Hi all,

Just a quick question, this is a bit of a confusion for me...
The "account balance" shown above the fees section in myACCA is actually the balance that to be paid or available fund for us to use in future?

cheers,

Nef

Hi got a question here... Is it normal for a person to complete ACCA at age of 25 without working and starts as fresh grad?

Im now age of 22 with 5 papers left... Worst case scenario i assume to complete it in 3 years time max as full time study.

Or should I start working now and take 1 paper at a time to gain more experience?

Experienced and fellow seniors pls give me some advise blush.gif

(Just an additional question - What should my starting salary should look like if im a fresh grad with no experience?)

hi there nod.gif good to know that you're on the right track with just a few  papers left.
the most common practice people do is, join an audit firm, preferably big4 nod.gif but if you're going to further studies, it has always been Masters.

If I could suggest, you should take MBA, just to diversify your background. Although , even if you plan to join audit, everybody, regardless masters, degree, ACCA/CIMA, or a combination of any of those,

will start with the same salary sweat.gif probably if you are ambitious, maybe you should straight away get into the industry?
hi. Congratz for being left with just 5 more papers notworthy.gif however, i must ask, you want to complete another 5 papers in THREE years time? does this mean you will be taking ONE paper each seating?

If possible, always take the option to complete them all first. Firstly because of your starting salary. You will most probably be forced to do the same amount of labor which even ACCA affiliates do but still be paid peanuts just because you haven't completed yet.

besides, you have just completed your F papers only, i dont think theres much to offer to employers, unless if you're an ACCA finalist or at least have already sat for a few P papers. You also will have to consider the study leave, if ever, your employer decides to give you.. some give just 3 days rclxub.gif some DON'T.

don't worry at what age you complete ACCA, just be worried if you will complete it at all. 25 is quite okay though, well.. if u wanna talk about age, theres a lot of people still doing ACCA in their 40s.

I'd rather suggest for you to cleverly arrange your papers and take 2 each but if you have all the time u can have, then by all means take your time. Chances of passing are higher if u have single papers seriously nod.gif

Fresh grad with no experience, depends on who is your employer. Big4 on average pay you 2800++, other Small medium firms pay around 2500++?

Oo sorry did not mention that I did not take any F papers. I graduated from uni - degree in accounting and I've got full exemptions for all the F papers.

What I'm trying to say is that I'm afraid I will be taking too long to complete my acca if I study full time. I'm afraid that by the time i finish ACCA i'm already 25 years old ++ only start looking for a job and the salary will be somehow like 2.5k?(cause no working experience) I assume that the worst case scenario which is the worst I can go is complete the 5 papers in 3 years+...? hopefully within 1.5 years.

So

oh sorry for launching into the wrong details sweat.gif

even so, I'd still suggest you to finish your ACCA first, but definitely not in a 3 year time-span.

best is, a 3-2(1 year) or 2-2-1(1.5 years)

You already have a degree, im pretty sure 2-2-1 is not a problem at all for you nod.gif

I am also 22, but without degree, just so you know smile.gif
