Cities XL is actually somewhat better than that fictional SimCity Societies game you talk about. It's like a hybrid of SC1 and SC4 (zoning style of SC1, but complicated enough with over a dozen zone types. Just too bad zones cannot merge to form larger building)...

Anyways, happy to hear that it will be complicated like SC4. Now if they just put in ability to jail or fire advisers if you feel they do wrong...

Preordered Digital LE because I didn't want to spend all my bonus monies on one game (I also want Fallout New Vegas and SC2: HotS Yo!) and I see those extra building types as just niceties that will not impact the game play. Reckon if I need them later I can just buy the DLC separately. Especially painful since SC2:HotS will be released exactly just one week after SC3013

Hmm can't preload the game yet in origin?

Apparently not yet. At least, there's no option to preload from Origin SG.

ugh, gatweway timeout caused double post.

Anyways...

Initial download is only 268MB. But now downloading real data... taking long time... 11% only... zzz...

I wish Origin has backup/restore like Steam. This Friday I'm going to have to go through the same thing to install the game on my desktop :/ If got backup and restore then don't have to wait hours to download second time :/

Idk how long mine took to dl the game, but I played through the tutorial already and just dabbled abit in my city before deleting it.

My hard disk space never went down much, so maybe 12GB is a typo.

Have to turn everything down low >.< I hope AMD will allow the game to support CrossfireX soon, since my laptop is A6 with Dual Graphics. Already upgrade to 8GB RAM...

Will create a proper city starting tomorrow. Right now want to zzz already...

still wondering if its worth it getting the deluxe. any ideas?
*
Well, it depends on your priorities. The only difference between LE and Deluxe is the three extra building types which will probably become available as buyable DLC in the future. For me, I feel that Plumbob Park and Heroes and Villains set is practical since it adds to the game experience, but not the building types. Plus, I have the other commitment- SC2:HotS which is supposed to come out next week. So for me LE is good enough. But if you feel like you cannot wait for the three building types or is afraid that the packs will cause the game to cost more than the Deluxe edition itself, then by all means go for the Deluxe version.

Hi guys, anyone having connection issues with Origin's Server?
Suddenly no connection. And my map was reloaded.
Lost 2 hours of my life.  icon_question.gif

Better than me. Somehow I managed to crash SC on my laptop. And all I did was create a second city >.<

Anyways, the only connection issues I'm having are that the SC servers seems to be slow. Aside from that no issues.

Anyone has a new region on Oceanic 2? Planning to play at someone else's region this time.

I need to check later. As of yesterday I still only get Oceanic 1.

I'm going out now, so cannot check tongue.gif

everywhere also no stock, is it possible that if buy from origin, they also out of stock?
*
Uh, bro, Origin is digital direct download. Once you buy, the Origin Client will give you an option to start downloading the game to your PC. Just make sure you have at least 12GB free and that's good enough.

Worst comes is you have to leave the PC on overnight to download the full game if you're on a slow connection like Streamyx. The game is roughly 2GB in size, need about 2-3 hours on 1Mbps Streamyx line and that is if you there's no one else downloading.

PS: I've at the moment moved to Oceanic 2. Oceanic 1 has become too overloaded to play in shakehead.gif

Did you forgot,to export by any change? Could also build a plane terminal and  those trade port where you could ship goods with ship and train
*
Agreed. Click on "Manage Global Market Deliveries" and set it to export every single item. A nice side effect of this is that you also get cash from the export, although it's less frequent than hourly income, but it's usually higher payoff.

No, correct. Use trade port.

... And now Oceanic 2 is full as well... Switching back to Oceanic 1 and hoping for the best. If also full... mad.gif vmad.gif

don't tell me we have to pay extra for the features that were supposed to be there in the 1st place?

Please be subway...

Also, will we qualify for the free game download thing?

I also think server is going to become less congested since now SC2: HotS is launched and there will be people dumping SC5 for that tongue.gif

At its current stage. The game cannot handle 3x3. When you get lots of buildings. The game gets very slow. Plus agents get weird.

I've seen pathfinding issues with the game so far. Fire engine goes crazy and go in circle and cannot get to fire, and then just now there is a fire and none of the fire station responded >.<

Just don't rely on one station on your map. Need to have multiple and spread out, it works better that way. Unfortunately as cool as glassbox is, it's still just only first generation, first of its kind. Can't expect miracles from it. You can't avoid traffic jam or pathfinding issues, but you can spread it out.
I didn't! I have 5 fire stations in the city so far (three in my residental areas - one in each neighborhood, and two in my "business area"). Same for Police and Clinic.

Also I'm losing a lot of money due to having so many of each >.>
