What is considered as best? For me, if it does not kacau me with a lot of pop up and does not slow down my PC and protect me from virus then is good. I tried Trendmicro before, I don't like because it eats up my PC resources. Then, I switch to Avira Antivirus and so far so good.

i saw Bit Defender rated as no.1.
kaspersky got second. Only because it's more expensive that bit defender.
in terms of functionality, kaspersky wins.

u can buy licensed AntiVirus
but it will be useless if u dont know how to use it wisely, which is u need extra tools to since AV does not block all type of the computer threat.
that happen a lot to my friends which only got in their mind the paid version is always better than free version. and in the end they comes to me to clear all the virus in their Laptop. and i am only using the free version + extra tool (eg, combofix) to clear their problematic laptop

u can dowload a FREE AV (plus with Internet security pack)
but it will be useless if u dont know how to use it wisely too

BUT if u a good it user, can use the AV or Internet Security effectively even use the free version

i never buy licensed AV because i use the free version of Comodo Internet Security Premium which is packed with AV, Defender, Firewall and etc..

BUT if u really really like to buy the paid version.
I suggest you take AVIRA Internet Security 2012.

BUT remember, if u dont manage the software wisely..it will become useless too.

Like my wife using No 1 Bit Defender, but it useless since she rarely update the virus definition. Luckily she buy tht software before we married. If after we married i will surely suggest her to use the free version only while assist her on how to take care her laptop properly.

Your Sincerely, Virus Breeder.
