Having an OBU might help you if you plan to go for your Masters later on in life, or if you don't plan to pay your ACCA membership anymore.

It's more of a back up plan if you don't plan to enter the accountancy field at all.

Can you be a little bit more specific on the term "working field"?

I believe working overseas as a fresh grad depends more on your connection that your qualification, unless you are top of your class or you come from an elite school.

I don't think so unless you're in a completely non-accounting field eg sales & marketing, insurance broker, teacher etc.

As I said, it all depends on the nature of the positions advertised. For all the non-accounting positions eg sales & marketing, administrator, banking etc, off course the employers need the candidates to have a degree relevant to the positions advertised.

Prof qualifications like ACCA or CIMA are purely meant for those who want to pursue a career in accounting. If someone wants to pursue a career in for example, stock broking or real estate, then what's the point of studying ACCA....it will be a complete waste.

Having said that, because of the 'kiasuness' of the employers in Spore, they will always prefer grad from their local uni in all professions eg engineering, accounting, law etc.

Some business school do recognise ACCA, such as Imperial College for their MBA. If you're looking for an MBA, not Msc, Mphil or Phd, working experience will be sufficient.

Have to try my best to pass all these exams, the exam fees are so expensive.

Just try to focus heavily on one or 2 papers and forget bout the other 1~~
again..plan your time..set a target~~~
for example...everyday practice a 2 (main) Questions~~
try ur best to write and answer, look for answer in textbook if you have to..then lastly refer to the model answers...
identify your weakness and make sure you dun make similar mistakes in similar situations~~
F level papers are not that tough~~so i think u can still manage to do it for 2 papers..
provided that u actually learn something during the classes~

My advice is...if u plan to continue attitude like this~~
dun waste ur time in ACCA~~u will have a very hard time trying to past ur papers~and ultimately completing it~~

Same here doing F4 F5 F6. It's left 1 month so i guess practicing past year question like other 'sifu' advice would be better gua.

sunway..classes quite stress but there's ample study space for individual or group study sessions, huge library as well..Also have ACCA sports day and Sunway Uni sports day..

Finally someone who feels exactly like I do. Especially when she get to cash flow statements..you will get bombarded with T accounts and she'll be like "this figure here, that figure here, this figure there etc etc etc"..Hahaha

practice ques until u can do ques without look at the answer in the time available.

So start study earlier la....  

Are you going for f7 and f9 classes?

If you really really want to go through your plan..I'd suggest take F5 classes(especially if you're weak in F5) and not F4. F4 is a paper which you can self study because it's basically memory and regurgitation work.

If you're the type who last minute study better take less papers and not jeopardize everything at once..Even when I take 2 papers also pretty heavy due to last minute revisions..

I have concerns for your plan dude.. you must really be able to measure yourself first..

i know you must be thinking that you'd do better for 4 papers, but even to the best of ACCA students, 4 papers is really

I know people like you, always taking 4 papers after failing, end up failing all 4. not one, but quite a number of them..

in fact, my advise to people who have been constantly failing is, rather than take 4, take just ONE at a time, max is two, also if taking 2 then they should find large gaps between exam dates

but seriously, if u have a killer intensive revision plan, and on top of that, to study yourself,

then by all means do it. we are young. young is the time to try out new things

If you're going to self study for F5, don't leave out any minor topic.
Almost got killed by the new examiner last sem but luckily survived.
