Basically is the same except some apps are customized for the Note, example Asphalt 6. If you download this from market it will show incompatible

All the apps ?? You must be crazy to do it
Market has more choice and better alternative apps vs Samsung apps store. I rate Samsung apps store a miserly 1 point ( maybe even minus point)  vs 10 points for official Market
*
if it's tailor made for the Note, isn't getting the app from Samsung Store better?

A lot of the apps are poorly made. It's a poor man's market for apps if you ask me. Google Play got everything you need in any apps, why do you want Samsung apps?
*
I thought initially the apps in the Samsung store are tailor made for Note.
By the way, how is the payment being made in the Google Play? Do we have to register the credit card upfront like what we have to do in iTunes when we register for an Apple ID?

Open a account at google checkout :
https://accounts.google.com/ServiceLogin?se...cc=1&authuser=0

You can sign up payment under credit card or debit card. If you are using debit card you need inform bank to activate it for online transaction

hmm.gif
I think the software part is still a problem.
Hopefully the much hype ICS could help to improve the camera performance.

it was nice..
at least better than my current nokia 8MP

The camera on the smartphones are boiled down to the software that controls it. How the reproduction of the pictures is the matter in smartphones as the camera sensors have limitations due to the size.

Recent announced HTC One X seemed to have a better improved F2.0 aperture size which is good for low light capturing conditions. I wonder how good the new camera is hmm.gif

If you buy white don't buy those cheap casings ( especially those cheap PU type back covers )  as it will stain your phone and I have read many users unpleasant experience unable to remove the stains

what kind of performance are you looking at?

I think they got the white balancing all wrong at least for the AWB.
What I noticed is that the picture you see when you snap immediately is different from the one you will see in the gallery. I guess that's the auto-adjustment by the software.

hmm.gif If you download from your Note, it should not allow you to download if it's not compatible with your device. Same goes to downloading from Google Play.

oic...could it be the setting?

I'm not sure about the settings on the GB 2.3.6 yet in terms of the camera functionality. I'm still exploring Android laugh.gif
This is only the 4th day I'm using my Note.

Are all the apps downloaded via the phone itself for Android OS?
For example, if I were to download an app which is 1GB file size, even if I select install from the Google Play website, it will send the info to the phone and the download starts from the phone itself.
Is that how things work in Android?
Is there a way to download the app from the computer then only transfer/sync over to the phone?

p/s: sorry, this is more or less an iOS behavior. I still can't get out of iOS world just yet sweat.gif I've been iOS user since 3 years ago. Still need some time to adjust biggrin.gif
