Yes if he does not know how to change ports, you can start to block a range of port from the router... If his smart, he'll change the port.. If his not, he'll complain to you...

1. QoS is a method... Which shapes things up for the packets... This feature would be in Linksys WRT54G router.
2. Not dynamic IP but static IP.. 3. Yes.. Recommended model. Priced around RM245 but was RM225 during PC Fair. Its hard to say who's best but this Linksys is value for money considering the features.. |

QUOTE(Skylinestar @ Oct 15 2006, 05:43 PM) i wanna have maximum internet speed. does enabling QoS affects performance? It will improve the traffic but your maximum download speed will not be reached as QoS reserves a certain amount of bandwidth depending on how you set it. |

QUOTE(i_love_japan @ Jan 24 2007, 03:14 PM) Hi guys....i'm having a problem here. i'm using belkin Wireless G Router F5D7230-4 and i'm using a normal 1.m.b streamyx package. i'm fustrated with my housemate coz he keep on downloading torrent and so on and that makes me can't surf web. just wondering does u guys know how to divide the bandwidth and make it fair for 3 of us? any tutorial links? thx in advance... If I'm not wrong this router doesn't have QoS features. If it doesn't have QoS features there is nothing much you can do about your house mate that keeps on downloading except to discuss with him on slowing down his downloads.![]() |
