Hi all,
We all know that Olympus has just announced its latest Olympus OMD-EM5. I'm thinking of getting one M3/4 cam.
Which one to choose? Olympus EP3 RM2800 or Olympus EM5 RM4500...Rm1700 different...gosh..!!!
Advice please...=(

TS, what camera r u using now? If ur a DSLR user shifting to micro 4/3 waters, r u those that expect its image quality to b similar to DSLR? If u r, best u head straight for em-5. While the ep3 is a darn good micro4/3 cam, it uses the older ep1 sensor thus ISO tolerance isn't that good. U will notice a vast difference if u were a DSLR user.
Just me 2 cents. But I've moved fr Nikon d90 to ep3 but sold off the ep3 to move back to DSLR.

Hi bro, So you mean the EP3 image quality cannot not compete with DSLR's? But only EM5 image quality is top notch standard with DSLR's?

Even OMD EM-5 isn't really DSLR level. But micro 4/3 isn't about beating the DSLR market. It's smaller, lighter and way more convenient. If ure a person willing to accept some draw backs in IQ and ISO tolerance compared to a DSLR to gain this set of convenience, then micro 4/3 is alluring. If ure entering the field with the thinking that each shot u make will b compared to a DSLR, then don't. Both are a class of their own.

It's a Sigma 30mm f1.4 shot at around f1.8 to f2 if recalled correctly rx330 is right... image quality is over rated anyway. If you wanna get that "glow" ... just get the Panny Leica 25mm f1.4, slap on a ND filter ... add a bit +EV and shoot away.

Sharp clear etc? And does it mean that picture quality is mainly influenced by the type of lense? Thanks!

If you can believe Dpreview Studio Test Samples published today then the OM-D is equal or better than SLR like D7000, 7D, K-5 and even Leica M9. I think that's what they are saying.
