I think that is custom rom,
Like you I just a newbie,recently just root and put CWM and then flash to custom rom slimbean 4.2.2
So far more smooth compare with stock rom.
But just notice, there is no option for video call using 3g network.

For me 4.0.4 CM9 RC9 by arco really stable for daily use,much smooth compare with stock rom + with theme touch wiz 5.

which firmware that you flashed?last time I using cm10.1 create by arco, quiet stable as far as I know no problem.
Try use cm9 the last release from arco,great battery life and performance too.

maybe the release that you flash still got bug that maybe causing the problem.you can try find the latest release, try flash it and see if still happen.if not,back to stock rom is the best option.

Last time what I did, I just install the CWM via Odin if not mistake. Then,after the installed the CWM, I flashed the custom rom and by following the step provided.
By the way before install the CWM,my version is 2.3.6.

Try explore in that xpda site,they got the latest version CWM,if not mistake 6.3.3v.
For the rom,please follow the exact step.

Lasy time i use app backup and restore software to backup my app.for thing in the gallery,i think it is not affected unless you format the sd card.

I suggest test the powerbank with other phone first to make sure thr powerbank is okay.
