I am going to install a new water heater for 2 bedrooms. It is typical terrace house design, where 2 bedroom sharing a toilet (inside the bedrooms).

And, I am going to rent out the rooms. So 2 tenants will share the water heater.

I need advice: shall i put the switch inside the shared bathroom? Will it dangerous? If yes, where shall I locate the switch?

this depend on your bathroom is that hv any place that safe to put the switch, if not, there is another option is putting 2 way switch, mean something just like staircase light switch, on at 1 side, can off at another side, so both room hv their own switch

If allow, place inside the bath room, make sure if far from water splashing, and locate it high, maybe 5ft.

If can't locate one each room like EC mention.

Thanks all! I will go shop to ask about the 2 way switch... and how much cost for water heater with 2 way switch, not sure the wiring needs to make this happen...

I still feel dangerous to have the switch inside the bathroom, as the space of the bathroom is not big... when taking bath time, i think the water might splash the switch...

I don't think there is a 2 way switch for heater. The 2 way switch is only for lighting. The heater switch is 20amp.

But do try check first.

My parent house the switch in the toilet, I buy the rubber front to put it in, apply silicone sealer on the side before put in. Till now about ten years still good.
