So, which maps do you think should be retired from Season 7 map pools?

korhal compound. awful map. the map that both army consistently missing each other which resulting in base trade.this map have no different with a simple plain map except some high ground. too many counter attack path

i kinda like korhal...
it rewards good positioning and of course i love the counter attack options as a zerg or flanking with any race...
it is like a better version of dual sight for me lolx

1) I hate counter attack (base trade to be exact). Rather than flip a coin and wish for the best in base trade, i prefer the defender to find a very good position to hold off attack. BUT
2) There are no good position in Korhal. even the 3rd need to be fortified.
3) Dual sight sux. Fail GSL map


I cannot understand the reason to like this map but maybe u can if you are the few ppl on earth that say Polt vs MMA in GSL super tournament is a great final tongue.gif

1. counter attacks are a good part of the strategy, if u have enuff map vision with scouting u can always intercept and react accordingly especially in army splits... i dunno bout u, but i always managed to flank very well in this map as any race i play (random) by dancing my army around... unless u are the type who mass up the deathball and jz amove along a path... map splits are a pain to play in most late games as a zerg... it is a much better map than shattered, shakuras and a few other maps...
2. there are so many good position, the near watch tower is a great place to station ur army while u maintain ur map vision in some paths... areas can be secured accordingly and ur mining base is quite safe from mutas/ drops if u commit a bit of resource to static defense... fortifying the 3rd is quite normal for all matchups unless u wanna get a 3rd base uncontested which is highly imbalanced if u are protoss/ terran... you might as well don't play tal darim altar since that map is even more open...
3. it is overall a decent map which rewards mobility with pressure rather than turtling... the main problem wit dual sight was th exposed natural which is fixed in this version... the 3rd is punishable forcing u to spread out if u are greedy enuff to grab a quick one... if u time right, it is pretty secure in any matchup...

then again, i play random so i am get to experience it with every race and find it ok...

haha.. even worse when your team is medivac, battlecruiser, baneling and colo.. while your opponents are... viking, viking, battlecruiser and corruptor.. XD

shattered is clearly the worst. because terran can just turtle at their own watch tower with sensor tower and it covers all ground.

metalopolis gold and shakuras map split is not good for ZvT for other matchup still ok...

i find that shakuras favored protoss in both PvZ and PvT...
metalo and shattered spawn is jz bad and encourages cheese...
their close air spawn is pretty all-in-ish as well...

i play all these 4 maps. Shakuras is my favourite map, shattered is my Mech map, korhal + meta is my all-in map. of course, not in TvT

unable to fathom why shattered temple and metalopolis got so much votes. This doesn't even make sense. Taldarim Altar is the worst because of PvP.
