someone mentioned he managed to top up for AS1M, i think is jacklew. ASM and ASW is a zero success in so far as my experience goes. I do not have AS1M, so no hands on experience there. I do not know how it works, but I think you cannot see how many units are available. The whole thing is very shabby in details. If one manage to, I think they will open a free text for you to key your amount, then they might reject or accept your topup, failure or success of which will be charged RM1 regardless.

Up to you to register or not, it is independent of unit availability. You can just register and wait until maybe a nationwide opening of subscription, then you can do it there.

On the other hand, funds where units are always available will be there for online subscription, like ASB.. 

I was trying to add my ASM & ASW2020 as favourite account in CIMB clicks this morning AGAIN. Can't remember how many times i tried and get rejected !! Know what, this time i manage to get it THROUGH !!!!!! I went to Maybank to update my AS1M passbook this afternoon, at the same time try to add more units (for AS1M, ASM, ASW2020), but it was FULL, as usual.[attachmentid=3097257]

Do you mean by 10 times in a single day? those agents not gonna tried that much for you. Up until now, i question some banks and PNB, they mentioned for new account to open for Chinese is almost zero except announcement return on that day, number of banks say, never for AS1M while PNB say yes but not many, other fund almost zero. You may try your luck too.

i managed to top-up the AS1M for RM400 during the FIRST try. At this moment, you can only try to top-up AS1M. Even thought I have registered my ASW2020 & ASM in CIMB clicks, but these two funds are not available for selection when you try to top-up.

do u guys think AS-funds' annual return of abt 6% is able to beat inflation? Or maybe precious metals is better for safeguarding values?

Added on November 26, 2012, 8:25 pmRemember i asked one time why i cannot register ASM on CIMB Clicks?  I actually finally managed to, but it was not from any assistance from those correspondence I had with the bank people. I actually ran through some of my deposit slips of ASM from which I had transacted at the physical bank, and observed the details. I saw one line where my IC number was, and it looked usual until I looked more intently, I saw that there was a 0 padded in front of it. Damn, so I went to try and key in again to register online, this time typing my IC with the extra 0 padded in front, ie. 0 followed by YYMMDDxxxxxx, and only then I was accepted. I wonder whether you guys have your IC numbers padded with 0 as well.

Register as in registering your membership (which you already have opened the AS1M previously via physical agents) onto the online banking service right?

How come you have some sort of like an 'email' message? I believe one can just register straight away at the Investment-related tab, then go to ASNB and then Add Favorites. When we add favorite, we will key in fund membership number and IC then wait one day, for it to be Approved or Rejected. Even rejected there wouldn't be any message to you, just tht its Rejected. Did you use the Message Center to ask them? If so I suggest you go straight to the Add Favorites to try.

Looking back on your post, I believe you sent them a message to ask and you probably have not tried the actual registration. Based on that message their explanation is valid, as you usually can't subscribe new units as long as it is considered 'quota full' for your race. I do not know how you asked them or they may have misinterpreted. Do note that register and subscribe are 2 different terms. Register means you just let them verify your membership and attach it to your account e-banking facility. Whereas subscribe means to 'purchase' units. In summary, you may not be able to subscribe but registration is definitely possible. So, suggest you try to go to "My Investment" then "ASNB", then "View Account Status", then "Add New". Hope it works out. (As my experience goes with the Message from those e-banking, sometimes they really lack knowledge on the thing you asked or due to time constraint, so they rather reply you some generic 'nonsense'.)

Fyi, i managed to have my ASM & ASW2020 REGISTERED successfully via the add function in cimb CLICKS, but that's AFTER MORE THAN 10 TIMES REJECTED :-) Even i have had it registered successfully now, but no way to purchase additional units for ASM & AS2020 as the field in additional purchase only have AS1M as option.

Anyway, I do not really understand what method by adding "0" without any dash (-) sign.

Good! I don't know why they need that 0 in front tho. They should specify properly on the website how is the format they want, who could have thought the IC needs a 0 in front. And last time I messaged CIMB many times, they just reply standard message, say please refer to PNB, bla bla bla and all the addresses of PNB etc.

My IC is written by hand on the passbook on first page along with member name, membership no. etc. You don't have it? The top-up slip does have the IC number with 0, somewhere on the codes. There are quite a few lines of codes there, as with most transactions, some reference no.s, trace codes. etc.
