Ride tarmac until you find pondok with bunch of people lepaking. The trail head is there. If you don't see it, ask around, they'll show you the way.

In 2010, it rained before the event. So, it was muddy like hell. Tires won't even roll because of the mud clogging between rear tire and seat post, and fork and front tire. One girl, IINM, broke her hand because of people pushing around near the trail head. It ended around 1-2am. Give aways were soooo awesome. 1st, 2nd, 3rd place got pots. It was a good ride. If you haven't try night off-road before, this is the time. Make sure you have very good lighting.

Actually, wearing clipless is not that hard. Start off with Shimano clipless pedals and get cleats with multi release points. And don't forget to set the spring tension to soft (-). Wearing clipless definitely helps pedalling.

is it me or it's a common thing to pump tire with presta valve is really pain in the ass? i have the topeak mini dual dxg and other normal brand hand pump both are bicycle mount capable type.

my little bro is using the schrader valve (like those car/motobike valve) and it's fairly easy to pump the tire to the max normal pressure. on presta valve I able only to pump at "safe back home" pressure.

Get Lezyne mini floor pump. It cost a bit more but you won't regret it.

hi all,

wanted to you sifu's about saddles...

i saw this gel thingy that is add on top of the seat to make it more cushy...has like two hills and a big longkang in between...i guess for better blood circulation or something. Its one of those you just slip it on the seat like some kinda condom  nod.gif

After my 45km ride in ulu langat i felt that my btm part was going a bit numb and so was my hands...i did try to stand ride as much as i cud which further took out a lot of my energy..the more i stood the faster my energy drained  ohmy.gif

so thus the reason i'm thinking of getting a seat that could let me sit a little longer and get more circulation and comfort for the long exercising rides.

So any opinions, recommendations and riding techniques to share?  smile.gif

thanks in advance!  notworthy.gif

Unfortunately, saddle choice differs from one individual to another. You got to try and error for this one.
For your hands, get a better fork I guess? A high-end fork can soak up the small bumps so that your hands don't need to.

Try moving your hands around periodically, not keeping them in the same place the entire time. Bar ends help in this area, although they seem to be a bike fashion no-no these days (I still use them). Or try looking up Ergon grips. Numb hands not related to how good your fork is.

If you're getting saddle pain in the middle soft tissue area, a saddle with longkang might help. Softer is not necessarily better.

Try with a harder rigid fork, go down Steroid Hill at 15 km/h or more. Go try. Please. Let me know how it feels after that.

They'd be painful from the harsh vibrations. Not numb due to lack of blood flow.

After 45KM ride is it flat like road or off road where there are loads of humps and bumps?

Yalor... didn't think of this. I assumed off-road... hmm.gif
