did a format system before. didn't lost my cwm but make sure you have rom ready to flash. if not your phone will have nothing to boot to.

Hi all has anyone of you encountered this problem before? I've purchased my S2 two weeks ago, the camera worked fine at first, but recently it's starting to give me persistent 'camera failed' message, reboot would solve the issue, but after a few shots it would freeze and when I force ended the camera it would give the same message again, does anyone of you know how to solve this? any help would be greatly appreciated...

format system does not wipe internal or external. only the os part.
if want to format whole phone i think you can use the code number but cant remember the number but with that number you need to take out the sd card cos i think it will format it as well.

mine working back also.
the one i use last time is red color icon one, i think its for smaller screen. but works fine on S2, the interface is super minimalistic.

i went to samsung app store find again, got a newer diodict, but blue color icon one.
the interface abit over flashy, looks like a real book, dont like how it looks, but hey it works. so i'm happy on ics now

Hmmm the bugs people reported on wanamlite thread make me rethink installing his current version. Maybe just to try out will flash his deodexed fully stock rom instead.

Yeah first official SGS2 ICS kinda giving bad experience to people as there seems to be little diff with leak version (which have small bugs here and there).

Try this

1. Unplug the USB cable

2. On the cell phone, dial the following number: *#7284# Once the last # is hit, the PhoneUtil application is launched. Choose USB -> Modem and then USB -> PDA mode. The good mode should be PDA. Even if the mode is PDA, switch to Modem and then back to PDA.

3. Plug the USB cable.

Note:

* Repair USB connection for any Samsung Android phone

a noob here trying to understand what you all are saying...after reading all the pages, many question marks pop up in my head and hope some kind soul can help me in understanding more...

1)I saw many of u recommend to do a full wipe before flashing to ICS.....full wipe means restore the phone to the condition as u buy before right?so does that means all the thing below will be wipe out?

and how do u all do a full wipe?isit by setting->privacy->factory data reset?

2)To flash to ICS, basically I'll need to download the official ICS firmware from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1544487, right?

Got it, but some say do not have to do full wipe wo... And they say without the wipe also can work like charm, no problems etc. I admit I'm lazy to backup and restore all my data again as it's very slow.
