hi - Is about the metal used in concrete beams and columns for a bungalow (2 story). My architect's engineer just specified that the reBar ties should be 8mm (r8), but my contractor said nobody uses r8 - all use r6 - because r8 is too difficult to bend around the main rods. he claims its safer to use more r6 - less chance of a reBar protruding from the concrete. Anybody got experience on this one? many thanks,
