Oh, I hadn't known XD

If anyone wants a Malaysian who is good enough ...Shaun Maloney is your man xD Born in Sarawak, so technically is Malaysian, but plays for Wigan and Scotland.

one can only be technically Malaysian if one not something else....

what arressandro mean is s.maloney is a scottish. malaysian can't have two nationality. correct me if i'm wrong.

Correct. Malaysia only allow one nationality to be Malaysian. Malaysia's.

So technically, its either you are Malaysian or you are not. I think Gan and Maloney falls into the latter cathegory.

Well my cousins are Malaysians even though they're half french.

then they are Malaysian and not French.

Shaun Maloney is obviously Scottish as Gan is Australian. Until they are ready to relinquish that status, there are no use of speaking as if they are Malaysian.

nationality decision goes way beyond football....

Fair enough but shouldn't Malaysia at least be able to call Brendan Gan since he has Malaysian parents? He could of choose to represent Malaysia (due to his parents' nationality) or Australia? Unless of course his parents are Australians themselves...

the ball is in Brendan's court.... what FAM can do is REQUEST for the immegresen dept. to speed things up should he RESOLVED to CHANGE his nationality...
but nationality is a serious governmental process and many people mistakenly think FAM is THE GOVERNMENT which they are not...

as in many govermental process, it could take some time for it to complete but it need to start with Gan's resolve first...

but then again, is he thaaattttt good to begin with?

the thing about malaysian football is, if they have all that intelectual inteligence needed to adapt to foreign place to begin with, then they wont be a footballer in the first place....

to be fair, a lot of good footballers in europe have trouble to adapt to other environment and influence their game also...

for now, i think the practical way for us to get the best out of young talents instead of them fizzling out alone in foreign land is to send them abroad in group so that they have more support group as a cushion to live in foreign land... that way, they not only improve individually, but also learn how to tackle the teams with higher standard as a group...
