Waiting for garbage collector shift to start?
My city is full of rubbish now.
Please help.

Nothing you can do now sad.gif

The only thing you can do at this point is edit your dump and invest in a few more garbage trucks (and probably an extra plot of landfill or a incinerator) before 6AM so that more rubbish will get collected daily. Alternatively, create a town specially for receiving garbage (make sure the dump has a few incinerators) and buy the service from there, and wait for 6AM next day.

Well, hopefully SC2: HotS (the other SC sweat.gif ) will distract some SC5 players for a few days so the server is less crowded. Infact, SC5 servers have been surprisingly responsive since last night rclxm9.gif Been playing US East 2 since two days ago, no major idioticity like putting me on a queue and frequent disconnection/reconnection.

profit steadily over 3k though now....no high school yet coz the damn server kicked me out when i wanna plop my ministry of education mad.gif

Better than me laa. Comet strike. Totally ruined my city economically (5 fire stations enough? FEH!) and drove me muflis until I rose the tax to 13% for a few days. By then a lot of people became homeless and I had to clear like 8-10 abandoned buildings every hour >.<

My City. Looks like running at a loss, but in actuality I'm making a profit from exporting recycled stuff like plastic, alloy and metal.

The last time I tried your style to rely on recycled materials with that kinda expenditure I went bankrupt cause I didnt have enough recycled items to sustain my economy.  cry.gif

Using this tactic very difficult because the income no longer matches up with the display on screen, so you must trial and error a few times to find the sweet spot of how much cash you can and cannot spend. I actually muflis a few times and had to use bond to bail out before figuring out the timing... Although most likely I won't build anything more until I have at least 500k cash, and the last thing I'll build is a Expo Center because I keep getting abandoned buildings on my business area.

And so I have to dump the city in the US East server for a while. Started getting this error message followed by rollback every time I play two in-game few days (read: a few minutes into the game at llama speed). My citizens are stuck in a Groundhog Day loop sad.gif

QUOTE(bendspear @ Mar 14 2013, 10:13 AM)
Hi All,

I plan to buy this game in future when all server issue are gone. But I just move into new housing area which do not have Streamyx yet. So I am relying on 4g broadband like YES to do the job. My question is is this game consume a lot of data or it just for authentication purpose if I plan to play single play game mode. Since broadband data is quite expensive

smile.gif  thanks
*
I'm playing the game on Yes alot (during my daytime hours, using Yes on my laptop. Gotta love workplaces with BYOD policies). Will let you know in one month tongue.gif

But for initial download, I highly don't recommend using Yes. It's a 2.5GB initial download and will eat through your quota like a hungry hippo. Find a restaurant with a UniFi powered hotspot to download the game first.

QUOTE(Rei7 @ Mar 14 2013, 10:35 AM)
You need to save everything online. You might encounter problems as well if you disconnect. I recommend going online all the time though.
*
Agreed. You need to remain connected to the internet while the game is played. Disconnecting will cause all sorts of stupid issues.

QUOTE(bendspear @ Mar 14 2013, 10:44 AM)
Since you are playing fine I think it is OK to stay online. Or do you frequently top up your data?
I plan to buy retail version and install so save some data to game update.
*
I'm on RM68 postpaid which provides full speed for 4GB monthly quota, after that speed capped at 64k (extremely unusable). So far, no warning yet. I will try to use a traffic counter and play one hour in a bit to see what's the hourly consumption of the game.

QUOTE(emino @ Mar 14 2013, 10:47 AM)
After a while the game will quit itself if you still havent reconnect. I know this from last time playing on train time balik Ipoh.
*
In other words, the online requirement is basically disguising their alway-on DRM. It's stupid tho- it means I can no longer play if I go on vacation >.<

QUOTE(johnny82 @ Mar 14 2013, 01:27 PM)
announced on 18th right?

Yeah. Still deciding what I want to redeem for. Hopefully tho, valid in Malaysia.

This is ~1 hour usage, more or less 1 min.

More concern about uploads than downloads. Uploaded 52MB but download only 6MB. Otoh, I may need to retest- the server disconnected halfway through my session, but strangely it let me stay in the game for over 30 minutes until i manually quit. This also flags whatever cloud processing they talk about as BS.

QUOTE(Rei7 @ Mar 14 2013, 05:57 PM)
Not that I have any problems with traffic but sometimes when I look at some traffic jam I feel stupid. Glassbox engine = fail.
*
The biggest problem imo is how the pathfinding algorithm is a pile of crap. Seriously, why does the fire truck circle the block nonstop until the bloody building burnt into rubble? Why not just bloody park across the road from the fire? Don't tell me hose not long enough? Also, sometimes there is a fire but none of the bomba detect it. Even if it's just down the street from a fire station.

QUOTE(rjb123 @ Mar 14 2013, 05:25 PM)
Oh don't get me wrong, I still enjoy playing it and putting a lot of hours into it.

Agreed. It's a fun time waster. But in all seriousness, if you want accuracy, SC4 or Cities XL presents a more accurate simulation of a city.

*sigh* more I play, more I find problems.

Now, got to the point where I build college and my factory in area become level 2 tech. The game advisor keep saying not enough skilled worksers, build more schools. Hello, my number of kids is ~3200. I have 5 schools fully upgraded. 5*950 = 4750. There are school bus stops on every. freaking. road. Every school have been upgraded to five. school. buses. Where the kids live does not matter, there are school buses and bus stops practically everywhere. All the school are only two blocks apart from each other (each of my neighborhood is a grid of 4x3 housing estates with two grids in the center hollow).

And then there's the fact that some building demand for park. Despite, you know, I just placed down two nearby.

Sumore, even at 100k residents, tax income very low. Raise a bit more only to say, 12%, and hell breaks loose.

I'm starting to feel like giving up on the game oredi. Too unbalanced, too many bugs.

U need to give it some time.  It takes a while before tech goes higher.  Usually tech level rise faster. With uni

Well, the thing is, my tech level is already there. Just that the workers cannot catch up because somehow a lot of my sims refused to go to school after I plop down the college.

No I mean if a city bankrupt, it will become what? Like maybe all buildings will be abandoned?
Not seeking for solutions biggrin.gif

When the city bankrupt, the game give you option to take out loan, increase tax, or abandon the city. Not like 2K/3K where it outright tell you game over and ask you to GTFO.
