I always purchase an empty figure and separate accessories so I can make my own. Sometimes, I purchased old figures dating back around 1999-2001 and loot it for figures/accessories since most of em' are under RM150 (BBI ones are the best). BTW, making your own figure will allow you to save around RM120-RM180 out of RM300 (the average cost of these action figures). You'll need a good amount of knowledge about the Military if you wanna make one, unless you're going for a different theme. I'll post some pictures later.

As promised, here it is, pictures for some of the action figure collections I have. Almost all of the action figures in my collection are either made from separately purchased accessories, via purposefully 'looting' other figures or customizing existing ones. All three figures you saw here are self-made. Originally, I wrote a crappy intro for this post about some fictional SAS room entry as well as a couple of extensive info, but for no logical explanation at all, when I press 'Add Reply', I was suddenly logged off. When I press the 'Back' button to salvage my post, nothing happened. There goes 45 minutes of my life and perhaps another 10-15 minutes retyping and reuploading all this. (T_T)
Feel free to ask me about anything you see here (except the last image ![]() The operative on the left wears heavy protection while the other on the right wears the standard gear of the SAS. Weapons are that of the H&K MP5A5 with laser pointer to assist aiming in 50m or less and dual mag clips to increase reload speed during a heated firefight. Respirators are Avon SF-12, with the other having anti-flash eyepiece. ![]() ![]() ![]() Equipment from left to right: Groinplate, stun grenades, handgun mag pouch, MP5 mag pouch, handgun holster for H&K P7M13. ![]() Lurk around silently in the shadows elsewhere Sam Fisher. Here comes another stealth entity! ![]() ![]() Handgun is obviously that of H&K Mk. 23, used by Navy SEALS and various western Special Forces. ![]() The M4 Carbine you see on this picture is the SOPMOD version, manufactured by Knight's Armament Company. In the SOPMOD version, the standard carrying handle has been replaced with a Picantiny Rail for easier scope mounting (scope in picture is a Trijicon 3.5x), while the plastic grip covering the rifle's barrel can be removed to accomodate various accessories from infrared/nightvision sight to a handgrip. ![]() Another close-up of the Knight's M4 SOPMOD, this time with the silencer in view. Also in the picture: 'drop-down' handgun holster, kneepads, stun grenade. This is a 1/1 scale living, breathing, eating, shitting, porn downloading... ![]() Oh, you'll need a license if you wanna equip him with 1/1 scale firearms. Choices are limited to only handguns and shotguns for this country. Additional cost of food and shelter not included. This post has been edited by Hangmen: Dec 22 2005, 02:20 PM |

QUOTE(vincentlee83 @ Dec 21 2005, 07:05 PM) Nope. The respirators are from Dragon Models. A lot of my action figures are a mix of Dragon Models or BBI, and a little bit of 21st Century Toys. The quality of the latter is horrible, so I would usually take only the clothings and headgear from 21st Century stuff. |

QUOTE(Hangmen @ Jan 2 2006, 10:57 AM) Its an ACOG scope? Oh man, I fail Google Image Search. ACOG= Advance Combat Optical Gunsight. Trijicon's the manufacturer...they make everything from red dot to reflex to longer range optics.*Self-destructs* I'm always experiencing problems trying to differentiate between ACOG and Trijicon. They always look somewhat similar, but I guess if it's not mounted on the carrying handle, then it's an ACOG. ACOG scope. Trijicon scope. Hmm, it has 'ACOG' written on it. Same makers, or is a Trijicon simply a different variant of ACOG? I've played with the ACOG (on an airsoft Steyr AUG) and they're really hard to use in low light conditions but unless reverting back to the traditional gunsight on top of the scope. Mounting mechanism doesn't matter.... it mounts on RIS rails or even the carry handle's holes. Anyway....gian already...tonight photoshoot...take a photo op with the troops Edit: The scope on the first pic is a lil more interesting. It's an optical sight ...probably 3-4X for mid-range engagement...300m's... and a reflex sight mounted on top for the close and personal encounters. ![]() This post has been edited by sniper on the roof: Jan 2 2006, 11:26 AM |

![]() BBI Delta Force 1st SFOD DELTA "Striker", customized with plenty of additional accessories and other additional parts. I like to call it 'Overload Custom', since I attached/equipped him with as much accessories as possible until there is no more space left. Note the shotshells on his magazine pouch and ![]() Closeup view of the M4A1 Carbine, attached with an AIMPOINT and another unidentified scope plus a Remington M870 shotgun attached. The purpose of the shotgun isn't entirely for delivering heavy stopping power at close ranges, but also for situations in which both hostile individuals and civillians engaged in civil disobidience were involved. The attached M870 is especially useful for opening doors, using special 'Masterkey' buckshot rounds. ![]() H&K Mk. 23 SOCOM, an offensive combat pistol favoured by various US Special Forces as well as others abroad. ![]() Water canteens, survival knife, radio pouch as well as other additional pouches. Since Pro-Tec helmets normally used by SEALs and Deltas are not bulletproof, I figured that he might find that helmet in handy when things went from bad to worse. ![]() Additional magazine pouches strapped on his left. ![]() Closeup on his right side. Lookin' good. ![]() Guns don't kill people, its cancer that kills people! One of the many use I found with BBI's custom expression mechanism. What is missing now is making him do the 'invisible sandwich' pose. BTW, I ordered a bunch of stuff related to 1/6 scale action figures from XL Shop and blogged about it at my blog in A Huge Gaping Internet. Check it if you're interested. |

QUOTE(Rusty Nail @ Jul 16 2006, 07:21 PM) ^wicked sick Thanks. i really missed those gulf war cammo. too bad that mordern desert camo is those plain shades of brown patches. Ofcourse, that's before ACU and MAPART was introduced. Those old 'chocolate chip' camouflage are now available in surplus, issued to the New Iraqi Army as well as the New Iraqi Police. Now I want to find additional action figures with middle-eastern faces and another 'chocolate chip' camo BDU, standard-issued dust goggles, tan boots and vests compatible with banana clips so I can create soldiers of NIA. I already have helmets and AKs. Once I received a 2nd hand digital camera from my dad and having some extra time, I was thinking of opening a site about my collection. Playing around with lighting effects ala Doom 3, using 1/6 scale action figures. Some of the images were blurred on purpose in order to achieve the right effect.

I was having too much fun with the new digital camera I got, so I went a bit overboard 'playing' Doom 3. xD
I didn't bother to read the camera's manual then. So yes, after reading up on the subject of the best settings for taking closeups, it immediately chopped my boner in ten cuts. Nonetheless, I learn a great deal of lesson from this photoshoot and hopefully my next attempt at 'producing' Doom 3 effects won't suck. Anyway, with a digital camera in my possession, I redid the photoshoot for the Delta Force "Striker" Overload Custom as seen in my blog. I posted it in the One Sixth Warrior Forum. Check it out. The pics are also posted in the Xl-Shop forum. |

I was tempted to get the Lords of The Sith, Anakin Skywalker Sith Apprentice. But was turn off when I read on their website (www.sideshowtoy.com) that the cybernectic arm was quite fragile.
Darth Maul looks freakin awesome, but I'll hold out for Vader. Going to compare it with the RAH version. |

Yeah, this hobby really sucks a lot of dough from your pocket. I too have problems trying to balance out the amount of cash I need to save for other things, like 1/1 scale gears and computer parts for future rig. RM300 worth of spending a month is still considered 'not hardcore enough'.
And Wifi, I'm still frickin' jealous of your P90. >:( |

SWEET! My earliest and latest kitbash: SAS Operative Version 1 (middle 2004) and Version 2 (recently just last week).
Version 1: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The first SAS version was made before I had any knowledge of ordering/buying things online, so the parts available to me for this early kitbash of mine were extremely limited. Thus, I was able to achieve very miniscule results in terms of kitbash details and quality. Nonetheless, being one of my first, I'd say it ain't such a bad start. Version 2: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Compared to Version 1, Version 2 had shown just how much I had matured in this hobby, and, now that I have the knowledge of getting the best stuff online, plus the ever-increasing qualities of 1/6 items and accessories, I was able to do something that I couldn't imagine doing two years ago. Umm, greetings.
I stumbled upon this place by accident. Just thought I'd introduce myself. I've been buying 12" figures since DML first introduced them. Then when CY Girls were introduced, I mainly strayed to fem figs (some people think this is too weird). I also own some Star Wars figs. Unlike most 12" owners, I'm not really a big fan of military figs. Oh and I'm not a hardcore buyer either, I mainly customise, kitbash and occasionally scratch build 1:6 characters, clothes or accessories. The main thing I try my best to do with this hobby is what I call the 3 Ps: Posing, Photographing & Photoshopping my figs. Cheers! |

whow.. sweet stuff hangmen.
btw, isn't it over kill to have a shotgun and a sledge hammer at one's back? i think that that fella can handle well without the sledge hammer since the shotgun itself is a 'universal key' welcome kin, do post pics of your collection |

QUOTE(Rusty Nail @ Sep 14 2006, 05:39 PM) whow.. sweet stuff hangmen. Nah, it ain't overkill to have both of those in his back. The shotgun itself can run out of ammo; a sledgehammer doesn't. It's more efficient (and cost-effective) to use a blunt object to open doors and windows unless rapid entry is required. During the infamous 1980 Operation Nimrod, The Iranian embassy was outfitted with bulletproof glass and, bulletproof or not, the sledgehammer could simply smash through it. I'd imagine that shotshells would have a hard time trying to penetrate through as they are easily stopped by the bulletproof glass. Another plus point for the sledgehammer: it allows you to pretend yourself as a Space Marine Force Commander! btw, isn't it over kill to have a shotgun and a sledge hammer at one's back? i think that that fella can handle well without the sledge hammer since the shotgun itself is a 'universal key' "Faith and duty!" Right now, I'm trying to gather enough money for my next kitbash/project. I'll probably do either: a) Buy another figure and similar gears as the SAS operative but with a slightly different configuration (a Class IV SAS/SDU vest maybe). That dude really needs an assault buddy. I need some G36Cs for this too. b) Finish my US Army Ranger kitbash. He needs just a few more things to complete him. Or... c) Consider upgrading my old BBI GSG-9 figure with new parts. It's true what Sniper on the Roof said about this hobby: it's really sucking your pocket dry every month! |

Hello!
Hmm... lots of 12in military... sorry not collecting those.... but I enjoyed the close-up Predator pics... however, very alarmed at the pricing... guess I won't get one anytime soon... More into sci-fi and fantasy 12in like Star Wars series and some others series made by Sideshow Collectibles. Anyone else here collect these? Anyway, I'm inviting all 12in collectors to meet at this upcoming Movie Collectibles Bazaar on Saturday at Cineleisure Damansara. Bazaar info is here: www.cinemaonline.com.my I'll be setting up stall there for collectors to meet, show their collections, and trade amongst each other. All 12in collectors are welcome to drop by at 2pm. Bring a custom kitbash along to share Thanks. |

nice stuff , this thread ...
i used to do cy girls , but then i needed money and sold them all on evil bay. had 2 Perfect Body Asians thing i don't reallt like about cy girls is their proportions , too big compared to others. But it's good if your collection is mainly guys , because the clothes fit easily. I'm currently outfitting a momoko doll with combat fatigues |

QUOTE(Rusty Nail @ Oct 8 2006, 11:43 AM) OMG!!! Unfortunately, it ain't such a good-looking AUG. It came from 21st Century Toys Delta Force CQB (my first 12" action figure). I know the pairing of foreign weapon with US SpecOps seems odd, but I do know that as with any SpecOps in the world, they're trained to use foreign weapons. Also, the AUG is used by US coastguards (surprise) due to its reliability.Styer AUG!!! hangmen, who do you have to kill to get that AUG!?!?! blardy hell, i can never find one here. |

Product review:
Ironic isn't it, for someone who was so anti VH (Very Hot), the Hot Toys clone to be buying a VH Navy Seal Night Ops Jumper. But of course, my actions are justifiable in the sence i'm a kitbasher reborn and that i cannot wait for Hot Toys to release their weapon set which it release date never announced. ![]() crapy looking box, still it does the job of keeping it's content from spilling out. overview VH latest product is a figure-less Navy Seal Night Ops Jumper which means that the nude body is not included. at RM240 (from ultimate toys) for this thing, i wouldn't call it cheap although it's atleast RM50 cheaper from Hot Toys and RM80 cheaper from Toy Soilder which is famous for figure-less uniform sets. ![]() no figure, parts and uniform only. comes with a picture cum poster. quality It's a no brainer that VH products are VERY MUCH inferior to big players like Hot Toys and Toy Soilder. The puny clip buckle on the helmet are nothing more but stubs. and those stubs broke on the very first day i put it on my figure. though i do have replacement clips buckle to replace those stubs, it's the people who don't and those who are still very new to this kit bashing to stay away from VH products at the moment. because to replace every single stub is not cheap. This set comes with M4A1 carbine and a LAW. the weapons are not weathered. Not that i'm bothered since i like my weapons unweathered and clean looking. I've always wanted a LAW to complete a bash of mine which has been WIP for almost 2 years. As for the carbine though, i've scavange its parts to beef up a SAW. ![]() LAW, the MAIN reason for my purchase however, all is not lost. VH did a surprisingly well job on the body armor and uniform which is bbi/master craft like in quality. the only difference is the velcro used by VH doesn't seems to be sticy enough and keep pelling off. guess i'll need to replace that too. but overall sewing of the vest is clean and no loose threads (which dragon is famous of). final verdict VH is definitely not for amature or beigners since lots of parts need to be reworked. after all the time and money spent on improving it, might as well buy orifinal stuff from Hot Toys and Toy Soilder. Lastly, it's NOT CHEAP. This post has been edited by Rusty Nail: Oct 9 2006, 10:21 AM |

I too bought VH stuff (VH SDU Breacher) to do some fancy kitbashing on my SAS figure seen a few pages ago. Lucky that you're able to find a place to buy VH much cheaply. As for me, the only place I know where I can get VH is via ordering from Singapore. That cost me RM300!
Nonetheless, everything is same as what you said: - Inferior quality compared to Hot Toys/Dragon/other superior 1/6 brands. - Stubs that are easily broken/already broken! D:< - Vest is actually quite good. Just cut off the excess threads. Nothing wrong with my VH SDU velcros though. Sticks hard. For kitbashers like us, VH actually ain't so bad. You got tons of stuff at a slightly lesser price range (HT tend to start around RM380~RM420) than HT at the sacrifice of quality. But still, most of the stuff looks good and passable enough. As if you need authentic engraving for something small you won't care about the microdetails. At least you got tons of loose items to make profit out of. For 1/6 gunsmiths, the relatively inferior 1/6 firearms (LOL my VH MP5 looks mirrored) which came with VH is a great way to start experimenting on making 1/6 custom guns. Also, if you do get a 1/6 action figure when buying a VH (like the VH SDU series), throw it away ASAP before your eyeballs gets fuxxored by its horrible quality! wow!!!
nice alien, lone wolf. the only thing missing is bodies of space marines. bwt, there's some 1/6 backpack that i'm going to let go, because i've no use for it. 1) Hot Toys desert camo, near mint condition. with stuffings. 2) Very Hot navy seal jumper black back pack. with stuffings 3) Very Hot parachute (with spare) 4) Dragon olive back pack. ok-ish condition. stuffings removed. any takers before i put it up in garage sales? pictures will be uploaded later. |

I'm so excited till i don't have the patience to shrink the picture. This is my first purchase of candy toys and suddenly it felt like christmas again.
![]() ![]() opening the box... ![]() Every smaller box comes with: 1/6 gun gun stand presumely manual (it's in jap) 2 chewing gum ![]() Tadaa... i've noticed that the scope was placed wrongly. it wasn't hard to remove it and refit it again. lots of parts are snap on. ![]() after opening the other 7 boxes.... (I've decided not to open the duplicates since i'll be selling/trading them later) ![]() Fellow GSG9 posing with his new toys. Product Comparison ![]() Red Horse (top) VS Candy Toy (Bottom) The world gun collection is bigger compared to redhorse. however, i've difficulty gettig sharp image of both guns which the black color of both guns could be the factor. anyway, the candy toy looks better than Reh horse custom AK since the candy toy AK is weathered and quality of bbi standards. ![]() Dragon (bottom) VS Candy Toy (Top) it's a no brainer who's the winner here. again the candy toy PSG-1 is bigger than existing 1/6 weapons especially from old timers like Dragon. Although this PSG-1 looks better than my old PSG-1, it still cannot challenge Dragon's PSG-1 where the stock is adjustable and it comes with lense cover. but then again, it's a candy toy, can't expect much from it. ![]() Konami (top) VS Candy Toy (bottom) The FAMAS that i got for comparison is from Konami's Metal Gear Solid 1 action figure which is 21C in detail, but it uses high quality plastic which gives a seramic feel to it. Being put side by side, it doesn't take much to tell which is the winner, the candy toy beats konami's FAMAS hands down i terms of quality and details. the only complain that i have is the mag for the candy toy famas is loose and keeps dropping. something that can be fixed with some glue. ![]() Dragon (Bottom) VS Candy Toy (Top) Another no brainer to guess who's the winner here. in terms of scale, the candy toy didn't differ much and almost the same with dragon's P90. unlike the earlier PSG-1 comparison. Bottom Line Yes, it's no where near Dragon's or hottoys quality. but RM168 for 10 weapons, that's RM16.80 per weapon and the quality of it is acceptable (for it's price). Hay guys, I received the World Weapon Collection yesterday (very fast!). It happened to be the last one. Like Rusty, I got one extra P90 and another FAMAS (no MG42 ;_; ), but fcuk that, a P-FCUKIN'-90 AT LAST! I'll probably blog about it on the weekends.
PS: as for the taste of the cheapo candy that came along with it: ![]() ...pretty much sums everything up. This post has been edited by Hangmen: Oct 19 2006, 03:44 AM |

QUOTE(ahhoe80 @ Oct 19 2006, 09:23 AM) - Wielded by a killer lolita assassin.- Appeared in several favourite videogames. - Ergonomic-wise, a comfortable weapon to carry and shoulder. - Ultra-simple, oil free field stripping and maintainance. - FN Herstal's 5.7 x 28mm aka SS190 calibre: armor-piercing rounds that doesn't overpenetrate; 'tumbles' inside its target for better stopping power. H&K's 4.6 x 30mm penetrates better with lesser recoil, but tend to overpenetrate with less stopping power. It's obvious who's the P90 fanboy here. QUOTE(Wifi_One @ Oct 19 2006, 11:55 PM) I'm gonna upgrade my existing figure. Going for a SAS 2.5: changes in the primary firearm (now a P90) and the holster from a Very Hot to a bona fide Hot Toys SAS/SDU holster. I haven't deposited my pay to Action Figure 2002 for the holster and other accessories, so I'm gonna have to wait a bit since there's no time to do any kind of payment deposit right now (traffic is bloody in my place). I asked the seller to hold on to my requested items. |

rusty nail and hangmen, i finally jumped into the bandwagon by purchasing a SDU breacher (Very Hot) from Ultimate Toys in Amcorp mall yesterday.
the box cost me 240 bucks. at first the guy there (forgot his name) recommended me to get that Special Ops which rusty nail got but i was determined to get the SDU. he offered me the pointmaker and the breacher, i finally chose this one. he offered me 230 per unit IF i were to take both the breacher and pointmaker i will give pictures on what they give in the box but hangmen, could u give me advise on which to put on and which not to cos there are just so many items. how come the bulletproof vest is not level 4 like those Hot Toys? i tried putting the vest but the head seems to be too big for the vest to slot in, so i experimented and pulled the head, then the head pop off! pls do advise... im not sure what u guys called by good quality or not as im a newbie but the vests are alright.. its just that the equipments for the lad looks very delicate. i will try post some pictures becos i still dunno which to put on where haha.. |

QUOTE(ahhoe80 @ Oct 27 2006, 11:15 AM) rusty nail and hangmen, i finally jumped into the bandwagon by purchasing a SDU breacher (Very Hot) from Ultimate Toys in Amcorp mall yesterday. Er, actually, Very Hot is simply a cheaper, pirated version of Hot Toys. Both me and Rusty agree it's quite 'good' because me and him had been into 1/6 action figure for a very long time (I think Rusty is much longer; I started back in 2001) and liked it for the tons of accessories it provided which makes kitbashing possible. Since VH is a lot more into mass-production than HT's limited edition release, the number of those in production are much higher, thus more accessories to kitbash yourself a whole team at a cheaper price. However, Very Hot isn't a good brand to start with because its quality, though generally good, isn't on par with the likes of Dragon, BBI and Hot Toys.the box cost me 240 bucks. at first the guy there (forgot his name) recommended me to get that Special Ops which rusty nail got but i was determined to get the SDU. he offered me the pointmaker and the breacher, i finally chose this one. he offered me 230 per unit IF i were to take both the breacher and pointmaker i will give pictures on what they give in the box but hangmen, could u give me advise on which to put on and which not to cos there are just so many items. how come the bulletproof vest is not level 4 like those Hot Toys? i tried putting the vest but the head seems to be too big for the vest to slot in, so i experimented and pulled the head, then the head pop off! pls do advise... im not sure what u guys called by good quality or not as im a newbie but the vests are alright.. its just that the equipments for the lad looks very delicate. i will try post some pictures becos i still dunno which to put on where haha.. Once you're into 1/6, be prepared to spend more. Anyway, my recommendation is: 1. Get yourself a loose Dragon Models or BBI figure. I think it should be widely available in KL. I live in KK, Sabah so I don't know much about availability in the Peninsular. In any case, stuff should be easier to get there. 2. Remove ALL of the accessories on the poor-quality Very Hot stock figure. Trust me, the only thing that the stock VH figure could do is to substitute paper bullseye in a firing range! 3. You know what to do: transfer all that equipment from VH to the loose DM/BBI figure you bought. Most of the equipment should fit well except the VH gloves, which would only fit flexible hands commonly found of Hot Toys' figures. If the boots are too crappy, replace it with a loose boot (DM/BBI have good quality boots). Also, if you want to put the vest, you need to remove the figure's head first. There's no other way besides that. 4. This is optional, but do it if you want to (got the money to spend?): replace the default weaponry which came with the VH figure with something more high-quality. The quality of VH's 1/6 firearms is below that of Dragon and BBI. You can clearly tell from the jagged edges, rough seam lines and parts which appear 'mirrored'. Go for ones from Dragon, BBI, Hot Toys, Intoyz and World Weapon Collection. 5. As for how and where to put the equipment, I really can't help you on this one. When I first started out, I was pretty much clueless on which goes where but thanks to my instinct and some reference photos from books, I was able to assemble my figure's equipment. So the only advice can offer here: trust your instinct, look at military photos for reference. Remember: - Balaclava/ski mask are always worn before wearing the gas mask and finally the helmet. - Body armor goes in before tactical vest unless the armor and vest are integrated together. - Drop-down holsters are always on the right; extra side pouches tend to go on the left; bags and buttpacks tend to go to (where else?) the back. - Put all of the small equipments (carabiners, extra magazines, grenades, weaponry, etc) only after you're finished with the above! - All accessories and gears which came with the figure are to be fully utilized. That means, if the figure came with 12 gears and accessories, chances are you're gonna use all of em' at once. This applies only to boxed figures and doesn't apply to kitbashing. Next time, try starting out with a quality piece. Go for the older 2001~2003 Dragon Models series or the older/recent releases by BBI. They're quite easy, straightforward and doesn't cost you an arm and a spleen unlike those released from Hot Toys, Medicom Toys and Three-Zero (these three companies made pricey figures). Once you gained a bit of confidence, try your hands on kitbashing: buy loose figures and accessories/accessory set, buy some VH and scavenge it for parts, combine this and that with older figures that you're already bored with and make something awesome. |

QUOTE(ahhoe80 @ Oct 27 2006, 11:15 AM) rusty nail and hangmen, i finally jumped into the bandwagon by purchasing a SDU breacher (Very Hot) from Ultimate Toys in Amcorp mall yesterday. well, guess all your questions had been covered by hangmen perfectly. But since you already have a wide range of figures to start out with (Dragon SWAT) and your huge range of CY-girls, i think it's the matter of time your 1/6 instinct kick back full throttle.the box cost me 240 bucks. at first the guy there (forgot his name) recommended me to get that Special Ops which rusty nail got but i was determined to get the SDU. he offered me the pointmaker and the breacher, i finally chose this one. he offered me 230 per unit IF i were to take both the breacher and pointmaker i will give pictures on what they give in the box but hangmen, could u give me advise on which to put on and which not to cos there are just so many items. how come the bulletproof vest is not level 4 like those Hot Toys? i tried putting the vest but the head seems to be too big for the vest to slot in, so i experimented and pulled the head, then the head pop off! pls do advise... im not sure what u guys called by good quality or not as im a newbie but the vests are alright.. its just that the equipments for the lad looks very delicate. i will try post some pictures becos i still dunno which to put on where haha.. like what hangmen said, Very Hot toys are mainly for kit bashing. and as for the nude figure, you can't pose much with it. same goes for hot toys rubbery figure. QUOTE(vincentlee83 @ Oct 28 2006, 05:17 PM) Yep, because I'm a member there and I'm sure you're also a member there too. You'll get 15% discount and on 15th of February and 20th of August, you'll get 30% discount! Prices there tend to be higher than the ones in the Peninsula for obvious reasons and it's too bad there isn't that many good stuff there now besides old stocks with pricetags that seldom went down and an overstock of stuff for overrated series that sells (Gundam Seed models, Nartuo merchandise, etc). Now that I have better confidence in getting stuff online from either the Peninsula or even abroad (had ordered from Singapore so far), KK Toys felt forgettable unless I'm looking for older stuff that are hard to find. The plain OD BDU from Scar has a potential to be used as either clothes for a Nam' kitbash or Hamas/Hezbollah kitbash. Now I'm looking for a middle-easternish headsculpt, 3-hole hood, RPG-7 and a Soviet/Chicom vest that can accomodate AK mags.KK toys as well. Hey wifi, the camo seemed a lot more into concrete urban areas. I think it'll be much better if his head is left clean, but that's pretty much up to you. He would've looked nicer with more gears IMO.
Hey Rusty, the guy on the last pic seems armed with just about anything that the US Army has. I can tell that he's a grenadier of some kind (lotsa nades' hanging on his vest; manly tattoo) and chose to sacrifice some firepower and settling for something lightweight like an MP5 so that he can carry more things that went BOOM. Argh, now I'm getting some crazy bonar for an M249 SAW (never had one in my armory; nice mod BTW). |

The gernade fella is a CQB/demo/breacher crack commando. what better ways of clearing room with frags and flashbangs. the other dude with a berret is just a regular joe. toobad i've ran out of bacalava. his head looks too small for the berret. also tuned for CQB and speed entry with minimal gear especially the legs. don't want those knee pads slipping off like what happens to the rangers in Iraq. |

My latest kitbash:
![]() 75th US Army Ranger "Larry" gets redeployed with new gears and guns to give himself an edge in the battlefields of today and tomorrow. For details on this kitbash, go to my blog here. Its a new blog which is specifically for everything 1/6. Its currently still brand new so don't expect anything great yet. If you have a website or blog related to 1/6 figures you wanna share, leave me a comment at my most recent entry and I'll add you to the sidebar. For the rest of the pics, go to this thread in the OSW forums. PS: hey Rusty, mind if I borrow those pics you took for your World Weapon Collection review? I wanna make a blog entry about it when I have some time to spare since I don't have enough 1/6 guns to make a good comparison with. |

Just ditch the crappy Very Hot figure. That RM70 BBI figure would do just fine. Of course, since SDU is a Hong Kong special unit, it might seem a bit odd to use a Caucasian figure, but lets just assume that he's SAS (same equipment), for now now my sdu is wearing the army boots (brown color) frm taht 70 bucks bbi figure that i bought frm xl last week. :S any advise? QUOTE(ahhoe80 @ Nov 16 2006, 10:39 AM) im looking for those loose items cos i think it would be better for me to get loose items frm u guys rather than buy a new set. Ah sorry, but unfortunately, I don't have any interest yet in selling my stock accessories. Nonetheless, you may try getting some stuff from Action Figure 2002.im currently looking for any extra/ loose gear/clothing including any level BDU vest for SDU jeans tees sunglasses naked body shoes/sneakers tactical suit helmet tactical holster smg <G36 or MP5 shield anything u think its suitable... The best things about AF2002: 1. Lots of stuff. - Nuff' said. They carry plenty of things there. 2. They got stuff for female figs and casual wear. - For those of you who collect 1/6 females (not me, for now), AF2002 has plenty of RAWR! outfits for your femfigs. Also, AF2002 is one of the few places that sells casual wear for 1/6 figures. 3. Ease of payment. - The dude who ran the place has a Hong Leong Bank account, so depositing payment is very easy. Although, I don't really recommend buying from him because: 1. Some of his stuff are seriously overpriced. - Compare the meager price for a single box of World Weapon Collection in XL-Shop which is just RM16.80 to AF2002's insane USD15.99 (RM58.44)! Please keep in mind that not all of his stuff are that overpriced. Just look around and some of the items he sell might be a bargain compared to others. In this case, I recommend buying from only if you can't find things here in Malaysia or elsewhere and in desperate need for that particular item. 2. Very, very slow at responding to your orders. - Believe it or not, it took me close to a month and a half just to get my stuff. I should've been able to pay him much earlier if it wasn't for the ultra-slow response to my orders: it took him THREE WEEKS to reply me and there wasn't even any explanation for his delay in reply. Then I replied him back that I wish to pay via his Hong Leong Bank account and that's another TWO WEEKS of waiting before his next reply came. Due to his slow reply, I'm forced to delay my payment because it was approaching Hari Raya. At least the delivery from Hong Kong to Malaysia is fast: 7 days for my stuff to arrive, judging from the date of the parcel. This post has been edited by Hangmen: Nov 16 2006, 05:54 PM |

Chances of getting older figures depends on which shop you go around Malaysia, as such shops may still have em', though their prices can be stubborn to drop at times. Also, if you have credit/debit card or Paypal, consider yourself lucky, as there are many hobby stores based in the United States that may still carry old figures and dozens of loose items from older series with it at very low prices. I'm not into the WWII theme, but I heard a company called Dragon In Dreams (DID) are currently leading the way for WWII figures. On the other hand, companies like Dragon Models (not affiliated with DID I think) are quite good too, as they are one of the first pioneering companies that brought the revival of 1/6 figures in the hobby market. |

The best I would say is DID http://www.onlinedid.com/
Dragon is the one which produces any imaginable version of WW2 Germans... quit collecting 12 inchers for quite some while now. My last purchase was the WW2 Stalingrad Snipers Duel (Misha and Kater) and Alfred. All 3 are "OLD" figures. I found them on lelong.com.my at a very good price of RM250.. |

Duane goes tactical.
http://16ops.blogspot.com/2006/12/duane-goes-tactical.html ![]() This is my first military action figure that is not a redo (i.e more of the same with added gears) nor does its theme related or affiliated to any military groups or special forces out there. In fact, I'd say, this is my first non-themed kitbash. Since it's currently without any particular theme, this does open up a potential as a possible sci-fi teambash in the future, considering the type of weapons and gear he's equipped with. ![]() I wanted to equip Duane with a G36K + grenade launcher combo, but I didn't have enough money to buy em', for now. That explains the reason behind the grenade pouches on his back. So, for the time being, I'd settle for a G36C from World Weapon Collection. ![]() Duane's armament. A HK G36C from WWC attached with a scope taken from Very Hot SDU MP5. The pistol is a HK P7M13 with an extended barrel. Made by Intoys, it features an interactive pistol slide that slides back into position when pulled. ![]() This is where it gets fun: taking pictures of my action figure while messing around with a laser pointer/illuminator in near-total darkness. Go to this thread in the OSW forums for more pictures. |

went shopping at XL shop yesterday. they had this TS armor plating set which i've been eying on for a long time since it was introduced at onesixthwarriro. with that i've finally completed my bash, well sort of, just need at least 10 HT M4 mags to finish it and then store it in a cool dry place somewhere.
pics to come soon. |

I just sew the center piece together from the inside. meaning that you'll need to turn the balaclava inside-out then sew by hand. credits goes to Bran Rayan. i'm short of balaclava myself too, so can't help you there. but if you really want to mod it, use bbi. the fabric is nicer than old dragon balaclava. i don't have hot toys version though. Oh... ok, sorry misunderstood.
here's a short tutorial for my balaclava. You need:- 1 hole balaclava (preferbly new bbi SWAT) needle black thread First turn the balaclava inside out. carefully readjust the balaclava on an action figure head to properly stretch it and find point A and B (refer pic). sew point A and point B together with black thread using needle. if you want to make the hole smaller, sew more, normally 5 stitches is enough. remove the balaclava. Turn the balaclava right side in and the place back on figure head. see if it needs adjustments (in case one hole is bigger then the other). normally it's hard to tell unless you did a BIG mistake. To give the "evil eye" effect, stretch the mask downwards when it's on the figure head. to maintain the balaclava stretched, use some double sided tape on the neck of the figure and press the balaclava on the neck. alternatively, helmets can use to keep the balaclava stretched. ![]() |

crates is DIY, i might post it later when i have to mood.
the center weapon rack is from world weapon set. does the job real fine holding my rifles. as for the M-series and AK-series rack, it's perforated stainless steel sheet that i got off a metal workshop near my workplace. price not known, have yet to receive bill. |

I have written a review for three 1/6 items: DID XM8, DID M14 and TS ACU Plate Carrier. The review can be found here.
http://16ops.blogspot.com/2007/02/review-t...id-xm8-did.html While true that I can just copy and paste things, I keep getting strange warnings about exceeding image limit even though I didn't (the one I attempt to post is a thread-friendly version in XL-Toys forum), and everytime I tried to post the second part of the review, the thread went nuts and delete my previous post. QUOTE(Rusty Nail @ Feb 8 2007, 10:00 AM) WOW, awesome review Hangmen Thanks. If you wanna check elsewhere, try The Falcon's Hangar. I sometimes buy from them when stocks here are not available or to receive stuff early before XL. I ordered the three items mentioned in the review from TFH about a week earlier before XL-Shop has em'.too bad that XL ran out of those XM8. if not would have one in my weapon rack. I do payment via Telegraphic Transfer. You can ask TFH how to do it. For the bank of choice with the lowest TT charges, I'd say its Bumiputera Commerce (RM10) but I'm not so sure if there are any other banks lower than this. Hot Toys USMC Sniper looks great, but its kinda bland considering the popularity of US Forces in the 1/6 market. However, I'd buy some of its accessories if it were to be sold loose.
Also, that kickass Face Hugger needs a nice face to kiss. |

OMG!! where did you get that HT Green Barret? That model was like sold out a long time ago. Probably as long as 3 years ago, you can't find any shop selling it. Which collector did you kill for it?

selling them as a whole is rather difficult.
how about selling the figures per-soldier(figure). like boxed units from hot toys/dragon/bbi? fully equip them with gears, primary weapon, secondary weapon and sidearm. or... invite me to your place and see what i can grab.. |

er.. i dont wish to sell loose... cos all those nice items will be sold and theose left overs i will have to throw in as freebies...
a few memebrs have pm me their interest in teaming up to buy this lot. maybe you guys could team up and work something around. there's about 40+ guns... even if you were to sell them off at rm20.00 a piece, you would make rm800. then there's 13 bodies... mostly bbi 3.5.. 20+ bdus, vests, ... stand.... bags... 2 x satcomm.. handguns are all attached to the male figs.. that's why you dont c them on the table. most of the vest are all attached as shown in pic 2. those on the tables are you personal closet to toy with.. all hot toys and bbi. all male figs have knee pads.. boots, bdu and vest. i posted them in xltoysforum and play.com b4.. sometime last year. i think rusty nail seen my posting b4. there's also 3 original box for the male figs.. and 4 for cy girls.. these figs were part of a seal team once.. kekekek.. check my signature avatar... Added on March 2, 2007, 1:39 pm QUOTE(Rusty Nail @ Mar 2 2007, 10:53 AM) those cy chick are the ahem .. ahem support for the guys... u know lah.. all work and no play make a man a dull boy.. kekekekeke...This post has been edited by Wifi_One: Mar 2 2007, 01:39 PM |

Before I post my TS ACU Special Forces figure, here's what I did with the rather disappointing DID XM8: give it a brand new paintjob.
Procedure: ![]() 1. The DID XM8: one of the greatest disappointment in my armory is about to be given a winning makeover. The rifle was first disassembled. ![]() ![]() 2. Seamlines on the rifle was sanded down using modeling sand paper. White putty is applied to 'ugly spots' on what was used to be jagged edges that was removed using a plastic cutter. ![]() ![]() 3. For painting the rifle, here's a list of acrylic paints used for the paintjob: Gunze Sangyo Hobby Color H2 Black - for the XM8's built-in scope. H78 Olive Drab 2 - Rifle body. H83 Dark Grey 2 - Magazine. H346 Rough Sand - Weathering. Tamiya Color XF-69 NATO Black - Rifle body. I know the color choice of OD over Tan might seem odd, considering that Tan is a far more recognizable 'trademark' color of the XM8. It's just my personal opinion that coloring the XM8 with Tan makes it look like a watergun made for grownups, and green is my favourite color. And the finished product... (gimme a few minutes, will upload to next post) |

![]() Not bad for a first-timer in weapon repaint. In fact, I was expecting it to suck pretty bad, but I gotta give kudos to myself for my previous experiences with painting Gundam model kits. ![]() I colored the magazine with Dark Grey 2 since there's really nothing to see in the transparent magazine anyway. ![]() Gave it some weathering so it looks a tad used, but not abused so badly; trying to make it look like it has been put to a good use but hasn't had a wide participation in many operations yet. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The XM8 with the 20" barrel installed for the 'Sharpshooter' variant. |

^i skip the WWC bazooka set.
from the looks of it, it's not weathered, unlike it's previous small arms WWC. the only thing that interest me is the M72A2 or also known as LAW. small, compact and deadly against infantry and armor. and also the best anti sniper any marine can ask for. so... no point buying the whole set just for one LAW. i'd rather buy loose. Hangmen, yeah, i just got myself 10 of those HT P90s. there goes RM300 |

Well, your diorama is a good start, but lacking in equipment. You need to pony up enough dough to give your men some fine gears. Oh, and get better lighting and try read up on your camera's manual about taking close-up shots.

Thanks for the advice I'd wanted the clean men with less equipment, because it is easier to pose them at the start. I'm learning how to best pose the figures so they can look real and fearsome I'll work on the figures with another camera soon enough, cuz these picts were taken from my SE W810i phone |

robinson,
i've to let go of the LAW. i took a look at it at Hansen and i wasn't impressed, at all. it pales in comparison with the Hot Toys and even the Very Hot version that i have. sorry. Death-Scythe, hmm.. didn't get that since this whole month i was concentrating in getting loose items. as far as i know its already sold out at Hansen. what about other locations like Action City? |

^my gwad. suddenly HT producers are high on crack or desperate to make 2007 the year they produce the most figures.
it looks like crap! looks like a rush job. i'd rather them use that hard to get sniper rifle in their second weapon collection set, than have it pair with tom cruise with denali chest rig that make him stick out like a sore thumb. besides, who in the right mind would use that denali rig? that figure looks like it can base jump any moment. at least Halo figures are balanced with a parachute at the back. equal weight distribution. this sniper on the other hand, will have to walk leaning back or risk tripping over. |

^ Barbie has its own group to categorize itself. Therefore, I personally think it doesn't belong as a '12-inch action figure'. Open up a separate thread about it.

expensive man, MP5 PDW for RM45, unlesss you are buying the HT UDT MP5 which looks like PDW but barrel length same as conventional MP5.
the M4s are overpriced, so are the nudes. at market price are the PCU, BDU and gas mask. though there are some cheap stuff too like sun glasses RM5!!! |

RM45 for the HT SDU v2 MP5 wor.. i am willing to pay even higher than that man.. haha...
ok lor the store... its like give and take la.. some items cheap some items exp so we cant grumble much. at least its freaking cheaper than buyer frm Ebay HK. i saw USMC sniper US 30 bucks man just for the rifle. the MP5 set that they selling has complete set just like the SDU one. both barrel also got together with fixed butt or retractable butt |

i think they showed their postage rates in their FAQ section. BUt i think they count the shipping rates in like num of items la. like that easier la cos unlike u buy in ebay, 1st item already US5. then the 2nd item additional onwards is US1.50 wah..

i think some of the items they do take out like the Metal UMP and SDU boots. cos that time i nearly wanted to buy but eventually i din. now someone bought already and its delisted.
i think if the items are not available and its still there it should be a restocked item where they will keep on comming in. thats just my guess la wat u wan to sapu la.. |

I think if it's there, that means they still have it in stock...mostly i would say they have half a dozen boxes each and strip them down to individual parts....and until everything's sold, they will put it there..~
Coz i was deciding on whether to get the VBSS PCU from Hot Toys...but was gone 2 days later..~ Sigh.... |

Anyone went to CS at JB lately? There's this new opened shop, and i saw some 12 inch hot toys there, but the price is damn cheap, i mean around RM200-RM250. Just curious, is this the genuine stuff?

Feel to drop by, I still got plenty of stuff left. You can ask your friend who bought few uniforms and vests from me.

OMG @ Lone Wolf's collection.
one thing though, why is the camo on the AVP marine heavy gunner of a lighter tone compared to the other two marine riflemen? I raided stormy's place with a few friends yesterday. was at cloud 9 looking at all his rare rifle collection and was having a really tough time picking loose stuff since i didn't bring much cash. I'm definitely going back there again. |

QUOTE(Hangmen @ May 2 2007, 07:46 PM) his rifles are not for sale, but they are pretty rare. like the SIG 550 sniper rifle, Medicom Styer AUG, some weapon-in-a-suit-case (not sure what it is). and many more, i'm not sure if i should list out the rest. maybe i'll let Stormy take picture of his collection and then pimp it here. picture speak louder than words. |

In my view, pics like those you mentioned are far superior than typical Japanese porn. |

My first ever Medicom and my first ever 12" fig [excluding McF/Neca].
It looks awesome at first sight, but when I took it out, I notice the gritty details. Sloppy glue job, there was some residue on the chest for mine and loose joints plagued my newborn. A few parts even fell off when I moved them, eg. the backpack hinges just gave way when I tried to put it back on, the antenna rolled off, the groin protector came off etc etc. What a bad experience with my first Medicom figure. argh. After some time spent super gluing parts back into place, the balance to the universe was restored. Since then, I know better not to touch it and it now sits on my shelf looking pretty, lol. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
