Package includes: thumbup.gif New T-muso USB DAC (ELNA Caps 330µF) thumbup.gif

This usb dac sound card is built around the integrated circuit reference PCM2704, a young prodigy electronic synthesizes the expertise of TEXAS INSTRUMENTS and its subsidiary illustrates BURR-BROWN.
Miracle of integration, the PCM2704 is itself the roles of controller USB 1.1 high speed (12mb / s), Audio Converter and Digital / Analog, all in a surprisingly small space.

From its architecture and its simplicity, it requires no software or drivers to interface with a computer station: just plug into a USB port, and it will be automatically detected and installed by the vast majority of systems Operating current (Windows XP/Vista/7 - MAC OS 9 / X - Linux).

Processing capabilities of the PCM2704 allows him to process signals at a set sampling frequency between 32 and 48kHz 16-bit maximum.
The binary signals injected within it will also be systematically re-clocked on a reference clock signal of 12MHz generated locally before passing through a digital filter with oversampling multiple (x8).
This construction, exclusive to TI and baptized SPACT, to the advantage of minimizing the negative influence of the USB link and its asynchronous nature of the numbers of jitter.

On this model the jack socket has two types of outputs:

Output Analog stereo line-level connector on the 3.5mm
A SPDIF Optical Toslink Mini format

Features:
Enter USB 1.1 "Full Speed" (12mb / s)
TEXAS INSTRUMENTS SPACT technology (Internal Clock / Phase Lock Loop)
Analog Stereo outputs on 3.5mm connector
SPDIF output on connector 3.5mm (Mini-Toslink)
Supply by USB
Power Indicator Light

Specifications:

USB Connection Type: Adaptive
Sampling frequencies: 32, 44.1, 48KHz
Quantization: 16 Bit
Dynamic Range: 98 dB
S / N Ratio: 98dB THD + N (0.006%)
Natively Compatible with Operating Systems: Windows XP/Vista/7 - MAC OS 9 / X - Linux
Dimensions: 65 x 30 x 10mm (LxWxH)
Delivered without USB cable Nude

What can i do with this?

For example, you would need a digital capable receiver to convert certain sound signals right? example S/PDIF. So with this, I don't have to get a digital capable speaker set ?

No sir...this DAC mainly use for person who value the sound more than ordinary....its 10 times higher quality output compare with your integrated sound card inside your laptop or desktop....
The usage is simple...just connect the USB to this DAC by usb cable from pc or laptop...and Connect the other side of DAC to Headphone Cable or Speaker Cable...easy As ABC....

I see. Thank you for your detailed explanation and of course, the image.

I was hoping to get something that would convert my analog headphones to digital to connect to my sound card on my computer.

hi TS, received ur item fast & furious:)also unexpectedly SMALL!!:P

anyway after tried this DAC, its more worth than you buying those sound card for speaker/headphone around the market value of 300-500. Just b4 buying this DAC, realize that it uses the reference circuit of PCM2704. wonderful and cheap enough for a small device like this which u might save alot more than buying others DAC that in the same range.

from the first i couldn't believe that this kind of small device can be played so well after plugged in to my laptop. listening experience was gain to another level. the stability of the vocal was superb, sound stage was improved and also the punch/bass. reference headphone was alessandro ms2i and also grado rs1i.

Verdict:
If you're looking for a budget DAC and wanted to listen to MORE stage level, just go for it!! Rather than just plug in your RM1k++ headphone to a crappy silly built in AUX socket from pc...to a small device like this, it could be more than enough for you to listen a 320kbps mp3 songs that downloaded from the net. of course you may have to know that u're paying for only hundred ringgit for such a good portable product. overall 9/10 given include the consideration of price & quality in this range.

and also those who have an amp/portable amp that doesn't have DAC, u can try this with the setup from PC-->DAC-->AMP-->headphone/speaker. u'll surprise with the sound stage & listening experience!

TQ

It has been a week that I received this small USB DAC and overall... It worked nicely with my casual listening.

If compared to laptop sound card, it was not comparable at all.. It was just awesome...

Besides, I had compared it with my old hifi gears

-CD Player - clocked 2 NAD 502
-Octave's DAE-1
-a trusted NAD 302
-AKG K701 headphones
-Apertura Agora loudspeakers

I played several FLAC musics on it (mostly jazz and world music) thru Foobar.

Off course, NAD502 + DAE-1 get my vote. And they cost more...

But if NAD502 fed NAD302 directly, it could be on par if I fed this tiny USB DAC to DAE-1 then to NAD302, driving K701/Aperura. However, i found that NAD502 (well, clocked version) has a tad more transparency and better soundstage compared to USB DAC, even with DAE-1. USB DAC was a bit dry by comparison. But hey... i bought this USB DAC because i want to have my casual listening in more enjoying and satisfied manner, rather than hearing all kind off noises out from laptop sound card.. and it's not expensive at all...

I'm very satisfied with this USB DAC T-Muso PCM2704..

What system I have now...? ......Foobar > USB DAC > DAE-1 >NAD302 > K701.... fuuhhh syiioookk... thumbup.gif

What system I have now...?    ......Foobar > USB DAC > DAE-1 >NAD302 > K701....  fuuhhh syiioookk...    thumbup.gif

Glad u like it bro...enjoy thumbup.gif

Got three questions bro:

1)Does this DAC sound bright or warm? I'm hoping it's bright, I like it that way

2)Does this have line out or I can just plug in my own AMP through what seems like the headphone out?

3)Is it possible to COD somewhere in Subang Jaya?

I NEED A DAC CAUSE MY CURRENT ONES ARE BEING SENT FOR REPAIR! This can be a great back up! I've read the comments on this thread and your DAC seems noteworthy! Cheers

I had received the DAC in good condition, tested with my Senheiser HD598, definitely sound better, especially after I adjust to add in a little bass, and I can hear louder, as compare to low volumne on my PC onboard sound card. In conclude, worth the price for this DAC, i feel no over bright problem, no distortion problem, all just fine.

One more question, i see there are 2 red LEF lights on the DAC, how comes only 1 is ON? How about the other? And then what is the SPDIF about? I see no SPDIF when I plug in the USB DAC into computer, I just use like that, any difference with the SPDIF?

Now I see. So it automatically replaces the sound card, everything that is played (music) is automatically channeled to this DAC through the USB. Correct me!!! I would like to understand.. smile.gif

PM best price for COD in PJ bro? =>

Also wanna ask, is it possible for me to disconnect n throw away the 2 LEDs? Will the DAC still function correctly w/o them? Audiophile should know why leds should not run on the same board tongue.gif

The first LED at input..should be no problem...but the 2nd led from output...if you take it out...would be no more SPDIF function.....

Okay, which means if i'm using for music playback from pc/mac/linux thru usb; There will be no problem if both leds are out, provided if i'm using standard 3.5mm jack for output? If i want SPDIF, all i need to do is solder thru the 'output led' pins kan?

Just got the DAC today, came in a well protected package =>
Have been lstening for a few hours and still cant stop drool.gif
For the price this is better than most soundcards <RM300! Punchy and forward without sounding cold/sharp.
Brings out instruments and details. Really good with all music except rock, for my taste sometimes the electric guitars come out a little too much in badly/averagely mastered rock music. Nevertheless, still really big improvement & this proves it can bring out the original sound quality as per studio mix, bad quality recording will sound really bad, good quality recording brings eargasms =>

Removed the Power & SPDIF LEDs to save power as im using this with laptop and android tablet, heard that led can introduce noise into the circuit too, imo the sound improved slightly to my liking after removal.

Thanks bro Suhail for this great product & service!

Hi, largely depends on your device. Android is not lik iOS where it serves specific hardware range only so suipport can be easily implemented. From what I know, some Android devices have USB Audio support out from factory, most dont tho.

In my case i'm using a Nexus7, have to unlock, root, install custom kernel that support USB Audio, ROM (user interface) can remain stock for my case. Best place to research for android: http://forum.xda-developers.com/

Those wondering if this DAC makes a difference for speakers, it does! Alot diff on my Edifier & friend's Altec Lansing. No difference on crappy sonic gear & lousy car Aux input. There is a difference only if the system recieving and output the audio is good or great enough => notworthy.gif
