yeah like what every other forumer previously said, the mother dog din't feel comfortable with giving birth, or felt the insecurity of the surrounding. When my dog gave birth to her nine dogs, i was there to make sure that the mother doesn't eat the pup by isolating the pup right after she consumed her own....."pipe/hose" (my bio sure gagal ><). usually the eating own puppy happens to the first pup only, but i guess only animal instinct can explain it. next time sure the mother dog give birth in a cool area, but warm floor.

yeah, well if u do spend enough quality time with the mother, and the mother recognises u as her companion, she'll probably trusts u with her pups, though bear in mind its maternal instinct is at its strongest at least until the end of the first month of birth.
