I need some advise here. Appreciates and thanks in advance. My question is about proper setup for toman at place like air ganda.

I made my mind not to get BC 1st. My friend poisoning me soooooo bad even not allow me to borrow his as i asked for testing session. He said its bored and i'm going to waste my money as its not going to suit all/every fishing spot and restriction etc etc as what spinning can offer. I also have lesser time to practice as i only have less than 2 more weeks to go.

I heard good comments about fream J (but too bulky.. don't you think?). Previously tot to get Abu 800 series but after Kepong trip saw it from China then cancell.. I want something proven good and can last long.

I need to know whole setup (in Ib and brand) for
Spinning reel
Rod
Line
Leader
Anything else i miss?

well for a noob like me, I'd prepare these to go Air Ganda...

Spinning Reel: No comment, cause practically have no experience with these, but I'd say get a model which can hold about 200m of lines with a good drag..
Rod: a MH Fast 10-25lbs
Line: Braided 30lbs (maybe 40lbs)
Leader: Fluorocarbon based, 40lbs and above with at least 3 feet of slack... (learn up FG knot and albright knot)

if you're using lures, I'd advise you to use better quality hooks and split rings, as there's reports mentioning that the treble hooks get straightened during the fight..

this is my 2 cents.. smile.gif

Thanks Bro.. i don't mind taking advise from pier noob.. laugh.gif but like i said before that you reading a lot then you aware lots of thing compare to me maa... smile.gif

Currently i have 6' Rapala Medium Heavy 10-25Ib but i'm thinking of AG Conolon PE1-3.. 6'6" of 7' if any and 2 pcs (easy to carry maa...)

30Ib line enough meh? I'm thinking of 50Ib.. not because of fighting fish but snagging! Then flourocarbon also 50Ib using FG knot (read 'bout it but never did yet). Recommended brand?

My previous trip my hook almost straightened with only 2kg toman.. half way edi..

I'm using keli not my lures as i'm proud of my snagging skills which confirmed by my boat man.. Kekkeekeeee...

Added on April 6, 2007, 4:48 pmSomehow i feel frustrated looking at Abu 800 series MADE IN CHINA. Any recommendation for other Abu MADE IN SWEDEN Bro?

Or Shimano? Or Daiwa? Or others?

Of course we talking about budget.. say around RM 500.00?

What you all actually looking into branding? I mean.. issit b'coz of Shimano got nice drag sound as example.. For Abu b'coz of this.. Daiwa b'coz of this.. i really want to know la..

Bro Rory, jangan mare.. just kidding.. i know you all very nice fellow and its always a pleasure for me to be with you. biggrin.gif

So, our plan how? Always have restriction la.. That nite i'm at pay pond till morning.. MuaHaHaHa.. only one catch 800 gram..

Judging on paper i think CH100A tapau Armis 600. I also reading that they comparing it even with Daiwa Team-X! which of course they said DT-X win la..
