I think because having an AM (travel 140 to 160) is more value-for-money.
With a 160, you can use it for XC and also DH (but must have balls lah). With an XC specific bike, you're gonna have a bad time if you bring it to a DH trail. With a DH specific bike, you're gonna have a bad time riding on XC courses.
