have bought the largest set... tongue.gif

For Mindstorm NXT2, try check at those large toy'r'us store in KL, try ask the supervisor there. Last time I check, they keep NXT 1 inside a glass cabinet (Mid Valley branch)

8285 and 8275 is 2006 and 2007 model if not mistaken. I think you can't find it anymore in store, your best option is ebay. I think 8258 still available on shelf, last year model, IIRC.

I think the excavator is 2008/09 model. If you look around, maybe (just maybe) there are still leftover.
