My sister just called, and says the handbrake light is blinking ...

I think i experienced this once when i got the car ... just once ... i remembered i read in manual its the ABS or EBD ... can anyone confirm from the manual? I dont have the manual with me now ...

Making me worried ...
*

Hi guys,

My gf's viva has this buzzing sound.... one of her friends told her that it's her "alternator" problem... Any idea of it? And if that's the case, how much will it cost to fix or replace it?

Thanks in advance for the answer guys notworthy.gif
*
i'm not sure what is the buzzing sound to be honest.

but, i can tell you how to check the 'alternator'.

you start the engine, then you disconnect the battery. if the engine is still running while the battery is disconnected, the alternator is just fine. so, you might want to check on something else.

however, if the engine stalled once the battery is disconnected, yes, the alternator is kaput already.

hope that helps.

alternator will cost you around 300-400 perhaps? it could be more as i'm not sure. might want to call the spare part shop. if the car is no more under warranty, get the alternator from outside spare part shop and let your mechanic install it.

Ok guys need help here.

While the ignition is off I accidentally turned my steering wheel, causing it to lock. Now I can't even turn my key to start the engine.

How do I unlock it?
*
you have to turn the steering wheel a little bit and not let it get 'stuck' if you know what i mean. sort of holding the steering wheel off the 'lock' point and then turn the key.

@Aurora Boreali : you're welcome. glad i could help wink.gif

anyway guys, i have a question to all of you. have any of you guys got experience with washing the engine bay? do you have any place to recommend that can wash the engine bay clean and the car is still fine after it?

i've got experience washing the engine bay of my grandfather's wira at my hometown in kelantan. 3-4 times a year , the carwash was good coz the engine is fine until now tongue.gif

from the look of it, you can solve it with just polish. buy them at hardwre store and spend an hour or two polishing the driver's door or half day for the whole car and it will be better. flex.gif

What is the tire size you're looking for?

For a new pair of 14" tires, they won't exceed RM300 for both, you can get RM300 including installation and balancing even at some shop.

those lines will only come out if you turn on your headlight. go to to that mode, hold the 'stick' and wait for what happens next. your car will become a batmobile! rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif

hi,
i have problem with my car. the engine sometimes die when i stop or slows down during traffic jam. i noticed it happens if i always use the break. anyone experienced the same problem before? how can i solve it? its been killing me!!! i have sent my car to several perodua sc but still they cannot solve it sad.gif need to wait until jam is clear then only i can drive home meh? waaaa...
*
easy and free method is :
1. check your battery connections, make sure they are tighly connected and is not dirty.

or else, just like chrislyv said. clean your TB. did you service your car as per schedule?

QUOTE(onthefly @ Apr 17 2012, 05:14 PM)
hey, got a viva auto 1.0 ( 1 year + )
whenever i brake hard, can feel brake pedal vibrate quite hard. but i turn left right it okie. any advice. drive shaft?
*
yours is viva auto 1.0 with ABS or not? EZi?

if EZi, it has ABS equipped. with stock tyres, your ABS will surely kicks in even if the road is dry.

if not, do like what chrislyv said. skim your disc smile.gif

QUOTE(nicedevil @ Apr 19 2012, 09:39 AM)
guys, hypothetically if you were to buy auto viva which one will you go for?

- normal viva auto
- viva elite auto
- viva elite exclusive edition

is it really worth the extra money?
*
You do know that the last 2 options you wrote there come with 1.0L only right ?

If you do, then ask yourself these :
1. What do you need it for?

Short distance without the need of extra features and safety features and to save money = go for normal one.

Short distance with skirting but without safety features = elite auto EZ. (EZi is full spec with safety features and everything.

Exclusive = if you don't mind spending the huge amount of money on a viva. (The money for exclusive can give you a saga with bigger space, bigger boot, more power engine, more stable on highway and long journey.

Hai gais!

Viva 1.0 Auto reporting here. I've been much of a reader here in the Viva thread so I think it's about time my car left me puzzling mysteries for me to ask the sifus here laugh.gif

My viva is tend to tilt to the driver side, it did tilt before and after I changed to GAB lowered springs. I was wondering if any of you encounter the same thing as me? I know the both rear will go "tenggelam" eventually but this one is more tilting to one side. Is it the shocks?
*
what did you mean by tilt to the driver side?

can you please elaborate more? eg : was it during highway cruising, hard cornering, stand still , and etc.

QUOTE(MR.Shiney @ Apr 20 2012, 04:29 PM)
Yes, it's tilting to the driver's side. No matter in what motion the car is on it's still tilting. I measured the gap between the front left and the front right fenders it didn't match. The right side more like 1 finger, the passenger 2. And for some weird reason the car makes a very annoying squeaky metal noise when I go over harsh roads and speed bumps.

Any thoughts? Shocks? Worst to worst it's a bent chassis  sweat.gif
that is your absorber mounting kaput. have the front pair change. i suggest to use Myvi absorber mounting. RM120 if i'm not mistaken, that's from Perodua SC.

anyone using 15inch here? any difference in terms of driving experience? hmm.gif
*
i am smile.gif. i'm using 15'x6.5jj with 175/50/R15 tires.

what did you mean by driving experience ? i do feel a little more stable than my old 14' elite rims tho. but that could be due to the fact that i've got UR bars installed for the whole car and also GAB spring. hmm.gif
