Anyone race with a golf GTi before?

Got one damn kau lansi last night, vrooom vroom potong me when i was just chilling. Then I was like ok lets play, turun gear and WOT it....and I was suprised the GTi couldn't pull away. From 100 to around 170 the inspira was keeping up, only after that can I see the GTi slowly creeping away. I had an extra passenger too.

Friend told me the VW spec on paper abit tipu punya, use ron 100 and very cold weather to get it, not something achievable in our country. And alot of them cheapskate also pump ron95 which kills their performance.

Anyone had similar experience or was that GTi giving me face? lol.

The high torque and lower weight also plays a part why they are so beastly 0-100. But yeah i agree with you, once upwards of 100kph they are still quite a beast but not as much.
