Thinking about getting a Jazz.
My main concern is about the maintenance schedule.
I only average 6000KM a year.
Do I need to go service center every 3 months as stated on Honda's website to keep my warranty?

But yea, 5000KM interval is kinda bull.

can someone comment on how the car electric power steering feels like at 110km/h and the road/wind noise at that speed?

visva, you're a champion. Not only did you take the time to answer some questions, but you actually remembered to wish everyone here well during this coming holidays. Cheers to you!

The missus has decided to get this Jazz Hybrid, but due to the fact that it's so late into the month already, she may not be able to enjoy the discounts as the car needs to be registered by the end of the month. That being the case, she has decided to wait till January 2013 and see if the offers are still around. If they are, she'll be a member among all you nice people here. In fact, we're hopeful the offer might even be better as they're still stuck with more than a thousand units I understand!

Happy holidays everyone and do be careful!

yea, i was thinking the same thing.
i felt the jazz is a little overprice, cause fiesta 1.4 is only 60k after rebate.
sure it's got a lot more equipment, but i'm buying a car not the accessories.

i just test drove a jazz hybrid.
it's my first time handling an eps.
coming from hydraulic power steering and even no power steering.
welp it sucks, if you want to feel the road but it is easy to maneuver tight corners and slow speed city driving.
i didn't get to test it 100km/h, too much traffic.
the seating position felt high and you get the feeling of driving a minivan.
well, it is a minivan. a reduced toyota estima.
a lot of torque so it accelerates really good, for in town speeds.
the cbu comes with michelin tyres and the ckd with some goodyear. that itself makes the cbu a better buy.

it's not a driver's car, which is fine because it;s for my sister.

How come the consumption is higher for highway than in city? I average 0.10-0.11per km.

so you think auto lock worth more than solid disc brakes compared to the drum brakes on ckd?
and side curtain airbags, cruise control, michelin tyres, etc.
i don't think you have your priorities right.
as for the brake pads, you can always replace with some other brand.

need help!

kinda decide to take jazz hybrid for fuel save (obviously)
im 90% convinced this gonna be my new car.
the salesman told me that 40L/800km (woot! are you for real?)
i travel around 80 km X 5 times a week from Puncak Alam to Kelana Jaya for work.
this hybrid tech really help me save fuel against frustating LDP-PLUS traffic jam.
some reading about ECON option told that Jazz Hybrid not suitable for traffic jam, and makes me wonder..
*
mitsubishi mirage can get the same fuel milage for cheaper.
only get the jazz if you want the slightly larger boot space and cabin.
and a lot of torque.

Alright. I didn't know they have got checklist  thumbup.gif

Since this is a CBU/imported unit, any precautions.? e.g. Engine number? And do i need to obtain the AP from the dealer?

Sorry as this is my very first time to own a Non-national car smile.gif

just tell them to wash the car and not to wax it.
their waxing kinda sub par.
give them a call early.

drove to the airport today.
4.7l/100km.
the total mileage is now 270KM.
vibration from auto stop is nonsense, i get a slight jolt for the first few times, now it humms.
the only problem with auto stop is when i'm going into parking and it dies.
another when i want super fast response in a T junction. i guess you should put it in S for this.

the jerking is also not a problem, it's just the electric motor kicking in.
acceleration is good. getting to 80km/h is effortless. after that to 120 needs more gas if you want faster.
cruising at 110 is effortless with ~2000rpm.
it's so calm and composed it doesn't feels like you're going 110.

the suspension is stiff, even my wira is softer.
it can't be helped, you do get a larger boot because of the torsion beam suspension.
handling is good though.
those bends when exiting the highway, even at 80km/h is good.
the steering is not nervous at high speed.

because the car is tall, you'll feel the turbulence more when passing a huge bus or truck, compared to a low sedan.

road noise is quite low. all the noise seems to come from the door, from other cars.

setting in S, or Second gear as stated in the manual, the acceleration is better. cruising at 110 leave the engine droning at 3000+ rpm.
the simulated gear is way too close to each other.
in D, the paddle shift is only good for climbing steep hills and you step down a gear, it will quickly go back to auto.

in econ mode, well use it when you're cruising on the highway. the throttle response is way too slow.

the speakers are average. my edifier R1600T+ sounds way better.

the folding arm rest is too high and makes it uncomfortable to use.

>I suspect is electric attract the dust.

Everybody have a right to complain. However, make sure that your expectations of the product is fair and based on what is officially claimed by the manufacturer. The problem is sometimes, we set our expectations too high and end up disappointed.

I agree that there is always room to improve, so instead of just complaining, provide constructive criticism.

Actually another reason, I chose a hybrid car is to reduce pollution by burning less petrol. I may not be saving a lot of money at the end due to cost of the battery but I am doing my part to go green. Think about it.

Do not be too disappointed, just enjoy the ride and know you are helping the environment.

PRIUS OUTDOES HUMMER IN ENVIRONMENTAL DAMAGE

The nickel contained in the Prius' battery is mined and smelted at a plant in Ontario that has caused so much environmental damage to the surrounding environment that NASA has used the 'dead zone' around the plant to test moon rovers.

just saying.

i already told my sister before she made the purchase.
if you want an environmentally friendly car, get a mirage.
she chose the jazz because it's larger and the hybrid is cheaper than the petrol.

of course, you can recycle the nickel back.
so you just rape mother earth once. rolleyes.gif
