Hi ,

Need advice here , planning to buy 4" incho arowana MGBB ? I already 4ft x 1.5 x 1.5 tank with Canister Filter Dophin C1400 .. Cycling my tank now while waiting for baby coming in ..
1. My question is for 4 inch baby Aro , 4 ft tank with Canister flow 1400L/H .. Is it too big or too fast for baby aro to swim in ?
2. Do i still need to change water weekly if just keeping 4 inch baby in 4ft tank ? or can change 2 week once ?
3. Do i need to put tank mate for baby aro or just keep it alone ?
4. any specific lighting good for aro ?
Please advice .. i'm newbie here !!

Congratulations. Please be aware that 1.5ft depth can be a little restrictive when the Aro reaches its full potential. Ideall 2ft since u can imagine if the Aro reaches 24” which is 2ft, turning could be a little difficult. Height 1.5ft no issues.

Dolphin C1400 rating is 1400L/H but actual is not as much. You can use the supplied spray bar to diffuse the return. Obverse the fish, if it struggle then slow it down a little.

Ideally water change routine per week is preferable just adapt the percentage of change to feeding regiment and quality of water. Change less or more according to situation.

Most people keep a Lampan or Pleco or something smiliar. Helpful especially when the fish is in a new environment and makes the fish less nervous although also depends on the individual Aros character. Some Aros will kill whatever else is in the tank. Pleco helps will clean up of any uneaten food and algae.

I don’t advocate tanning gold Aros. If keen to keep the blue based then dark tanks bring out the color better over long term. For simple viewing needs, most LED might will do.

Have fun.
